Lesser carbs, more protein for the active person. More carbs and simple sugars for the brainstormers. Cutting on fat to lose the extra baggage, will it actually be worth the sacrifice??

It's always a good idea to watch your carb intake, cut the fatty foods out of your diet, eat lean proteins, and fresh vegetables (even fresh-frozen). It will make you feel better and give you more energy. You'll lose some weight. Realistically though you need to accompany your diet with some kind of exercise routine. You don't necessarily have to go to the gym, but you walk (some form of cardio), do stretching exercises, and general calisthenics. Make sure you choose a diet you can stick to. It's not a six week plan, it's a lifestyle change. Also, if you're following a good exercise program you can allow yourself a treat once in awhile without feeling the guilt. Good Luck.

It will help a little you will lose a few pounds for your sacrafice, but if you really want to lose a good amount of weight you have to exercise too. Diet and exercise together will help you lose weight. You have to create a calorie defecit that is the only way to lose weight you have to burn more calories then you take in. It is that simple.

I don't think that dieting alone can achieve that result. You've got to combine it with exercise. DH has never had a weight problem but he's always had a problem with love handles. Once he started to work on the waist twist machine at the gym, they disappeared.

Trying to eat helather is a good way to start. If your body isn't working against you, it'll burn fat instead of storing it. Though not all people eat responsibably or properally. That's where it can be a big problem. And, diet alone won't help, you need to be more active too.
