Monday Morning.... I get up at 5am, hardly slept the Night at all, Gissi jumps in the warm spot and goes back to sleep I shower, get dressed and start packing the rest of the Stuff, then take little Man out who is very confused by this time
Removal turns up and I have to put Gissi in the car as he is getting in every ones way
Loaded up and of we go, of course I get the sneezes and that all the way to the new Place
Everything is being unloaded and myself and D start getting things done D is putting the bed up and things like that
By 3am I am so tired, D has to go and tells me NOT to do any more, well I just could not sit there and look at box after box, Gissi is very depressed, he keeps looking at me wanting to know what is going on
That Night I worked till 12.30am, I put Gissi's Chair up for him, got his Cushion and Chewy's for him, got the Living room to look like a living room
But Gissi was not happy at all, I was close to tears to see him so sad
He slept on the bed next to me all Night which is not like him as he loves his bed
The next morning he was no better, well I had to go and get a bit of shopping in so I had to leave Gissi, I told him I will be back, he looked sad and a bit scared, but I had to go and get some shopping
I had been up since 5am and got quite a bit more done
I set of and rushed around to get back as possible to Gissi, well when I walked in after an hour of being away I got treated like I had been gone for Months, but since then Gissi has been fine, I think he thought I was leaving him in a strange Place and not come back since then though he has been fine, but he is worse with mischief then before
He can now lie in the Bathroom when I am in the Shower, he will lie there and woof under his breath, till I threaten to put him in the Shower with me, this morning he managed to smack the door on my Head, I was bending down to pick something up and Gissi decides to barge through the Door, this was at 5.45am, what a wake up, I had to get a new Curtain Pole, as the Rail came crshing down the other Night scared the Life out of Gissi and out of me, well as I am dragging the Pole in Gissi is chasing it, his chair is now a lot closer to the Settee, so if he wants attention, he will stand up and look over the Laptop s if to say, hey I am here, I had to laugh at him as he looked so funny,
Yesterday we found a massive Field only 5 minute work, Gissi was in his element, chasing all the other Dogs, getting run over by Puppy Staffordshire, which I found funny, as Gissi gave him a right evil look lol, then they where chasing one another, then Gissi took interest in a Greyhound, who looked at him with contempt, then he met a little Dog called Daisy, she would bark and bark, Gissi ran away from her
Well it was freezing out there, I told Gissi time to come home now, he ran of, I told him to get here now, he came to me with his head down, as I go to put the Lead on, he charges of, so I said bye to him and started to walk away well he charged up behind me jumped up at the back of my Leg
nearly sent me flying, I put his Lead on and we came home
So Gissi has survived the Move and has settled now and of course he is still so tired, it is hard work to sleep while I am unpacking you know
So how does your Pet react to changes????

Hi gabs, I'm pleased that Gissi handled the move so well but it seems to have been more difficult for you with all the late hours. One of my nephews who is disabled moved recently and he still has so much to do. He has a dog and a turtle as pets but I think they managed the move very well. Blessings.

WEll sounds like all is well now and ya getting settled in real good.
AS ya know our dogs moved alot with us usually Fang had to be in same car as CHerokee if we were moving to the same place.
I remeber one time we had stopped to go get a room and Fang jumped out of pickup and liked to hung himself as we had him all harnessed in and it did let his feet touch the gron but he was a happy feller when I let him out of it.

It sounds like you and Gissi are getting settled into your new place. I am sure the little man has some mixed emotions about all the changes. He will be back to normal soon. When he figures things out, he will be a lot better. Don't worry so much about him. He is smart and it won't take him too long to settle in.

When I moved to my new house in 2005, I had two Shelties, Mystique and Sundance. They wouldn't leave my side for months, but they finally got use to their three doggie doors they have to use to go outside, the backyard, the roads we take walks on, etc. The only thing I haven't gotten use to is running up on a rattlesnake. The dogs have been fine so far, but I give them snake shots, just in case.

lol, poor Gissi...and poor mum...
It is hard on them moving to a new home. They are so insecure for a time.
Mine are like that although they have only moved from where they were to here. We have not moved all together. I have been in this house going on 14 years and plan to stay here.
My babies do however react to new things or if I leave.
When their dad comes home and leaves again. They are so excited when he comes home and are glued to him for a few days, except when I go to bed then they are right with me. lol
When he leaves and we start talking about him leaving in a day or two or tomorrow, then they get upset and start dragging around the home with head down and being sad.
It's something they react to him leaving so much.
When I leave without them the baby (Jackie) whines and hollers and cries out, he wants to go too. They all go to the door and sometimes I have trouble getting out.
Ninja since he has been going to the vet twice a week for his injections thinks that every time I leave that he is suppose to go too. Some times he rushes me and knocks me out of the way to get out. Now mind you he is a huge boy weighting 145 pounds of pure muscle. lol
Ninja and the other boys will wait outside laying in their fenced area watching down the road for us to return, then when they see us they run to the other side of the home so they can see us drive up and then they run into the house to greet us at the door.
If I have bags they want to go through them to find their toys or treats. They are so funny.

Hi Moondancer
They are like Gissi lol, as soon as I come in from shopping he looks through the Bags for his treats and once he has found the bag he sits nice in front of it, so before I can unpack I have to give him a treat if I don't he will bounce of my Leg until I do lol and that get sore after a little while lol
Big Hugs to you xxx

Thank you so much for the best response Gabby. My words here remind me of all I'm going to miss about Ninja. I took him back to the vet Saturday(yesterday) for his injection and I had the vet look at him again, because it looked to me that his tumor is bad and in it's full glory. They confirmed my fears! I have now been told that it's up to me when I have him put to sleep. Gabby, I'm so upset. I just can not and do not want to lose my big boy, He is my baby. He has been my shadow for 7 years. He is too young for this to happen. He is just 8 years old. I have taken excellent care of him.
He has been my constant companion and confidant. My son left to go back to Mississippi yesterday because of his girlfriend. Now I am alone again. I'm going to try to wait for 2 weeks for when my husband gets home...if Ninja can wait until then. Then we will take him. I just can not do this alone.
I also have 3 little guys that love their big brother so much. The baby looks up to him and follows him everywhere. He even goes to get him up asking him to go out with him when he wants to go. Many times he waits for Ninja to go out before he will.
Ninja does go out and watches over him and the others from the porch when they go out. He just makes sure everything is okay and waits for them to start back in before he comes in. He looks so grand standing out there so proud watching over his brothers as they roam around the yard.
We are all going to miss him so much.
I cry off and on all day and during the night. I try not to let anyone know when I am though. I love my babies so much. Gabby, I'm going to be lost without my Ninja.
I must go now as the tears are flowing too much and I can not see now.
HUgs to you and Gissi. Forgive me for going on like this.

Aw sounds like Gissi is settling in just fine now hun.
Moomin seems to react fairly well to changes. I had a friend come to live with me for a while last year and within 10 minutes Moomin was happily playign with her and asking her for fuss. He's fairly good when it comes to going to the vet although he isn't too keen on his travel basket.

Sounds like Gissi is at the tail end and should be completely settled soon! We haven't moved since we got Katie (our shihtzu) but when she first came she was pretty lost. She went in her house quite a bit but within a few hours or so she really took to us and was fine. Now she is best friends with my girls and acts like the big protector when she's maybe 10 pounds soaking wet!
Plus not to mention she is barely 2 feet off the ground too!

Yep, I think it's freakin hilarious when they act all big and macho! One time I took Angelina to the park while I was pregnant with Chloe and hubby was at work. Anyway, Katie and I were sitting on the bench watching Angelina play and a dog with no leash on came charging for the play area that Angelina was in and Katie seriously started freaking out. She tried to wiggle her way loose and she was NOT happy that this dog was running over to Angelina like that! She barked and growled showing her teeth, it was funny!
I say it was funny because this dog was twice her size and could have eaten her for a snack!
It turned out that the dog was really friendly and just wanted to play. A few minutes later a little girl came walking into the park, called the dog over, and put him back on the leash!

I'm glad Gissi handled the move so well Gabs. Much better than some dogs I know. It sounds like he's back to his old self with some new twists! LOL Is his mouth all better now?
My Spunky hardly ever gets bothered by change. She's looks at it as an adventure and opportunity. She travels so very well for a big dog. Her only real problem is that she won't do her business anywhere but her own area in her dog pen, and that can make her very uncomfortable if we are away for a day or two. lol
I wish I could bring her with me. She and Gissi would be a hoot together! LOL

All my pets did well when we moved but my Galeena.
She was so nervous and I hated it and now she is in a
yard and I hate that too but it's bet this way for her and
me too.
I had to give her one pill to start the long trip from MT to Ok.
and a half almost home.
She was groggy but in all honesty she didn't do too bad.
She' a lab and hyper. I love her to pieces tho.
I am sooo glad you are ok Gabs.
hugs,
quita

YOu will be fine. Gissi will be fine even tho he can't charge about so much LOL
I went to a SS dr yeterday and they did tests on me to see how much damage to my heart---I already showed them the reports from Montana but no! let's do this again and waste some more of our tax dollars !
Anyway, don't know what they found out but only two more apts to go and this should be all over.
We are having more storms here. There was a tornado not too far from her two days ago. Let's hope there is not another one brewing today.
God bless.

Moving is such a huge thing. None of my critters except for Lucy has had to go through it and it has never bothered her. I have always been a constant in her life. My rescues have taken a while to settle in . I've had Tulip just over 2 years now and she came to me and let me stroke her for a while the other day and that's a first. She usually scampers off. Her eyes were getting sleepy as I stroked her jaw and scratched between her horns. it was lovely to be able to make her feel nice. The other goat, Barley has only been with us about 6 months. I think he is comfortable here now but he is still wary of not upsetting Pickles. He's not aggressive but he's not quite tame either. Both Tulip and Barley are much better off here with me and the rest of the critters.

Hi Gabs! So great to see that you and Gissi are doing alright
after the big move! Even though you are tired and the little
man is having a bit of trouble adjusting, I am still happy to
know that you two are getting settled! And glad to know that
Gissi is already making new friends! I never doubted that with
his "charming" personality that he would have any trouble making
new friends! And don't you worry either Gabs, because you will
have a whole bunch of new friends soon too! I know that it has
been really hard on you to get settled and with all the other
stuff that has happened, but it seems that you and Gissi are
doing just fine and I am so glad to hear that your place is
beginning to feel alot more like home for both of you! Please
don't overdue! Take your time and rest! You have plenty of time
to get the place looking the way you want it to! And as for our
little man, he will adjust! He knows his Mum isn't going to leave
him! And tell him that his Auntie Leslie and Cousins Star & Luna
love him so much! And hopefully very soon he might have a big
surprise! He might be able to see a nice photo of his Cousins
if his Auntie can get some help uploading the photos from their
Uncle Jay! He is my "computer guy" and I am going to have him
upload some photos for me as soon as I take some good ones of
the boys! I will start a special discussion so that everyone can
finally meet them! He brought over a new printer yesterday that
makes the photos just like they do in the photomats! It is so
cool! I just need some practice! And he helped me to fix my
camera so I will start taking more pics of the boys and see what
I can do! I love you both so much! Love and Hugs, Leslie, Star & Luna

It sounds as though Gissi is doing well. We moved to the house we live in around nine years ago when our dog Cassie was around three years old. In the old house she used to sleep outside in her kennel which was a really long way from the house which I hated but she seemed to love. When we move to the house we’re in now, her kennel went in the porch which is practically inside the house. I thought that was great but Cassie was so unhappy, she hated the change so much. She slept inside the first night and cried all night; we let her go outside because she was scratching at the door and although quiet for about half an hour she started crying out again; this went for three nights and eventually she stopped and settled down. It was heart breaking to listen to her but there was nothing we could , she just had to adjust to the new place and that she did and she’s been a happy dog every since...Happy ending...Make sure you get your rest!
