When your hut is on fire..

When your hut is on fire... The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions. One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky. He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost. He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger. He cried out, 'God! How could you do this to me?' Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him! 'How did you know I was here?' asked the weary man of his rescuers. 'We saw your smoke signal,' they replied. The Moral of This Story: It's easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn't lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering. Remember that the next time your little hut seems to be burning to the ground. It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God. P.S. You may want to consider passing this on, because you never know who feels as if their hut is on fire today. God Bless Regards Brian

Thank you. I needed to hear this. You see, I have had trouble finding a job and even more to stick with that job that will allow me to live in my own residence and take care of myself and my three beloved pets. Currently, I live with family and all of them smoke. I am asthmatic so you can imagine how hard it is for me, particularly when I have trouble affording my medications or even getting the assistance I need due to some stumbling block. I have felt trapped in this place for a year now, and I've lost hope time again and again at ever finding employment that will be rewarding and satisfying and even more fulfilling. And yet, seeing this message has uplifted me. I believe God led me to this message. And for some reason, He led me to read Isaiah 24 a couple hours ago. It shook me up. But yet, I have hope, thanks to God. And since I can't stop thinking about Jesus, I need to make an effort to trust Him more than I do, including with the job and living situation. Thank you for posting this.

Oh wow such a powerful story! I'm thinking of my own life right now I'm really strapped financially & I'll never get ahead in business unless a miracle happens to me & my family. I will definitely hold on to the hope in this story, G-d always comes thru for His children! :-)

you are certainly right. and i hope, everything is well and good to you right now. may you find peace in the midst of the storm. may the waves that crushes at the doorstep be soft enough to give you time. and all these things will be possible, whenever we have God on our side. He never promised a smooth sailing, but a safe one for all of His children.. thanks..

This is absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. It's true - in the bad times, we need to be preparing for the good times that are soon to come. I also heard recently that in life, we're either getting out of a trial, in a trial, or about to go into a trial. So no matter which way you turn, there is always going to be a test. However, we need to be strong through the power of God because that is He wants. Thanks again for brightening the day for so many people! Keep up the good work, my friend.

Brian, I have heard this story before. But I'm happy to hear it again today. Times are really tough, brother...and we need reminders that God is in the storm and that at some point, someone will see our smoke signals! Thanks much, and God bless! ~thepianoladie

Already I have heard this story. You have explained it here with a good moral. We should not murmur God if we met any bad things. God knows what is good for us. So we should accept our sorrows happily. In Bible also we have read about job. So we should live happily in our troubles also.
