I was pretty happy with the way it came out and the roomie loves it! And, in the end, isn't that what its all about, the person you make it for loving it?

It certainly is! The person loving the gift you made for them is definitely a bonus!

You made that? You certainly have a talent for shawl making.. ever thought of making a business out of it... awesome.

it was pretty easy, but it would cost about $50 for one that size and type, could make it less expensively, but it would still be more than one of those "snuggies" but, it wouldn't be open in the back like they are I think $20 would be the least I could go and that wouldn't have the cute kitty print Mine is only one layer (the kitty one) and it was $20 for about a foot less and only measuring and cutting.

Certainly very resourceful.. You can try to sell it online, or I think you already have..?

Very pretty and well worth the time and money to make it. I hope it serves you well for many winters to come.

its for the roomie and that's her modeling it, but she is really happy with it, and we can just hope it'll be cold enough again so she can use it this winter!

we got in from running around and I had a bit of a chill, so I was wearing mine for a bit. Warmed up now, but it sure did feel good when I needed it!

I like that the pattern looks real. Most kitty stuff is cartoony.

I know what you mean, I don't mind cartoony, but really like the real looking stuff!

It looks like you did a good job! I like the print and purple is one of my favorite colors. Maybe you could sell some of the things you make at a craft show or something and make some extra money!

but then you have to buy table space and that's money and if you don't sell any... well, your out both the material and the table kitties and purple, the roomie's favorites (mind you she's totally color blind, but likes the word purple...)

Yes I guess the only way it would be worth it, is if you have a lot of product. I have never looked into it, as I have only made 1 thing from scratch and if you have to buy the kits or materials, you would have to charge too much to make any profit! As long as she likes what she sees in her mind that's all that matters. My favorite color is probably purple also, both the color and the word.

Nice, it looks complicated to make. You did a great job.

It was really easy, the hardest thing was to get the two pieces of fabric to lay flat together!

Its a very pretty cat design on the fabric. Is the shawl for you? Did you follow a pattern or design it yourself?

it is a cute pattern (the back is upside down... and while I didn't design it, I didn't have an actual pattern either I took a shawl she had that she likes, but is a bit too light weight and made this, but she wanted it double layered, so I had to sew it up, then turn it right sides out and finish it, so I also had to know how to do that (and match up 2 fabrics that really didn't want to be together... they were trying to wrinkle but they ended up flat in the end!) Now, I made one like it, but only with the cute kitties fleece so it was a simple cutting job...

Oh wow! Congratulations on the beautiful kitty shawl that you made! I wish I could make that kind of stuff! Although I did crochet my oldest a blanket when she was first born! I wanted to make one for my second child (she's 5 months now) but I completely forgot how to do it!

Its not really a gift, she bought the fabric, even the threads, but I did the work - she also got me enough of the kitty fleece to make one for me - mine didn't have to be as heavy tho, my room isn't as cold as the one she works in

the fleece came with the kitties, but that was the lighter weight fleece, so we lined it & made it reversible with the heavier purple fleece...

Hey Elic! I think you did an incredible job! I love it! The kitties look like they are lying all over her! Can you make us all one too? I am so jealous! Really came out beautiful! She is a lucky roomy to have such a talented roomy/friend! I don't see the purple, but maybe the kitties are lying on it!lol

if you check out some of the wreath pix, you can see the inside of the shawl with the purple showing I'd upload the pix but the computer isn't letting me at the moment....

That is so good! You are clever, I so envy clever creative people like you. I don’t make anything; I just don’t have the patience. The shawl looks beautiful; all those cats are so effective. I received your discussion via email and I had to come and have a look, I’m glad I did because not only the shawl is lovely but I was wondering what you meant when you said you cut the head off intentionally!

I was wondering when someone would mention that! I also knew the roomie didn't want her face to be seen!
