If you cannot sleep at night time, what would you do?

Hi friends, I am experiencing this problem nowadays.. I cannot sleep well in the night.. Even if I go to bed by 10:00pm, its very hard to sleep... upto 11-11:15pm I cannot sleep... then I don't know when I am sleeping.. What would you do to get quick sleep.. other than using medicines and sleeping pills...

Hi arunmails, You should not using medicines to help you to get sleeping. You will rely on it,and your body will get sick. I suggest that you try to concetrate on your interested things,make yourself busy and tried everydas,then it will be easy to go sleep when night coming!

hi,arun,if i feel like that i will take ALFRAZOLUM .25mg/.50mg which gives me sound sleep without any thoughts and those tablets are safe and no side effects.Those tablets are very good for whenever we are in tensions, mentallly deppressed,they will work within minutes and settle down to normal.But it is better to consult physician before use them. Have a nice time.

Well if am not geting sleep at night then i just open my systm and start browsing net i usually do Mylot and search for funny videos . And iam a crazy online racer so i'll play online games like crazykart in zapak and all . Then after somtime i'll be geting sleep automatically !! This will b happen regularly for me :)

Hello arunmails! If you can't sleep at night you should keep posting here on mylot.com! But I know you do want to sleep. Well, what works for me is to shower before going to bed, I use a soap made with lavander that smells very good. I find it very relaxing. When I'm like you, already in bed and yet not able to sleep I put a boring movie, well, boring for me. Like a romantic one or something like that and I program the SLEEP option on my TV for certain hour and I always get asleep before it turns off. You also can count sheeps but probably you will just gain a headache! Hope this helps you, Libna! Keep mylotting happily ever after.

I count backwards from 100 to 1. Sometimes, I have to do it more than once. But it usually goes like this: 100, 99, 98, what time was I suppose to pick up mom tomorrow, 99, 98, 97, did I let the dog out tonight to pee, 99, 98, 97, damn it's hot in here, 99, 98, 97, 96, I hope I win at the casino tomorrow, 93, or was it 97, 96, 95, 94, 93, 94, 92, what comes after 92, oh, 91, 90, 89, I think she told me 10:00, but it could have been 10:30, 97, 96, but I remember saying 89, 88, 87, 86 (kicks the covers off and flips over), 95, 94, 93, but I was in the low 80s, 79, 78, 77, boy that lady on MyLot is a liberal I wonder how old she is...bet she doesn't pay taxes 69, 68, oh I cheated, 83, 82, 81, 79, 78, 77, 76, 73, 77, I hope I remember that dream 69, what an awful number, 68, 67, 66, I think I have to pee, did I let the dog out, 77, 76, 75.... Obviously, it takes awhile, but don't quit...

its ok dude not to so worry abt this.....if u r not sleep read a book when u r in bed books makes u leepy spl when u r in bed......secondly watch a movie....saty in bed n thn think tht ur at place of hero....more think bat a person whom u like most in world a start reverse counting frm 100 to 0 while thinking abt tht person........dont sleep alone in such condition.....share ur bed wid a person wid whom u r frank n can share ur felling ur thoughts ur secrets......it makes u easy to get sleep.....n relaxing....

hi arunmails I have a lot of problems sleeping so I often turn on the computer and listen to the soft, soothing, glorious sonatas of flute, piano and violin by WAMozart. I am soon really sleepy, and also I rub on some soothing vanilla and lavender body lotion on my dryskin on arms and legs. the odor of vanilla mixed with the soft music really does relax me and I do sleep then. a great mixture believe me.

No caffeine after 5 PM, hot baths, warm milk, chamomile tea, melatonin, avoiding anything that "stirs me up" before bedtime...

I would turn on the television, maybe to the golf channel. That usually makes my husband and myself fall right to sleep. I'll also listen to relaxing music or something like that. I may get on mylot or just on the computer, I might turn on and play a video game, maybe watch a movie or if hubby is still awake also we'll talk, play a video game, watch t.v, maybe read etc.

I've had a sleep disorder for a number of years and have had to resort to taking medication but there are some things that you can try that might help with your problem. Make sure that you don't have any caffine after 4:00 or 5:00. Try to destress yourself before you go to bed and don't think about anything stressful while you're in bed. Think of a peaceful place, try to imagine it...or anything that is relaxing to you. Make sure that you get up at the same time every day even if you're tired. White noise can help...I like the ceiling fan in my bedroom. Make sure that you're wearing comfortable clothes when you go to bed and that you're not too hot or too cold. Most of all, stop looking at the clock. The more you look at how late it's getting, the more stressed you become.

I have insomnia all the time so i know what your going through! i also even went through a cognitive sleep study and it said if you dont fall asleep within 30 minutes to get up and be active for 30 minutes and try again.. dont nap.. i use an all natural pill called alteril which is otc and works for me when i have tried prescription pills that didnt.. most of the time i end up on the computer and just end up waiting it out till i just fall over from going so long with out sleep

There are several types of herbal tea that can help with this. Look on the internet for what is available in your area. Make sure you sleeping area is quite and cool, and don't eat within three hours of your bed time. As we get older many people have these problems, mine started in my 50s. Good Luck.

Hi arun! There are actually 3 ways for me if I can't sleep at night. First is to listen to classical music, or the lullaby type of music. It sometimes makes me drowsy and make me want to sleep. If that does not work, I watch TV until my eyes get sore and tired. If it still does not work, I drink sake till I get drunk.. hahaha.. Thats the time I get real sleep but an additional hang over when I wake up.. Happy mylotting!

I'd suggest, if this goes on to talk to your doctor, sleeping is a very important thing to do. It happens to me now and then not to be able to fall alspeep, I read once that staying in bed doesn't help, so what I do when that happens is to get up, make some thea ( an hot drink, maybe cofee would not be a good choice in that case) maybe I eat something ( some cookies for example) and then I either go watch some tv untill I feel more tired or just go on the iternet and surf a little. I know that also reading a book will help. Good luck with your sleep.

i usually lay there and try and sleep. i focus on my breathing so my mind is going crazy thinking about things (usually craft projects i want to work on). if i cant sleep, i get up and read.

When I can't sleep I usually just stay up and work on my online sites until I get sleepy or I read until I get sleepy. I don't really know a good way to induce sleep quickly though because I have a pretty hard time falling asleep almost every night.

If I can not sleep, I try to read for a while. That usually works best for me. If I am still not feeling sleepy, I will pop a dvd into my tv and watch a favorite movie. This works wonders too.

I am also like you sometimes, so i would just spend my time here in mylot and I watched korean drama online..but if you really need to go bed early cos you have to work the following day, then you can drink hot milk, it will relax you then you would feel like sleeping.

when i experience difficulty in sleeping i just read magazine or books that does'nt interest me or watch T.V. till i sleep..but as i nurse the intervention that can make solution to your problem is to drink warm milk before sleeping or having a message to relax your nerve and the last thing is to take a bath in a warm water.. i hope i did help you in your problem..
