I just saw my tape of The Curling Gold Match between Canada and Norway. Wow! What a match! The third for Canada, Johnny Morris, was on fire1 3 two take aways and 1 3 take aways! With watching these 12 days I got to figure out what shot they should do and I was able to tell which rock was the closest! this has been great! did you enjoy the curling?

I absolutely loved the curling! Kevin Martin is such a curling talent and he now has a Gold Medal to put on his resume. It was an absolutely exciting match. The triple knockouts were a thing of beauty. It was such an amazing match and a well deserved win.
It is a shame that Team Canada`s Ladies couldn`t have wound up with the same fate, but unfortunately Bernard couldn`t handle the pressure and missed two very key shots that would have won the game in both the 10th and the 11th end.
Oh well, I`ll take a Gold and a Silver!

I tried to get curling, but the only thing I've managed is to find out that the Norwegian skip is quite cute and their trousers really hypnotizing. I haven't watched much of the other sports either, but at least it's not very difficult to figure out what the goal is in most of the other ones. Go fastest, jump longest etc. Curling on the other hand :-)

Curling is sort of like chess meets pool meets bowling. Chess because you have to think three or four moves ahead. Pool because you have to make shots and bowling because of the release. If you want cute, did you see Canada's third, John Morris? Yummy!

Woohoo!!!! And let's hope we win in hockey this afternoon, against the USA. We sure have a lot of gold medals. I heard something interesting on the BBC last night. One of the reasons why Canadians didn't do so well in the past was that they felt that the Americans were too arrogant, and we didn't want to "be like them." Now I'm not saying this about all Americans (I'm aware I'm responding to an American now!!), but in sports and politics, Americans can be a bit "much" sometimes, and Canadians tend to shy away from this, even at the risk of losing. I think in this Olympics we're starting to realize that this isn't going to happen, that we need to do our BEST and not worry about "looking like an American."

We Are a bit much Since Birth! If you can't be number one , why bother? This is a moto when it comes to sports. I'm so glad The men won in both Hockey and Curling! if we won in hockey it would be news but not top news. hockey isn't a main sport here, Remember that moto? But if the Yanks came up and stole , yes I said stole , the gold it would be Headline news and I would fear for The psyche of the Canadian NHL players. Many are on my teams. I am so glad they won.

I'm afraid I didn't watch a whole lot of the curling competition and what I did see was in the middle of the night when I was half asleep! I felt kind of like a dummy because I couldn't seem to figure it out. Next time I'll try harder, when I'm actually awake.

Next time it will be on tape delay. This time it was on around 5pm-8pm. I kept running home to watch the matches.

I dont know what Curling is I plan to look it up but I know the feeling of pride once gets when from seeing the National team win a match .I remember when our local national team went to world cup in 1998 for the first time .It was such a great sense of achievement thatis spoken of today and we did well.

I saw glimpses of the game. Those Norweigan pants are so distracting!
Anyway, I think I should find a rink nearby where I could try out curling. I still think I could do it. I think I was good at chess when I was young. I'm relatively good at bowling, and I can handle geometry. I'm not too late for Sochi
Congratulations Canada!

Sitting there on the edge of my seat for most of the match it suddenly hit me. This is curling - - no checking, no zone defenses, no corner kicks - - just real athletes. Not bad.
And oh, yeh, Congrats Canada!
