Do you often use body soap for your face?

It is medically proven that our face's skin is more delicate and sensitive than the rest of our body. That's why many soap brands wanted to meet the need for it's sensitivity. This is also the reason for me to use hypoallergenic and mild soap for my skin. I use this soap just twice a day, once in the morning and at night before I go to sleep. I also don't let the soap stay on my face on more than 30 seconds because the dirt in our face can be easily removed by water with proper rinsing and with soap. This will also keep the oil of the skin. Too much oil will make my face dry that causes itching irritation. This is the reason why I don't usually use body soap for my face. How about you?

No, I don't use body soap on my face. I use a scrub or some type of face wash and then witch hazel and then either night cream or grapeseed extract in a beauty cream. I have had a weird rash on my face for the last six months or so that nothing under the sun has help from prescribed to over the counter. The Merlot(grapeseed extract) beauty cream has been the best to date.

I rotate what I use so that doesn't happen. I live by what I learned many years ago in a book by Linda Clark.

However, if it works for you, I have no question about that. Just continue to use it but be extra careful too. Thanks for responding.:)

Scrubs were usually for exfoliation, and could cause the face to become very thin and reddish. Do you want your face to be thin and because of this, it will be more prone to irritation caused by soaps and other beauty products.

Hi, no, I never use body soap for my face. I use special soap for face. I think face is a very sensitive area, thus I always use special soap for this area. Have a good day. Best,

It is one of the most sensitive part of our body when it comes to skin actually. That's good. Thank you for responding.

Same here. I never use body soap on face, if I don't have any but have body soap in hand, I rather use water to wash face instead of using body soap.

Thanks for responding to this topic. It's good that you don't use body soap for your face because as I have said, face has a different sensitivity when it comes to soap and any chemical applied to it. You can use mild soaps like for babies, those that are hypoallergenic soaps or soaps that are really made for face's skin only.

Yes, I only use one soap. Unless toothpaste is considered another kind of soap, and that's for my teeth. My face is not that sensitive that requires me to give it special attention. Of course, if one has a problem with using regular soap in any part of their body, one needs to do what one needs to do.

That's true though. There are also people who are not so sensitive when it comes to skin especially in their faces that's why they use the same body soap into their faces. But these body soaps has more chemicals that are harmful to your face that could not be seen right now but as you grow older, this will show.

hi there intelpink.. i'm working as a beauty consultant for almost 6 years. i'm handling perfume, cosmetics and skin care under n international brand. we advice (specially asian ) to double cleanse, means we have to double wash our face ( if you are wearing make up ) 1st is to remove your make-up by special remover then wash your face w/ a type of cleanser that is suited to your skin condition. we don't have a bar soap. for make up remover (face) we have different types. we have cleansing oil, cleansing milk and also gel type.. you can rinse it off or tissue off. then after that we have the foaming cleanser. happy mylotting

Wow, I like this. Do you apply it to your face too? I was just thinking why so many cosmetic brands are telling that there must be no soap to be applied to faces but instead just use the chemicals they have made. I was thinking sometimes that these are business tricks so that people would buy their products. Well, anyway, I like using different cosmetic products though. But i just use a mild soap for my skin especially in my face.

I use the same soap for my face as I use for my body. I know I probably shouldn't, but there's no room for two bars of soap in the soap dish. Just kidding. But I still only use body soap.

Your face must be not that sensitive then. However, it will really affect your skin especially when you grow older. It will make your skin dry and prone to wrinkles.

Wrinkles are natural aging results in our body but because of dryness it becomes faster to have wrinkles because of the lack of oil and water that keeps our skin moisturized and have a youthful glow.

So it's the soap that put those wrinkles on my face!

Does it harm your skin and makes it dry or not? In most cases, there are many people who don't use body soaps for their face because it makes their faces dry and at the same time rough. Do you like using you soap? Do you still have a smooth skin when you use that soap?

Yes..but I use mild baby soap. Me too I don't let the soap stay for too long I rinse it immediately..and it there are still traces of oiliness i just wash it over again until the grease is gone..=)
• Philippines
22 Mar 10
That would be good too because baby soaps are also mild and gentle to our skin, especially to our face. Washing the oil of the face is also good but should not be always because the oil in our face brings youthful glow and a dry skin will easily grow old and produce wrinkles. On the other hand, there is also a disadvantage in maintaining excess oil because the face will harbor more dust that will enter to the pores of the skin of the face that leads to pimples and black heads. Thanks for responding.

Yes I do. But then, I only use soap that is made with natural ingredients like goat milk soap or Burt's Bees Baby Bee soap. These aren't harsh for ones face.
• Philippines
22 Mar 10
I like the goat's milk soap before but my sister worked to a soap company and she told me that the best soap in their research is the soap that when rinse is like still slippery and seems like there is still soap in you body because it's pH is low.

some times in summer, but it will be too dry to use that in winter
• Philippines
29 Mar 10
using a body soap on winter will really leave your skin to be so dry and at the same time irritated. It is better to use soaps that are mild and with low acidity so that it will not harm your skin.

I dont really like to use body soap for my face. It tends to dry out my skin. I usually just go to the store and buy some face wash. Im using clean and clear right now, it works pretty well.

Yes, that's what I am talking about. Me too, it gives my skin a dry look and at the same time rough texture maybe because of the dryness. It is more healthy to use mild soap even if they are body soaps or face soaps. It should be in a low acidity to lessen the harm caused by it in our skin.

No, I'm using a facial scrub for my face. I'm using it twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon once I got home from the office. I had tried using body soap before but it does no good to my face. It caused rashes and pimples. From that day I never used body soap for my face anymore.
• Philippines

That's right, maybe your skin is too sensitive that's why it suddenly gets pimples in using body soap. Well, there are also skins that are not that sensitive when they can use body soap but later, they will really experience dryness when they grow old.

As far as I am concerned, I think I am a person ,who usually seldom use the soap for washing the face, for the soap contains some chemical substances. Sio I usually refuse using it so often. But sometimes I will use it,because my face may be so dirty, which needs me to clean it with the soap.Except for thsi, I think I will not use it at all.
• Philippines

Yes, I think you are right. That too was my idea of body soaps. But even if my face is too dirty, I still use the hypo allergenic or mild soap except that I use it twice or thrice every day or twice if my face is too dirty, in just a moment of washing.

yes, I do. I never get problem with it. otherwise, i worry to use facial soap/foam. I'm afraid to try the new one. I'm used to using body soap for my face.

Although there are a lot of people who are using a body soap, well, it depends upon the body soap that you are using because there are a lot of body soaps which are so mild that treats your skin's whole body to be mild and leaves your skin a moisturized touch and look.

You are welcome. It's really important to take good care of our skin to lessen the aging of it and at the same time we will have more confidence in speaking personally to people. It is so important to look good and at the same time feel good.

Hi, intelpink. I never use my body soap for my face at all. I would get very irritated if I did. I use a acne cleanser exfoliate scrub on my face. I only use my body soap for my body only.

I have come to the conclusion when talking about my face, I actually can't use soap on my face at all. When I was younger and I used to wash my face with soap I would tend to have frequent outbreaks. However, I then got to the point that I started washing my face with water only and since I started doing this, I have noticed that the skin on my face is a lot more clear than it used to be. It has been a few years since I've used soap on my face.

i don't use soap in my face. i use a facial wash instead. my skin tend to dry easily and its hard for me to put too much moisturizer as my skin is also sensitive and will then tend to become oily.

Never. Well, maybe I did when I was younger. My face was so oily and pimply nothing helped it so I would use whatever we had. Since I have been able to purchase my own stuff I have never used body soap for my face. The facial skin is very delicate and requires special treatment. There are a lot of products I cannot use on my face, so I stick with just one soap. I have a friend that uses body lotion on her face, and one day I watched her do it and told her she shouldn't use it on her face. It does not bother her, she doesn't get blotches or anything so she continues. UGH! Drives me nuts, but it's not my face so I do not bring it up anymore.

That's a good response. Does your soap removed your pimples? it is better to refrain from using too much for the skin especially those which have whitening effects because it could lead to irritation not only to you face but to all parts of the body. Thanks for responding.
