its the feature that i will use the most in my mobile . i will text a lot instead of making a call . i think most of the students in my country used to do this . we all text a lot . the main thing for which we are having a mobile is to message . .we have some schemes where we can send free sms . so we use that . whenever i feel bored i will message to others and just have a chat . thanks for the one who invented it . it helps me to chat with friends even if i am in class .

I usually use it to text my girlfriend and sometimes my friends. I'm not really fond of text-messaging as I think it takes too long to write a message, I also think it depends on the type of mobile you are using. Mine takes me too long to write a message.

i always use sms everyday to communicate with friends and family since they cant be online all the time unlike me that im just here in my room and can open my internet from time to time. sometimes if theres no response from them and its very important then thats the only time that i give them a call.

Of course I'm using sms a lot. Sms is more cheaper than make a call. That why so many sms were sent avery day. Some people use th sms to keep in touch with the love one. They sent a message almost 200 to 250 messages a day. It seem to be like they always talking to each other for one day stright non stop. Some people also use this short message system to invite their friends to come for example a party. This will reduce the money for invite them insteed of call one by one. That will use a lot of money to do it. This short message system also used by big company to addvetising their product to people. They pay a network provider to make a addvertisment and send to all the network user. You see that a lot of advantage of this short message system.

In my case, I pay one flat fee for unlimited calling & unlimited text messages so it wouldn't make any difference in my bill. But I don't particularly like text messaging. I'd rather call so I make & receive calls more than I text. I do have to do it because of my work. My friends & co-workers understand the nature of my work so they check with text message first before calling. My part time job is translator & jobs come in random. I don't have set scheduled days for work. So there are times when I'm working, I can't respond or receive a call. Or respond to text messages or emails at all. My friends will text message me first & they'll call me when I respond to them that I'm not working at the moment.

I often send text messages to my friends. It is cheaper than calling and if the person who receives the message is busy, (s)he can just reply later. It is not like a phone call where you have to answer the phone when it rings. Sometimes I call instead of sending a text message. If we have a lot to discuss it is often easier to talk than having to write lots of messages. I also have a few friends who don't like to send text messages, so we call eachother instead.

I think most of the people I know who owns a handphone uses this feature. It is not only cheaper but it is easier. For example, when you ask someone to buy something, the SMS acts as a small note to remind them rather than a call that might be forgotton. A lot of the telco here in my country offers free sms for their users, and also discounted rate for the calls. I think this is because a lot of people tend to use SMS rather than call. for me, I use SMS most of the time
