I know this is something kind of redundant. But, I really wondered about my friends here if they read Reminisce and Good Old Days as I do. Ive had these subscriptions almost constantly since the '80's when i found out about them. Believe it or not, a lot of the things in them are even before i was born I just love reading about simpler times and antiques, etc. I've even joined online communities of Good Old Days magazine. So, do you read either or both of these? Have you even heard of them? likely this is just in the USA and Canada i believe

I've never heard of either one. The only two I read immediately and would miss if I didn't get them are International Figure Skating and Blades on Ice. But I'm not a skating junkie, really. I also get three Science Fiction magazines, Analog, Asimov's and Fantasy and Science Fiction. I am almost two years behind on those. :-(

Hi bunnybon7, I have not bought a magazine for a long time as I spend most of my time on my computer, also we don't have one like that here, well, I've never heard of it which is a shame as all magazine here a catered for young people, its all about celebs, rather boring and waste of money, if you ask me. I think it's an interesting discussion, Bon. When i had to quit work soon be 5 years ago i cancelled all my subscriptions. I wasn't sure how not working was going to turn out. I sent off the money this week to start taking taste of home ahain. I also loved country woman to. I also like reminisce but haven't seen one in awhile. My mother use to give them to me when she was living.I have not seen good old days but i know i would like it. I guess u know i like antiques, lol.

yes, reminisce is published by the very same people as taste of homeReiman publishing inc. they also have a Reminisce Extra. since its every 2 months, they decided to add another 1 in there the months reminisce is missed. i used to get taste of home and have so many old ones i still look thru at times but i seldom cook anything i havent cooked a thousand times before these days. since ive gotten them so long they are always offering me better deals. like my reminisce sub has only cost me about 12 bucks a year for a long time now. plus, good old days just renewed for 10 bucks!! cant beat that.

Hey there. There is just one magazine I can't do without. I have been reading Readers' Digest for more than a decade now and fell like something is missing if I don't get to read it any month. When I was younger, I used to read a magazine called Sports Star as well. I am not even sure if it is published any more. I loved this topic. It is very different from most of the topics I have seen

Hey friend, When I was a kid, I used to love magazines written for the kids. When I was a teen I was fond of teenage ones. When I became a university student I became fond of entertain magazines. But now I love IT related ones. Have a nice day.

I love magazines like that! Since I'm cutting expenses to the bone I don't have but two subscriptions and I got those dirt cheap, Reader's Digest and Guideposts. I wouldn't have those but I got them each for $8 a year. I have magazines from last year that I haven't read, free ones like Culture and Travel and Islands that I should get around to looking at. But I have trained myself to be able to do without anything so I don't miss not having magazines I used to enjoy.

At least with Reader's Digest, just ignore all their pleading for you to renew and wait until after you get your "last" issue. They'll send you at least two more and lower their offer to about $8!

I have to read Victoria and Reader's Digest. Victoria has old vintage furniture and all kinds of romantic objects. It is a lovely magazine. My grandmother used to get the Reader's Digest and I have enjoyed it for about sixty years. Used to have some old copies of the magazine. I love the funny stories and great articles.

I've never heard of either of the magazines that you've mentioned. However, from what you've shared about them, I think that they would be very interesting to read. As for me, there are actually no magazines that I absolutely have to read on a regular basis now. Before I moved into this house from my mother's house, there wasn't a single month that I would miss an issue of Parenting The Early Years, but that was my sister-in-law's subscription and I didn't think about picking up my own subscription when I moved.

well, from what others have said here, i guess you might get a subscription online free. lets hope. my thing is when im away from the pc and im just sitting somewhere, its fun to scan through and just read little snipets and if someone else already gets it, that good you can glance through theirs.

Hi there bunnybon7! That is a very cute dog you got there. Anyway, I know its cliche, but I love magazines like OK. I like it because I love reading about Hollywood celebrities and their kids. I also like the beauty tips that they have. It's an eye candy and I just love to feast my eyes once in a while.

The closest I would come to that is New Mobility Magazine. It's like People or Time for the disability community. I don't subscribe to the paper version though because I'm cheap. I get it for free on the Internet. I know I should subscribe, but I can't afford it right now.

its so wonderful the internet. now we can get free advice and mags., etc. i know,im almost ashamed i made this discussion as i feel bad that so many cant afford mags these days, except when they get free on the net. i really have always been such a mag. junkie tho, that even now if i can get one for 10 bucks a year, i fall for it but, still i dont get nearly what i did when working.

I don't know about not being able to miss an issue, but I do have some subscriptions to a couple of magazines. They were free because I "cashed" in points to various reward sites I belong to. I get TVGuide and Entertainment Weekly free. I used to not want to miss an issue of People. But lately they seem to be getting more tabloid. They still have great articles about real people, but their main stories just seem fishy. They can do a three page article about a person's scandal, but not one "source" they have can use their real name. They always say, a source close to the star...Puh-lease! That's a good way to make things up and not be able to get caught. I mean they recently did a huge thing over Brittany Murphy dying probably due to anorexia. The autopsy came back and it was no such thing. She wasn't even anorexic! But did People magazine apologize for presenting rumors as facts? Nope.
