A little pain now saves you more pain in the future. Injection is the most efficient way to get meds quickly into your system, although is painful at times it does get the job done. The amount of pain varies depending on the injector's technique. The good ones will keep you distracted and put in the needle so quick that barely feel a thing. While the bad ones in the other hand will just stick the needle in your arm so hard that you wish you don't have an arm. Pain sometimes is necessary to help you get well, and injection's pain is nothing compare to the one you will endure after a surgery. If a injection can help you prevent the surgey then do it by all means.

Hi, saanjh. Yes, I do feel afraid of an injection. I am very scared when it comes to having one of these. I got an injection for my Herniated Disc in my lower back. And boy was that the most uncomfortable feeling I have ever experienced, besides having a baby! The effect of this injection shot right through my lower left leg. I could feel the medicine work its way up my thigh. I felt weak and there was an annoying ache. I was glad when this procedure was over with.

I usually know what meds I am getting and I rarely need injections so I am not afraid of injections so much as I am afraid of blood tests. I have rolling veins and if the technician does not have experience with rolling veins, then it will be very painful for me. I have had some technicians who were so blind they could not drive through a billboard if it were in the middle of the road in front of them. I come away bruised and angy when that happens. One problem I have with injections is when the injection has to go into the muscle. I always tense up when the needle goes in so I am sore for days and even weeks afterwards. Take a tip from me, try to relax if you can. You will feel better and you will not be so sore.

I was never afraid of injections, even when I was a kid. My mom would always praise me everytime there's an injection or whenever we go to the dentist so that I can be braver. I really show my mom how brave I am so that she'll just keep on praising me. So I guess that may be the reason why I am not afraid of injections.

Can't is an absolute. Of course you can take an injection. You just prefer not to. You are afraid of the pain and have magnified the discomfort in your mind to a point where you think you just can't do it. However, if there ever came a time where you had to take a shot or die, there would be no choice. Stop thinking of what you can't do, and try to stay as healthy as possible so it will never be necessary. If it ever becomes necessary to take a shot, "JUST DO IT".

When I was a kid, I remembered seeing other kids cry when they had their injections. My mum assured me that there was really nothing to be afraid of and the injection will feel like an ant's bite, at the most. Sure enough, I didn't feel much pain and so didn't cry out. Since then, I have had quite a few injections and I am still not afraid of injections.

Yes, I am afraid of needles and have been afraid for all my life. I used to cry when the doctor said that I was going to have to give blood for a test. I also had a lumbar puncture when I was younger and it really hurt, so I'm not really a fan of needles. I've become less afraid by aging because it doesn't hurt that much anymore, but I still don't want to get an injection or anything. I hate them.

I don't mind injections at all. I think i would rather have that little sting of the needle than a worse thing because I didn't let them do it. When I was expecting my daughter, they did a blood test thing in the back of my hand because they said the sugar levels seemed wrong. It lasted hours and they put a sort of plastic thing in with a lid so that they could come back and put the needle back in later on. I had a huge bruise on the back of my hand next day but they found that the blood sugar was fine after all so it was worth the discomfort.

I am the same, I hate having injections which is a pain as I have been in and out of hospital for the last 4 years and each time it has involved the use of numerous injections. It’s the actual insertion of the needle which I don’t like and once that’s done I don’t mind watching them pull it out after, lol.

I don't get afraid when a compounder put injections in my hand. Being a science student I know what is going to happen. So it is too easy for me......

Me?! I'm not afraid of injections, but sometimes I'm the one who is doing all the injecting to other people in the first place because my profession requires me to skillfully and knowingly administer and inject medications to sick people, I need to have the spine to face needle. A long time ago I was afraid of needles and injections but I faced my fears, I have to face my fears by looking at the needle every time when it pierce through my skin. By doing that every time I go to have my shot I always look at the needle when it pierce through my skin, sooner or later you will get used to it and will never be afraid again. Try it ^ ^ u have to face your fears, that's how it happened to me. ^ ^

it's how you think how it feels. it's not painful..it feels just like a pinch..i did not show any fear when i was injected or has attached with dextrose.. my 4-year-old daughter watch the nurse or doctor do it to me..when it's her turn to be injected or have dextrose attached, she would just watch the nurse or doctor while they do their work..if at first you are afraid of it, i think it is very hard not to be afraid the next time.. but you can try taking your fear away...nobody else can take that fear from you except yourself..try donating blood, a good way to conquer your fear..you help save lives plus you are cleaning your circulatory system from old blood.. your body will just replace them with new ones..by the way, bigger needles are used when you donate blood..good luck...
