Morgana's Toybox...

So last night I went through and cleaned out our cat, Morgana’s, toybox. It’s a small box that is under one of our coffee tables and has several of her little toys in it. I found lots of candy wrappers, pieces of string, junk she’s grabbed off the floor and one of my picture hooks. I also took all her stuffies and tossed them in the washer along with her little finger toys. I think it’s probably been about a year since I did it last. I also wash her blanket that she sleeps on, about every two weeks. She hates when I do it but it needs to be done. Do you ever wash your pets toys, clothes or bedding? Do they seem to mind or do they like it? What kind of odd things to you find in their toys and stuff? **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I do but everytime I do she will not sleep on her bed for about two or three days it is like she has lost her smell in her bed, but she gets right back on it after a couple of days and I see her snuggling down like she appreciates it.

Well, we've only had our cat, Cornbread for almost a month now so he really doesn't have very many toys. Thus, cleaning his toys has not been something that we have to do yet. But, we do have two dogs that get really angry at us when we have to wash their toys. And, our youngest dog has her very own blanket that she doesn't like to be out of her site as well. Sometimes I think that our pets are more spoiled than my children are.

The other roommate, J, picks up the cat toys when she cleans and we will find them, sometimes weeks later where she "puts" them (hides them more like it!)

My dogs know just one thing about their toy basket--root through it and scatter the toys everywhere! They don't stash things in there, I'm the only one that uses it for storage. I wish I could teach them to pick up their toys! They really need new ones, all their toys are old and tattered. I need to make them some new ones--Gus is so strong that most toys from the store don't even last a day.

Everytime i go through the Kat family toys. Bubba likes the toys better than the girls do. He keep taking the little catnip filled mice and doing i do not know what with them. Once i found where he had a bunch of them stashed ina pile. I didnt know cats did that. I put them back into the toy box but they soon disappeared again. I believe he may be eating them coz sometimes i never see them again. Or he may be stashing them everywhere. He meows loudly when he cant find them. He had a great big rat that i cant find anywhere either. Kitty will sleep on newly washed beds but if one of the others lay on it she will not go back to it till its washed again. She is mom to the other two an wont eat canned food from the same dish. She has to have her own dish and served last. Sissy and Bubba eat from the same double dish at the same time but any other time Sissy growls when ever Bubba comes near her. Who can figure them out.

I wash all the dog's bedding twice a week, I tell her it's time to get rid of the other dog that sleeps with her. I get another dog worth of hair each time I wash. This way I keep the smell and the hair under control.

For some reason the cats here (There are two) don't play much with store bought toys. They seem to always prefer bits of string, pens left on tables, old bags etc. So we don't really have much to wash. Eventually every thing gets thrown away.

I washed my dog's dog bed this morning in the washer. I'm glad it is easy to wash, and it doesn't fall apart when it goes in the dryer either. I wash any of his toys made of cloth material by hand. I have lost a couple of his toys in the washing machine before, because they seemed to unravel sometime during the load. So every couple of months I hand wash his toys and let them air dry.

my crew seems to prefer to make their own toys-such as paper towel rolls,or milk rings if they can steal them. i used to have a cat we nicknamed the "little magpie" because he'd always steal shiny things and stuff them under the coffee table.. their toys usually don't need washing..usually.. but i try to wash bedding on a regular basis.my oldest boy needs to get off his favorite blanket so i can wash it matter of fact.he looks so comfortable tho,i haven't the heart to move him right now.

I wash my dog's blanket, and hand washed some of her toys. This dose not seem to bother her. She dose not like her balls to get dirty. She spits them out and makes a funny face. I have to laugh at her.

I wash the blankets but I usually have to throw the toys away because, they "made mincemeat out of that mouse." So there isn't much left when they get done.

I usually wash dragons toys every weekend - dog slobber can get kinda nasty! Her bedding i switch around each weekend as well. Especially in the spring time on the farm! Otherwise my house smells like a dog who's been rolling in cow poop!

I never wash their toys, but I do wash their bedding. My cats love the milk rings, the plastic that up pull of before you pop the top off of a milk jug. I let them play with them and they will put them in their toy box. Some times I will go behind they and throw a few away. How many do they really new?

For the most part we are the cats' toys. They play with us and anything that they can make roll, or steal from us. They are also like the 900 pound gorilla, and sleep wherever they want to. Usually on something freshly washed, of course. I have to wash things that Tiger has slept on because he sometimes drools awfully. I have to use a lint roller or something where Creamery has slept, because he is a lovely fur coat with feet. Princess is neat and tidy and wants to sleep on human bedspreads. The colored ones make her look beautiful in her glossy black coat.

Moomin has toys scattered all over the house, but he has his bed which has an old sheepskin on it. Not long ago I washed the sheepskin, it took ages to dry, but once it was back in his bed he was a very happy cat. I also found lots of old toy mice, some feathers on a string, and a cat treats bag.

I have washed my dogs toys and even a cat toy or two depending on what it is so to get them clean again and free of each others saliva till one gets a hold of it again. At first, they think it's a new toy till they get it dirty again. It's funny to watch them check it out. None of my gang mind their toys washed or their beds or blankets. However, my mom's fish hates it when his fish tank is cleaned. He'll run around the tank as if on a protest. But you know, he can breathe a whole lot better when it's clean!

Its a good thing to wash your pet's bedding and things. I do it! My dogs like to wear clothes. Every morning when the alarm goes off they run to their basket and get what they want me to put on them. Yes its true. So I am always washing their tshirts and blankets. I think I must do a load every other week. That's alot for two small dogs. They dont seem to mind me washing their things. They do however get PO'd when I try to put their toys away. When we go to bed my yorkie Dunkin grabs a toy to sleep with everynight. I find that really know what is theirs and they protect it. Your cat seems to a very lucky kitty! Happy MyLotting my friend. dl

I used to have to wash the dog toys once in a while but, since we got Dyna, none of them last long enough to need washing. Dyna has an old bedspread that she's *supposed* to sleep on and I wash that every couple of weeks. I don't think Dyna minds, but she does spend a lot of time sniffing it after I put it back down. She's either searching for her old smells or enjoying the new ones.
