I have noticed that the gas is slowly creeping up again, cent by cent! I hate it because that is where it hits my money the most is when the gas is not stable and I am always using different amounts to pay! The reason it goes up and down is mainly supply and demand! If there is a demand and not enough supply then it goes up. If there is a large supply and not much demand then the price goes down! It really starts annoying me! Happy MyLotting!

I know it really is crazy on 15 dollars I get only half a tank. Its just not fair to us the consumer while these oil companies are lining their pockets.

What do you you mean 4 or 5 cents? Ours went from $2.47 to $2.69. Last week it was $2.39 and jumped to $2.59. It jumps all that and goes down a couple of cents a day and then jumps big like that at least once a week. It is crazy.

I don't think there is a reason, they raise it at the least provocation or as their whims go. I saw gas rise from $2.35 one day to $2.64 the next for no apparent reason.
I think the only thing we can do is reduce our demand. The free market will set the price if we reduce demand. I'm lucky that I drive only about 30 miles a week, I feel sorry for those who have to drive a lot every week.
If we could just break free of oil we could influence the price but Big Oil has control of our alternative sources--sabotaging innovations and in some cases I've even heard inventors have met untimely deaths when they came up with alternative sources. Our government is in bed with Big Oil, too many people profit from it who are involved in the government. We need to take our government back from the greedy.

I totally agree with you on all points. I feel like the oil and government have us by the you know what. I feel we are all being taken for a ride and we should all stop driving. Wouldn't it be great if everyone everywhere for a week did not fill up with gas. I bet the price would go down real fast then.

Hello my friend lelin..I think it is like a domino affect once the price would rise up from the World Market it would also affects on each countries..In our country this is the reason why we have so many rallies because it is not only our gas has risen up but also on our other basic commodities...Cheers!!!

Oh yeah! It's been creeping back up again. Usually I only gas up at nights so I can save the 4 or 5 cents, but lately it doesn't matter what time I gas up, it's been quite expensive lately. I've heard the explanation once when I was still into business programs on TV. But I've learned since then that it's just added problems to worry about. So now, I just see the price and gas up just the same. And like everybody else, I complain about the prices once in a while.

Exactly.. I was looking at the notice in one of the gas stations I've been to, and true enough, the prices have gone up a little. I don't take note by how many, because a hike in price is a hike no matter what.. just felt frustrated there and then. If only gas prices can be cheaper.. if only. Hmmmmmmm...I think it might go up in months to come too, but hopefully I'm wrong.

The reason because they go up is because they can & know that we will have to pay whatever price they put on it. We have no choice. Ifilled up my jeep thurs. & paid 42.59. last time i filled up is what $2.45. Thank heavens that tank full will last me a long time. No telling what it will be the next time. Happy weekend.

The gas companies raise the prices because they can. There are only so many oil companies and they are in collusion with each other and the car companies.
The car companies want you to use dirty gasoline engines because they make more money selling gasoline engine parts than electric engine parts. See the movie "Who killed the electric car?". Americans have been convinced that they need Hummers and other gas guzzlers instead of the more luxurious smaller cars that Eurpeans and Japanese drive. The one segment where the guy says gas was a dollar a gallon more this year than last and there are trillions of gallons yet to pump out of the ground means there are trillions of dollars of profit yet to be made.
In order to maintain the supply of oil, Americans send their youth to die on foreign soil. Oil is expensive, life is cheap. Imagine what a frustration and irony it is that all that oil that America needs is buried under foreign middle east sand. What kind of cruel joke is God pulling?
Until the United States gets its act together, and I say the United States because they use the majority of the world's oil, and cuts its dependence on foreign oil, they will continue to pay the price whenever there is a minor threat to the supply. Some gunmen take a hostage in Nigeria, the price goes up. War is threatened in the middle east, the price goes up. Some middle east or African dictator gets diarrhea, the price of oil goes up.
As the recession recedes, the price of oil will go back up as demand resumes. Guess what folks, most of the known oil reserves have already been discovered and is being depleted as we speak, oil will never be really cheap again until the next recession.

Well, there are many possible reasons for that. The prices tend to grow in a natural way, so it's normal that everything is getting more expensive. Second, there might have been some accidents or disasters at the oil facilities, or perhaps some gas companies have declared that they are going to reduce amounts of oil to be gathered. What I want to say, is that negative news from oil market can raise the price of oil too. It's hard to tell the exact reason, so I named some possible options there.

It stays about the same around here. It's frustrating, though, because I can't go as many places I would like to
. It gets boring staying at home so much. Sometimes it can get lonely, too. I don't know why gas prices keep going up unless it's because they always go up before summer like one mylotter said. I just hope they never go back up to $4.00 a gallon again
! That was ridiculous! Kathy.

The reason fuel keeps jumping and dropping is because of the random costs of oil. Gass is a large part oil mixed with water and a couple other cemicles to turn it from a liquid to well a gass that lubercates stuff to make it fuction properally. And its the oil thats off-shore that is costing an arm and a leg, and witout it no gass.

That is the difference between Europe and the US. You guys are use to paying so much for gas. The US isn't. I believe if it ever became that much here people would be forced to find another way to get around especially with the economic problems we and the world are facing at this time.
