Do You Miss Being Young or Love Getting Older?

Old People Fruits - They're fruits dressed up to look like old people. You'd think the title would say it all.

I have a lot of people tell me, "Man, I miss high school so much. I had so many friends," or "I wish I was a kid again. I didn't worry about a thing." And I've never agreed. To me, childhood was a bunch of people older and bigger than me telling me what to do and abusing their authority. My opinions weren't respected and I had no say in anything. And when I was a teen it was a bunch of the same garbage, except now I had a ton of responsibilities to boot. And school? What could anyone like about school? Homework, bullies, crazy teachers, surly yard-duties, popular kids, tests, moronic assemblies, the never-slackened demand to conform. Yikes. I love being older. I don't have a curfew, I can buy cigarettes, I can go wherever I want, I can sleep over at my boyfriend's house, I can make money, I can hear dirty jokes, people actually listen to what I to say (mostly...). And sure, these things are meaningless in the end, but isn't it the little things in life that make it worth living? Cooking food and drinking wine with your friends until 3:00 a.m., laughing and not worrying about getting caught? What do you guys think? Were childhood and adolescence care-free salad days or agonizing periods of waiting?

No, i don't because i have passed that stage already. Although, every stage of my life was enjoyed, i do would like to go back to those days when me and my husband were just new parents. I would like to change some not so good traits of me towards him and make myself be more loving and understanding. I also would love to think of the days when finally , my husband and i will be retiring. I hope and pray we could live to be as sweet and loving even if we were old already. And i just hope we will still be able to travel to places we would like to go. We are now concentrated on having our daughter sent to Medicine, so those days when she is already a doctor and us in retirement, are being looked forward to ,by us.

I want to repeat my childhood, because childhood is a period of no load and only joy. I really want to feel the joy of a perfect, like childhood.

I don't miss being a child or a teenager. When I was a child my parents were pretty strict and there were a lot of things that I wasn't allowed to do, but as a adult I am able to make my own decisions. I love my freedom and my independence. When I was a child or a teenager I didn't have to worry about rent, bills, relationship problems etc and I had few responsibilities, but I still don't want to go back to being a child. I think that adulthood is much better, and I prefer the life that I have today.
