watching tv i see different kinds of disposable diapers. everything seems to be soemthing we parents wants in a disposable diapers specially when it is sleeping time. but during the times when our son was just an infant my wife used cloth diapers for the reason that our son is having rushes or sometimes prickly heat specially when it is really hot. my son is four already and uses only diapers when we are going out, and he uses pull ups. at home my wife is potty training him so we dont let him wear any diapers. how about you.... cloth diapers or disposable?

We used cloth the whole time. My understanding of potty training is, the child feels uncomfortable getting wet and would rather be dry. You wont get that as much with the very absorbent kind because the discomfort is eliminated so it will take longer to train them. My daughter was only wearing them at night after she was 11 months old because she liked to wear 'big girls pants' and she didn't want them to be wet in the day time. My son was about 3 before he was potty trained because boys pee differently and it isn't so uncomfortable (they aren't sitting in the wet so much). He had ordinary pants for potty training and we also had a little seat that fitted onto the real toilet to make the seat smaller(in case they fear falling in) and a step to reach it .

thank you! I think they are making a comeback over here in the UK but now, people are buying shaped versions with little press fasteners which look like a disposable but are all natural material and can be washed. If my kids were babies now, that would be something we might look at but I wouldn't rule out the old kind as they were simple and cheap and long lasting, one size fits all. They were popular a long time and many people were brought up with them.

I use and have used only disposable diapers on both of my kids. The only time that my son ever had a problem with getting a horrible rash is when I purchased the Publix brand diapers. The rash was horrible and he screamed but as soon as I went back to his normal brand. Disposable diapers for me are way more convenient especially when we are out and about. I make sure to change the diapers often and first thing when they wake up. That eliminated any rashes for me. I would love to have used cloth diapers, but there were not any diaper services in my area that would come and pick them up and provide me with fresh ones, like when my mother had me and my sister.

I tried using cloth ones for a little while, but they always seemed to leak and I was constantly having to change all of the clothes and the bed it just seemed like more of a hassle then it was worth, so mostly I used disposable diapers. I would use the cheapest ones I could find, but sometimes that back fired too. I managed to find a couple of cheap generic brands that wored really well.

I don't think anybody uses cloth diapers at this time. My mom used only cloth diapers for me because the other diapers were not common or available at that time in my small village. But, parents in this generation uses only disposable diapers. They may use cloth diapers for new born baby for a few days, but later they use only disposable diapers, which are easy to handle.

We use both the disposable and the cloth diapers. Each has its pros and cons. When our baby is awake, we would let him wear cloth diapers. If he soils it, we can change it for him immediately. I think it feels more cooling this way. However, when he sleeps, we would switch to disposable diapers for him. Firstly, the disposable diapers absorb urine better, and secondly, it contains urine well, so there's no urgent need to change the diapers, and lastly, it would not make the bedsheet too messy if he poos or pees in the disposable diaper.

I use cloth diapers for my son. My older is about to be four. By three, we stopped using diapers completely for him, My younger son uses cloth diapers at day time and disposable ones at sleeping time. Cloth diapers also have far too many options. Some of them are costly too. I have seen about 30$ cloth diapers with inserts and no leaks.

true, some of the cloth diapers are really costly. there are cloth diapers that looks like a disposable one with velcro and it is quite expensive. mabe thats the one you are talking about. there are ones with design and prints too. disney charactered cloth diapers are pricey as well. thanks a lot for the response

I use both of them. As the cloth diapers are natural and I won't be afraid of the medical stuff. Besides, my son was born in summer and at that time it was hot. It's better to use the natural cloth diapers so that his skin won't be harmful. But I will use the disposable diapers at night because it is too troublesome to change the cloth diapers at that time. I want my son to have a good sleep and don't be bothered by the wet cloth diapers. I love China

i don't have a child yet but definitely, when i have my own baby, i'll use cloth diaper when we're just at home. i think for me it's more economical since it can be washed and used again. but at night, and whenever we're going out, i'm gonna switch to disposable diapers.

My baby used diaper cloth at day time but in comes of sleeping at night I prefer to disposable diaper to make her comfortable. And also it was a big help to those mother who is working at day. Using disposable diaper at daytime always makes rashes which irritated to all babies. Better to alternate using disposable and disposable according to needs.

I used disposable diapers when my children were babies. If they had had problems wearing them, I would have changed to cloth. I found that bribery is an awesome tool when it comes to potty training.

hello seventh, I was using both when my kids were young. The convenience of using the disposables when going out,and the comfort for the kid for using cloth diapers when we are at home. Disposable diapers usually causes rashes due to some reasons. It could allergy with the materials,or becoz,it's not as comfortable unlike the cloth ones. Teaching our kids to use the toilet at early age is also a must. We can even teach them to tell us when they want to use the toilet as early as 1 yr old. This depends on how we can train our child.

Hi. se7enthbird. My kids all use disposable diapers. It is so much more easier than using cloth diapers, that I have to clean out all of the time. It may cost more, but we always buy the reasonable brand at a great price too.

Disposable all the way. I didn't see anything wrong with using disposable. It's a lot less work for me and comfortable for my son. I change it every 4 hours now so that he won't get any skin irritation and wash bocy with water during every diaper change so that keeps him clean and happy. Cloth diapers seem to be more yucky to me that they may get things other than the diaper dirty.
• Philippines

har har har, yes cloth diapers are yucky for me too. if iwill be the one to take care of our son i will use also disposable diapers. but my wife uses cloth diapers for it is mostly hot in our country. a hour of disposable diapers can really cause rashes. thanks a lot for the response

Well for me I use disposable diapers for my kids but there was a time that my mom used cloth diaper when my kids were still on their infant stage. Right now my two year old daughter doesn't want to wear diapers in the morning anymore. She'll let us know if she would like pee or "popo".
