... renamed and is now being marketed as a natural sweetener
Despite the evidences showing that aspartame is a dangerous toxin, it has remained on the global market with the exception of a few countries that have banned it.
In fact, it continued to gain approval for use in new types of food despite that it causes neurological brain damage, cancerous tumors, and endocrine disruption, among other things.
Aspartame was an accidental discovery while trying to produce an anti-ulcer pharmaceutical drug for G.D. Searle & Company back in 1965.
In 1985 Monsanto buy G. D. Searle & Company, therefor aspartame producer is now a side branch of Monsanto ....

wmraul snopes says all that crap is crap, that aspartame is not dangerous and that people who get a charge out of scaring the public are now putting up new hoaxes just to put fear into unwary people who swallow whole all internet crap as the whole truth. article after article has
proved all these allegations as completely false. its sad that people who are intelligent do not snopes things before just believing all statements.

You say snopes are always reliable, more reliable than facts ?
There's a snopes article marked as "is aspartame to be blamed for ...? - NO !" .................. BUT !
Read the article and see is all about fact IS poison.

When my daughter was younger she suffered from fits so i had to write down all the things that she ate aswell as drank.I got told to cut down on some of the squash drinks that i was giving her as the squash contained aspartame in them.Along with her medication aswell as taking away the squash she was alot better so i would agree that it is bad for you as that was a dr that advised me and that was about ten years ago.

I can see why they want to change the name...they have been found out and their money has began to shrink from the slow down on sales of this toxic compound.
Once the public became aware of what this chemical can and will do to their body many stopped using it. I am glad we have a few "whistle blowers" who are willing to share these findings with people who are unaware of just how low a company will go to make money off the companies who make sweet foods, drinks and gum. And the companies will use it even if they know that it will do the consumer bodily harm.
It all comes down to making the mighty dollar.
This isn't the first time the FDA has been paid big bucks to pass a harmful additive nor will it be the last. MSG (Monosodium glutamate) was proven to be harmful to the body and it too was approved by the FDA and is still in use by some companies. We the consumers have to be more aware of what we eat and drink. We should know by now that most acids (all of these are acids) are not good for us.
Thanks for the heads-up on this one.

WHAT!
Renamed, so that you won't know it is aspartame? That is OUTRAGEOUS!
I have always hated the stuff and I have read that it causes cancer. I can't stand the taste and do not consume ANYTHING with aspartame in it. It leaves my mouth just tasting awful.
