Scariest bedtime story?

As a kid, maybe your mom or your dad would tell you a bedtime story so you'd fall asleep. Sometimes, even the most wonderful story can be looked upon as scary from a child's point of view. I remember my mom telling me the story of Tom Thumb and although she didnt make it sound scary, it would SO scare me to death. I was so afraid Id become tiny and then Id get lost and wouldnt be able to find my way home and I would never see my parents again. So, what bedtime story were you afraid of?

When I was a child my father read some ghost stories aloud to me. I was far too young for those stories, and I found them extremely scary. The one that scared me the most was a story about a mirror. A family buys an old mirror and puts it in their livingroom. The daughter starts feeling uncomfortable when she is in the living room and she covers the mirror while she is in there. One day she is home alone, and she has to pick up something in the living room. She forgets to cover the mirror and when she looks at it, she sees the face of a man. Something has happened to his face and half of his face is gone. I don't remember the rest of the story, but I remember how scared I was when I heard it

Hello Porcospino. Im so sorry your dad told you such stories. My, its scary to me now and Im not a child!! Too bad you dont remember the rest of it, now I'll wonder how it ends. Lets pretend it ends well. So, no cute kiddie stories for you I guess. You must have dread that time of night when your father would tell you storied. Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel better to know I wasnt the only one.

The Wizard of OZ, I just couldn't get that tornato out of my mind. I still have a great fear of them and would never be near one willingly. I don't know how people who live where they are common can stand it.
