Have you been billed for something you did not order?

Hi guys, Today I ate out with my friends for lunch and I was the one treating them out. We ordered food and was happily chatting until it was time to pay the bill. Most of the time I do not check bills but today I dunno but I read the bill and found out I was being charged for something we did not order! They were charging me for 2 more extra order of Margarita (in a pitcher) when what we had was this fruit shake! I called the waiter who billed us and kept insisting we ordered it instead of saying let me check again. I was quite pissed so I demanded to talk with the manager. I was glad it got straightened out, what happened was that the waiter confused our order with the next table who ordered the 2 sets of Margaritas! Have you ever been billed for something you did not order? How did you react?

Yes. Someone use my debit card to do purchase online. I spend lots of money on something I didn't order. Finally, I report that to the card company but can only get 70% of my money back

What just 70% back? honey, if I were you don't settle for that because you could get it all back. If you know an attorney have a your attorney write them because this is illegal. Also use single use credit cards when doing online shopping and shop only at secure websites. I wrote a tip on online shopping if you want to read more visit my profile. I hope you could get it all back.

I think I and other members of my family have been "overbilled" at shop. There were a few items I didn't buy added to my bill. All these cases happened when I was purchasing goods for a large sum, so the shop assistant would probably think that I won't notice some little extra things they will add to my bill. But I usually like to check the bill if I am bored and have nothing else to do and that's when I found out that I have been cheated on. I immediately returned to the store and demanded to get to talk to a manager. I managed to solve that problem every time and I think that dishonest shop assistant received his punishment.

Good thing bio! this should not be practiced by the store sellers. I know that some stores gives a commission if their employees hit a certain quota sometimes some people are desperate enough to get a commission that they do that in a very dishonest manner.

Yes mine was a mail order thing. I sent in for a nice necklace and it came but they put this ice pack things you put ice in for a headache or some such. Ugly and I never ordered them at all. I notified them of it right away and they were really good about it and took it right off and said keep the items they sent by mistake. I still have them and won't use them but they acknowledged their mistake and didn't make me pay for it.

Yes I took my car to a dealership before to get an oil change. When I went to pay the amount was really large. I looked at the bill they gave me, and discovered they had done work I didn't ask them to do. They had gone over the entire car, and decided that this and that needed work. There was nothing wrong with the car, it was a brand new car. I went to the service writer, and asked why all the work was done, and he explained the techs had found all these problems, and fixed them for me. Like I should be grateful to them. I explained I didn't want any of this work done, and there was nothing wrong with my car. I only needed an oil change. So they went to the guy that was suppose to change my oil, and asked him why the work was done, and investigated it, they found the guy hadn't even done any of the work to my car, he just wrote down that he did. I didn't pay anything, and the guy was fired.

wow that was a rip off! he was so dishonest and I guess by doing that he deserved to be fired! I think by writing off things that he did not do he gets an added commission, that's why he did that.

I know how you feel there. I have been billed for things as well. None to plesent of a thing eaither. Quite frankly I do not care to repeat the process if it all possible. Its one thing to pay for something I ordered, but to be billed for something I did not . And, or have money coming out of my checking account for products and services I suposedly canceled. Unacceptable.

It happened last week when my husband and I bought something in the supermarket and realize when we were at home already that we made for something we didnt order. I wanted to be angry at the sales lady of the that store because she was careless in putting that thing inside our bag and at the same time I was also angry at myself because I was also careless. I didnt watch her do all the billing and I ended paying for something we didnt like having. It was even almost a dollar so it was a waste of money for paying that item and we wont be able to use it.

I know exactly how you felt, it's like being ripped off, and it's not a nice feeling at all. Paying for something that you do not need is one of my pet peeves. Even if its just a dime money is still money and they do not grow on trees! You have to sweat it out to earn the last dime, so you would not want to pay something that is in excess and completely useless to you.

Yep. like once at the check out line the cashier had accidently rang up an item for another customer under me and I kind of had an experience like up there with the oil change deal. I only wanted an oil change and somebody in there replaced my windshield wipers which were still in perfect condition by the way and they then charged me for it. My boyfriend at the time got in their face about it and they gave my money back to me.

Yes. This happened at Shakey's a few years ago. I went there alone and had only a combo meal and a drink. When I asked for the bill, I was surprised to see entries that I didn't order. I told the lady that handed me the bill, so they changed it. When she gave me the new bill that the cashier altered, it contained additional entries again. If I didn't look at the bill carefully and just handed the money, they could have gotten away with it.

Yes, it ever happened before when I paid for my groceries. Somehow or other, the cashier accidentally scanned the product barcode more than once, and I ended up paying one product for the price of two. I didn't realize it until I reached home and checked the receipt for the prices of all the items I bought. Of course I was upset and felt cheated but I didn't go back to the store. I learnt my mistake. So nowadays, I always calculate the prices first before going to the cashier.

hell0 candyfairy! yes, I have been billed many time for things that I have actually not bought or ordered! in restaurants, cafes, shops, even in the cab once :) the last time was when I go to the supermarket to buy some supplies for the weekend and then I really buy a lot of things, because I don't think i have to go to the shop on Saturday and Sunady again, when i could buy all the things in friday night! so i went there and made my hand cart full of supplies. when I moved to the pay-desk, the seller marked all the products and I paid him. but when I came out and looked at the check I saw, that there were some things that I haven't bought- like sanitary towels, which attracted my attention a lot, because i am a boy i don't use these things :), also some shampoo which I even didn't knew how it looks! SO i just went back and told it all to the woman at the info desk, then she called the manager and it all went good. I gave back the check so that they can give me my money back!
