Have you ever thougth or wondered why there are a lot of violent event that brings about great loss and destruction on every corner of the world? Jusy recently, we were all shocked by the sad news that Haiti was strucked by a 7+ magnitude earthquake, Floods in Asia and Europe and just last week, another 8.5 earthquake hit Chile. The eartquakes that's been happening lately are really strong...and happens right after the other. On one part of the world, there is drought while the other part is experiencing too much flooding. Now, my question is.. are these signs that the earth is about to end? Or these are just the result of what we have done to it. If these are caused by human abuse, can we still do something about it. CAN WE STILL SAVE OUR MOTHER EARTH?

i know we are slowly killing the planet but its not like its just about to end or some sort of natural calamity will suddenly kill all the life over the earth....but yes we can prevent the earth from mass extinction... this mass extinction will gradually occur over the next few decades maybe somewhere around 2050 to 2080(provided we keep on destroying the nature and increasing the global temperature at the present rate)but it can be prevented if we tend to preserve the resources go green(and im not talking about the fashionable colour of the season) save fuel try walking or cycling , u can even go vegetarian(yes it saves resources).... try these ways u can find many others over the net....if we follow even one of these than we can work for betterment of earth...

Disasters like in Haiti usually bring out the best in humanity as we try to help one another. Maybe that is the silver lining here.

That was a beautiful thought my Friend. But it also saddens me to know that we humans will only show our love and care for others only after tragic events. Thanks

Although we are abusing this world more than we should, I don't think its nearing an end just yet. Sure, natural disasters have been scarily frequent as of late, but I don't think it is time to worry about the apocalypse just yet

All this thing about the end of the World now is like the World terror about influenza. It was just a different variety of influenza that killed the same as the influenza we all have known does, but suddenly the newspapers and tv programs made people panic. There have always been natural disasters, and there will always be. If the world comes to an end, it will be because we contaminate too much, distroy forests and not care enough to recycle, for example. Taking care of that would be a good way to save this World.

This is a good question and hope that all of us should wonder how can we save mother earth? because I think if we question ourselves that would be a good start that we do care about mother earth. Spread the word so that we can inspire other people to help by starting within then step by step I know we can even though its a long process at least we are starting to change. This is for our future children. God bless everyone.

All of these recent events probably has a lot of us wondering what is going on but I do not believe that the world is near its end. It has been very sad what has happened where the earthquakes and flooding has happened. Of course, we can still save our planet as we need to continue to recycle and stop polluting the air and stop killing trees and more. There are probably many other things that can be done to help our planet.

Aw, it must now come to an end! Look how miserable we have made our and everybody else's life all around us. Life is so fast paced a race, but is anybody really happy? We are certainly heading towards our doom. We have abused the nature and I believe that nature cant take the toll anymore.

I do not believe the world is on it's end, in fact I believe the world is on a start to a new beginning. Disasters aren't all bad, even though they seem to be bad, they do spike certain things and create opportunities. The Mayans (or Aztecs) believed the Earth would end in 2012 I believe. This was a big load of bogus to me, I feel the world will continue to go on, with it's setbacks, but develop in the future.
