Hi mylotters, I was trying to sign in paypal for checking the status of paypal whether is it possible to send personal payment. To my surprise after giving the id and password they asked mobile number and PAN number for updating information. I don’t have a PAN number I felt difficulty to sign in or check my account. Do you have any such experience? Do you have a PAN number?

I have a PAN number, but I tried to update my account on paypal with my PAN number the transaction did not materialize. I think asking for PAN number is another invasion on our private details and I do not appreciate sharing such details.

Hi Deepak, But I think you have to share the details if you want to continue with paypal. Paypal is very necessary since you make money online. So please think again and do wisely. Have a great time.

Hi farida, Ok dear no problem, I will tell you. PAN card is issuing by the Income Tax Department in India. Means PAN card number is needed for Indians only. So you need not worry about this. I forgot to mention this thing in my discussion and I am sorry for that. Can you please tell me then how do you get money through online if there is no service by paypal in your place. Which is the alternative payment method for you in mylot. Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi Farid, First of all I am sorry to call you 'farida, I just made short name to call you easily from your username. If the government can take steps to initiate paypal service in your country, it will be benefited for all members in Bangladesh. I know some other members from Bangladesh but I don’t know how they are managing the payment issue. At present you can raise the pay out amount and wait for the services of paypal. I hope the paypal service will be available to your country very soon. Best of luck.

Hey Sreekala, My name is Farid Ahmed, not Farida. I've been myLotting since December 2009, not for long. I', on myLot not only for earning money, but also for my own pleasure. As long as PayPal service isn't activated in Bangladesh, I'll not be paid. But the IT professionals of Bangladesh trying their best to request Bangladesh Govt. to take measures in this concern. There are some Bangladeshi members on myLot who've been waiting for this. Pray to Allah for us so that PayPal becomes available here as soon as possible. Or else, we'll request myLot to give us the chance to payout our myLot income through Alertpay or Moneybookers. Have a great day.

Hi sreekala, Ya I have my PAN number for last 4 years, I do many project works under NGOs and Govt. authorities so I get fund from them many times, and the TDS cut from my fund, to receive that back (claim to IT dept.) I need PAN No. so I made in few years back and I got many benefits having PAN card. You should make a PAN card by applying to local agents it's very they need only your PHOTO ID and Address ID and the expenditures of few Rupees.

At home my hubby has the PAN card so I didn't think to apply for one. Thank you very much for the information. Have a nice day.

I really don’t know what’s going on and why but at least I have a PAN number though I don’t carry it with me. Now I’ll have to go home and get the number and only then can I log in. but then they are asking for mobile no. too…now I don’t have any mobile neither do I intend to ever buy one…are both of them compulsory? Could you log in finally?

Oh kala, Thanks so much…yes we are on the same boat dear and once again, I’ll piggy-ride my hubby LOL…I’ve been giving his mobile number at so many places that one of these days he’ll just throw up his hands in despair. Another great confusion (I’m being wicked at his expense) is in my name…you know Sudipta is a girl name but in Bengali we have the boy equivalent of this name which sounds like Sudipto…many people write it as Sudipta (a/o) so when I give my hubby’s number, people who don’t know me, think of my name a man’s and when my hubby answers, they start like Hi Mr. Sudipto/a…you gave us your mobile no…..(hilarious I tell you Kala!)…right now I’m rubbing my hands in glee as I think once again he’ll be in trouble with some bloke calling him up

Hi Sree! How are you doing? Yeah I did face that. I do have a PAN CARD but haven't quite given it there yet. I think, it is a good move taking all those notoriety that was going on through Paypal. Validation as per RBI's point is a good move, I guess. You can easily apply for your PAN NO online and get it soon. Every one should have it. this must be the new regulations which RBI wanted paypal to comply with. RBI is trying to plug in all the loopeholes in the financial system. I have a PAN number issued about a decade back. if you dont have a PAN, its easy to get one. some banks also help you in getting PAN.

Hi tulipstrader, It seems the new requirement came in payapl today only. Do you think, there will be any problem if I use my hubby’s PAN number as the paypal is linked with bank where we have a joint account?

Ok then, I too suspected the same because of the change of names. Thank you so much for providing more information.

if you have a joint account, it is generally the first person's PAN card that is asked for verification. you can deposit cheques drawn in your individual name and that can be deposited, but I doubt if you can use the same with Paypal as the PAN card bears the name of your husband. there will be problems and i suggest you not to do that as it might lead to suspension of your account with paypal. its better to get a PAN for yourself.

Hi Sreekala, it is mandatory now for all Indian account holders to furnish all the details like the PAN number, bank details and the mobile number. But in a way it becomes more regularised and I noticed that their coversion rate is the same as what banks give, earlier they gave such a poor rate .It is to keep track of our earnings that PAN number is needed...all the best Sreekala and happy mylotting

you are right. PAN is the Permanent Account Number issued to all Tax Payers in India. Many financial transactions, property transactions above a particular amount require one to quote the PAN. not quoting PAN can invite severe penalties.

Hi, Yesterday when I tried to log into my account I was asked for my phone number and my 10 digit PAN number.I updated both and only then could I access my account.I got my PAN card a year ago and now I am happy that it has come to use.It seems after all the issues with RBI about bank withdrawals, they have made it mandatory to update your PAN card details.I think you should get a PAN number soon as you will need it for all your income tax returns as well as for your online earnings, now that so many rules have been made. All the best my friend.

Hi knrsekar, The same problem faced with my other friends too. What about the names in your Paypal and the name in your PAN card. The responder - Arun- above your response - told me that if the name is not similar then it will create problems. Please check with that too. I hope paypal will reply to you soon and will solve the problem. Thank you much for the reply. Have a great weekend.
