Are you too proud to beg?

Do you know how to beg? - Begging and wanting something

Last night, my 3-year old woke up at 1:30AM and wanted to eat some mac 'n cheese. I was sleepy and wanted to ignore him, but he kept on begging. The begging went on for several minutes, so I gave in. And he had his snack at that ungodly hour. So, my question is have you begged for something lately? From whom did you beg? And what was it for? Or don't you resort to begging?

I don't beg much unless I really really really really want it. I think being spoiled is a bad habit. The more you have the more you want so I avoid getting to much.

Like Father Like Son? Yes, in terms of the mac n' cheese, or even just the eating at unlikely hours! Mine comes in the form of burgers.

hi bounce well yes in a way I have a bad leg and am physically handicapped in that I cannot walk more than a short block, a nd my bank is just a bit too far for me so I pleaded with my adult son to come visit his poor mom and deposit some money which she will give him in the atm machine for her so she can pay the bills that come in. he was very kind and did give in to my plea, I do not like to beg as usually I can do for myself. I may have a brace on my left leg and walk with a quad cane but I do have some pride.

Hi Hatley. In your case, I don't like to call it begging. If it were my mom, I would tell her not to beg, and to just let me know. Anything like that I would feel is my obligation to the people who brought me up in this world anyway. Congratulations to you! It seems like you brought up one fine kid, that likes to help mum every now and then.

Does begging for goals count, or for goalies to stop goals or for Nashville to lose a few games? Other than that I don't beg, wouldn't beg and can't ever remember ever doing so.

I guess those count as begging! Me, I just want to beg the hockey gods for healthy bodies down the stretch and possibly through the playoffs. And maybe some lucky bounces here and there!

No I am not too proud to beg for something that i really needed. It was during my high school years that I got lazy doing school works that I have to beg my best friends help. He is much more wiser and intelligent than me so he makes a lot of high grades better than me actually. So I have to make pleading or beg for his help even do sometimes he is feed up with me. Lately...I have not beg for anything yet in my life. But if time will come that situation really calls for it then I will do it again. There's nothing wrong with begging as long you knew it's good for you.

Hello reckon21. I guess, that's one way to look at it. It's all a matter of opinion anyway. If you're the one doing the begging, and you don't see anything wrong with it, then I guess it's fine. Thanks for the response.

I have not begged for anything lately. Of course, this very simple fact could be for one reason and one reason only. I never had anything that I had to resort to begging in recent months. I guess it is one of two things. Either everything was easy to get with minimal prodding or I really did not desire to get anything that would require me to descend to such levels. To be honest, as I get older, I find myself only resorting to begging as a last ditch resort. However, when I was younger, as in a child, I begged for things all of the time. With varying degrees of success, depending on if I caught my parents in a good enough mood or not. These days, I feel like I have no need to beg for anything. I am not sure if I feel as if I am lowering myself to begging or what but as of late, I have

It is good if you have not resorted to begging recently, or ever. It just means you are secure in whatever status you are in. It also means that there is nothing that would sway you to swoop down to lower levels. Thanks for the response.

Well, it depends on the person. Here I go again, qualifying my answer. :-) I don't normally beg but when it comes to family, I'm not hesitant to beg at all. Sometimes, my family views my begging with fondness. My brother is the most frequent victim of my begging. LOL. I ask him to do a lot of things for me, usually computer and technology-related stuffs which I am not that familiar with. He's my personal computer/IT technician. With my mom (and my dad before). I usually beg for delicious meals, their specialty, of course. With my dad, it's always his chicken adobo, and with my mom, any homecooked meal.

I bet it's nice to have family around to beg for things you want. Same here. Whenever I am at my parent's house, which is not often, I would ask my mum to cook me my favorite home-cooked meals. She normally doesn't cook anymore, but she would make an exception when I am home. And my dad, he would drive me to one of the old stores in town that makes fresh hopia. And I would stuff my face until I can't eat anymore.

hell0! well, i am not and i haven't been too proud to beg for something, maybe i am too shy to do it, because I am really ashamed when I have to beg for some money or something else from my friends, because I actually borrow it, but i always think, they are probably thinking that i will forget about it and they will not get the money or the thing they have given to me back!

Hi phoenix8606. I hope you don't equate your shyness with pride. Although it's a good thing not to beg, I think there are just times when we need the help of other people. Just a few to lean back, when we're in trouble. Thanks for the response.

I think my eyes beg when my mouth says nothing. I was watching my son eating Rolos and he just handed me the packet and said 'oh go on then!' Hehe I got the last one! Not that I would have asked for it but it did taste lovely.

I think that's the best kind of communication! Where in you don't have to put it in words. Let your eyes do the talking. It's less awkward for you too, I guess! But, I think it only works for people we really know. Thanks for the response.!

When i was still studying i used to beg for additional allowance or an extension of my curfew but then i know there are limitations to it. Now i haven't tried begging coz i also got my pride. Since i have been able to handle things on my own yet so i don't see the point of begging. But if things might not get better(which i do hope this won't happen), i can always turn to my parents for help.

Hi pinklady227. It's great that you've associated your begging days as part of a lesson to be learned in life. And good to know that you've gotten yourself a little bit of pride. But nonetheless, it is a big factor that we could alway count on our parents as fall-backs if ever we stumble in life. Thanks for dropping by.

I do beg but only for the things I really want. not for material things. I know how to get satisfied.
