The Burden Of Proof Is On You Not Me

In the beginning of all of our lives we were all born non-believers. Then through life we learn of the concept of deities. We all learn that there is such a force that cannot be seen, touched, felt, measured, nor created. We are all exposed to this belief at an early age which we are the most vulnerable. True some of us do not begin to believe in this force until latter in life but the seeds of the concept are always planted early in life. So all believer in this force called a deity are converts, no one is born a believer. Yet when a believer is asked to prove anything that he or she is telling you, they tell you that they do not have to. You may get, "Well if you would just believe in my deity you will discover the proof for yourself". Who can forget, "I have a book that tells me so".
The burden of proof is on you, I as a non-believe have nothing to prove.

I don't need to prove you anything as I am not trying to convert you... You want to believe- then believe, don't want to believe- don't.
How about, you, with all these posts against religiong, give us some proofs that god does not exist?
It's easier to accuse others of something than to check whether you've done what you demanded from them.

Head in palm moment, I do not have to prove that there is not a deity. I know that is a double negative but oh well. If you believe that something exist it is your duty to prove that it exist. If I said to you that unicorns exist, I would have the burden of proof.

I told you, I didn't try to convert you. If I want to believe in something- I can believe it... no proofs are needed.
Already answered on the unicorn question you mentioned in another discussion... was quite an interesting thing to ask.
Here we have a saying- "faith have no need of proofs, after all- thats what faith is all about... to believe wherer there are proofs or not."
Hope it answered your question...

I know there is a God. I know by the fact that everything in the world works according to pattern. If I plant a pea seed, guess what comes up? Yes, peas! No little puppy dog, no kitty cat, a pea plant. In winter, it snows and the snow comes down in white patterned flakes of ice and water crystals. It does not come down as drops of stainless steel nails. You do not want to believe in God and say HE does not exist because you have something to hide. Children are born believers.
If God never existed, guess who would not be here? Gewcew23.
Yes, you were born in the wrong time. You should have been living in the Old Testament times and then the demons would have appeared as either Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, Woden, or one of the 'idols' that the Greeks, Romans, or Scandavian and German peoples believe in. Sorry, no nothing of the Celtic idols if that is your background.
But believe me, these idols were not that nice.

It's hard for me to think that anyone with any intelligence and any honesty can see the magnificence and precision of creation and not believe in a superior being. It makes me wonder if they deny what inventors produced as well. Did those inventions just happen without someone coming up with the idea and producing something from those ideas? I don't know if the "burden of proof" is on the believer any more than it's on the nonbeliever since neither of us in our own power can prove the existence of God. Those of us who are believes rely on God to prove Himself and we believe He has done that through His creation, through His Son, Jesus, through the Bible, and through the work of His Holy Spirit. At birth, it's not that we're nonbelievers but that we're ignorant. One would hope that as we grow and learn, we become intelligent enough to look at the evidence and come to a right decision regarding God.

Nobody has the burden of proof. Everybody has to walk his path. Life is so full of stress some people get a lot of consolation through faith in God. Of course, faith can be in anything. It need not be an omnipotent being. But to believe that there is a perfect omnipotent being who loves us and protects us and who is busy preparing for us a room in paradise could be a lovely belief, eh?
Atheists do not need a God. They have faith in themselves. They are confident they can solve their problem themselves without placing faith in a God. This is their path. There is no question of proving or disproving anything.
But of course, there are some terrible idiots who come across us and spout nonsense that thier God is the only true one and we will go to hell if we do not believe in him. These fools should be challenged. We should question them and demand proof. WE need solid evidence in such cases and not lame arguments based on that nonsense called Bible.

There is so much you do not understand yet. First,no one is born a believer????We are all spiritual beings in our true natures. We are installed in our physical bodies after birth at the point when memories are capable. The connection is in the brain.Have you talked with lots of people about this???? Some remember being installed. You are right about religion can almost be brainwashing for many. There are lessons around that as well.Finally.Burden of proof.God places all the secrets of the universe around us.How long did mankind watch birds fly before he understood how to fly??? The true burden of proof always lies with the one who seeks the knowledge. If you seek nothing, why do you need proof? There is an unending supply of knowledge unknown. If anyone claims to know it all, they have just stopped searching. God does exist. He is not like what religions teach. Start your own journey to discovery. Sometimes people who search find what they search for.

Hi,
We were all born. It doesn't matter whether one has faith on particular deity or not. But it matters a lot if one has faith on humanity because it is humanity which connects different people and avoids religious terrorism!
My friends are from different religions. We don't force others to follow any particular religion!! :)

The burden is neither on you or me. How can we physically prove anything to you. I mean have you ever seen any gods? Probably not and me neither. It would probably be a lot easier if they made themselves visible then I could be like "look! I told you gods are real!" Saying its all true because the bible or other holy book says so is kind of bonkers I think. I guess Oompa loompa is real because Charley and the Chocolate factory says so. To believe or not is a choice.

This is going to sound silly, but I was never told anything about God or Jesus until I was seven years old, and I met Jesus personally at the age of five during an abusive time with my foster parents.
In fact at that time, I really didn't even know who He was back then. All I knew was that He told me my abuse was over and that I and my sisters and brother were going home after enduring three weeks of abuse at the hands of our foster parents. And right after that, the abuse stopped and the next day children services came to get us, and they took us home to our mother.
I've never forgotten this experience and every time I question the reality of God, I remember that night when I was a petrified little girl who wanted her parents more than anything.
Sometimes it still brings tears to my eyes and for the longest time I was angry and hateful toward my foster parents. I guess I still am in some way, but I'm learning to forgive and move on. Not always easy, but I guess one step at a time.
