My eldest only ever had one tantrum. It involved laying on the floor in complete silence! It was the loveliest tantrum ever! My second, however, was quite different. He was difficult sometimes but he didn't really tantrum. He did cry a lot sometimes, and I didn't always know how to calm him. There were times when I realised that I was getting so stressed myself that I was just making him worse so I would simply make sure he was safe and I would leave the room for a couple of minutes.

Yes, temper tantrums are an unavoidable stage every child must go through. My son is 4 yrs., and he will always throw a fit every time he doesn't get what he wants. That's he way to "relieve his tension or anger". Before when he have a fit, I would raise my voice and command him to stop. Boy, was I wrong, raising my voice at him would only escalate the matter and make the situation worse. So now I know that I should just ignore that behavior, kinda like giving him and me time to cool down. If anyone have other better techniqes in dealing with temper tantrums, please share with me.
