What could possibly go wrong?

Let us get this straight......we're trying to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who also hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke. What could possibly go wrong? Now really no matter what you politically think.. Is this really good for our country?

I think that the whole idea of a national health care bill if awful. The government can not afford to spend more money that it does not have to fund a national health care bill and to fund abortions. Abortions are murder in my opinion. Let us vote the democrats out of office!

I was a Registered Democrat until Obama came on the scene. I have to agree with dragon 54u our government (both parties) has some very slimy and corrupt politicians. I wish we could get rid of them all as they obviously think they are superior to the rest of the American people. I am sure it would help if their positions had a maximum of one term of 4 years and then they would have to get re-elected to regain their jobs.

There are some pretty slimy republicans, too. I'm a repub only because it lets me vote in the primaries, I'm a libertarian at heart. I'm ashamed of both parties! They should all be thrown into jail for treason!

I've seen this statement on e-mail a couple of times... If it weren't so sad/true, it would be hillarious. Oh, the President is trying to stop smoking. And I hope he smokes outside the House, when he does, because smoking is illegal in government-owned establishments, and last I checked, the White House still belongs to us.

Good point. The White House is a federal, public building. I feel bad for Obama for the first time. Where the heck do they let the man light up?

Very good point I had forgotten about the White House being a non smoking building. As it is already very noticeable Obama does EXACTLY what Obama wants. Rules do not apply to him!

You gave me my laugh for the day here, Whiteheather. I laughed when I read the line about the pres "who smokes" but I almost fell off my chair when I got to the line about the "surgeon general who is obese". Seriously, I think we need healthcare reform and I've been trying to read what I can about the present system. Everything written about healthcare by the government or by private agencies is the most convoluted gibberish I've ever come across. The current hospital billing process is as secretive as a Cayman's bank account. I'm fairly certain we do not have enough competition in the market place to bring down premiums but the entire hospital discounting process is such a huge secret that I can't find data to support or disclaim whether that's true or not.....I empathize with the guy who doesn't understand it. I don''t either.

Happy to be of service. How can anyone pass any bill, especially one that 3 out of 4 Americans do not want, without reading and understanding it is beyond me!

The really sad thing is, this sounds like "politics as usual". I do think though, that we are at the point in our history where we have the most unqualified, disqualified and seriously dangerous people in positions of power than ever before. The foxes are in the hen house.

It has already gone way too wrong. I need healthcare, but I do not want this healthcare. It was funny to hear Stupak tell Pelosi what was in the bill and which page. He has obviously read more of it than most people.

I agree we need a health care overhaul but not this way. It really irks me that seniors who have paid into Medicare funds all their working life now Obama wants to take 400 billion dollars out of it to pay for his pet projects and also push the USA even deeper in debt.

Cut down on med cost DOnt cost thast much to make the pills any way .and go back to the meds that really worked on the problem with out all these side effects

So Obama smokes? I didn't know that. Interesting. I think he is due in Australia this month, with his family. The chairman of the committe doesn't understand his own health care plan? The Congress will pass something without reading it? The treasurey chief doesn't pay his taxes? It all sounds hopeless to me and very, very incompetent.

A lot of the health care issues could be solved by allowing the free market to take over, competition encouraged across state lines. That would bring down the price to affordable levels, I think. You're right, there is nothing good that will come out of this. Throw the bums out in the next few elections and let them know we demand to be fairly represented. I'm encouraged by people in both parties saying it's a bad bill. Remember, though, it's not about health care. It's about controlling the people and gaining leverage over them!

"It's about controlling the people and gaining leverage over them!" That is so true and the politicians are making it very obvious that is all they care about!

Despite what view I hold on politics in general, I still think our country is one completely idiotic. We always spout off the phrase do not do un to others that you would have done un to you, or something along those lines. Basically don't go spouting off advice you yourself can't fallow, but then why do we do it Its in my opinion that those that spout this stuff off are ashamed of the things they are doing, but don't have the courage to set a good example.
