A woman in her 70s just got back from vacation in India for two weeks and said that she went on a tour with four other people there and loved it.
Another woman that I know is planning a trip to Ireland at the age of 69 with her brother.
Both of these women are widows... And this reminds me of my mother and her words to married couples after she got back from a trip to Ireland after my father died... She said, "Go on vacations and trips while you are able to enjoy them as you never know what will happen."
I am single, age 49, and unable to travel now due to finances and yet dream of visiting the Redwoods again, and Hawaii, Ireland and India for the first time eventually... I though wonder who I would go with if I went...
Are you planning any trips in the near or distant future?
If so, where would you like to go?
Who would you go with?
How old will you be when you go on that vacation?

My Mom (82) and I (60) are planning at least two trips this summer. The first will be New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona in June/July. The second will be New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Colorado (I might have left a state out on this one...). When we travel together, we love just going. We've been to all of these states before. So we're hoping to do Alaska, which neither of us has seen, next year.

I am going to Canada in June 2010. I shall be with my toddler son and he will be three years old. I will also be with my baby daughter and the day after we arrive she will celebrate her first birthday. In early July I will celebrate my thirty eighth birthday. I intend to visit Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
I took my toddler son to South Africa in January 2009. We explored Cape Town and the Garden Route. I was eighteen weeks pregnant at that time with my daughter. My son was twenty months old on that wonderful trip. I was thirty six years old.
I really love traveling to different countries. I went on trips to France with my family when I was a child. In my teenage years I traveled to Europe, North Africa and the Caribbean. I was 20 years old when I traveled around the world. I did that journey on my own. Well done to the lady that traveled to India when she was in her 70s. Good luck to the lady 69 year old lady that plans to go to Ireland.
Many people think that traveling to different countries is out of their reach. However I know it is possible to travel if a person accepts a low budget. There are cheap flights and backpacker hostels to stay in. Good luck with your travel wish list.

I am 64 and haven't traveled in years because I don't want to travel alone and because it costs so much money. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to! I think it's good for anyone to go and see new things, but maybe especially good for older people.
One of these days I may rope my daughter into a short road trip if nothing else.

My husband and I are going to travel around in Europe in September. We want to buy interrail tickets, so that we will be able to visit many different countries without spending too much money on transportation. I already know some of the countries that we are going to visit, but I never been to Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, and I really look forward to seeing those countries.
One day I hope to go travel around in Asia as well. There are a lot of different countries in Asia that I would like to visit. India is one of them, and I have a friend who has invited me long time ago. I need more money before I can an arrange a trip to Asia, but I hope that it will be possible in the future. My husband would like to visit New Zealand, and I hope that we will get the chance to go there as well.

I love traveling. Traveling is one of my main passions in life. I make it a point to travel to another country once a year. It can be as short as 4 days and as long as 2 weeks. For this year, I plan to go to Canada or Hawaii. But the one I really want to go to is Europe. I usually travel with my family.

I LOVE to travel!!! Always all the time I would be browsing the internet looking for flight or hotel bargain :) I wanted to go to Europe - at least to Paris, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Netherland and England .. Dont know yet when as the money is not ready yet hehehe but someday I will :)
As for the short term planning, more achivable and closer to home travel I would love to go to New Zealand ... if possible around mid of this year maybe for a week or more just to go around Auckland or Wellington (depending on how long we're staying) or I would love to go to Fraser Island, Adelaide, Uluru
The thing is, there are a lot of beautiful places in Aussie that I havent been yet, so I would love to explore those as well :)
What I would love on each trips though, is to experience the traditional or the culture of the area. Say like going to the traditional dance performance, watching something that is local of the area.. and things like that :)

I signed up for a trip to Taiwan with family at the end of March. It's sort of like a homecoming trip. My mom's parents migrated to the Philippines from an island called Kinmen. It's under Taiwanese rule, though it's situated more closely to China. At first, I actually wasn't very sure about going as I've been to Taiwan before, but I realized that a trip like this doesn't come around very often. It's the first time I'm traveling with a large group of relatives (there will be around 60 of us) and we will be visiting our grandparent's house, and other places in Kinmen and Taiwan.
Another place I hope to go to is Hong Kong, especially Hong Kong Disneyland. I'm the only one in my immediate family who hasn't been there, and I hope this year I can go there as well with my sister, cousin and my dad's sister. We also hope to visit Macau and Zhu Hai (my dad's hometown in China) while we are there since both are just a ferry ride away.
