What do you think of people eating on the road, bus or train?

There are times that I think eating in places like the bus or the train or the road is not an appropriate thing to do but I changed my mind when I started doing it. I mean, I've eaten on the road while I was walking and its actually fun. Some people eat on the bus or train because they are all busy and eating there might save them some time. Do you sometimes think it is rude to do that? Should there a proper place where people can/should eat?

I eat in the car and so does my husband. My husband is diabetic and sometimes when his blood sugar is low it is better that he has something to eat in order to prevent himself from getting dizzy. I have always eaten in the car and do not feel that it is rude. On most buses one is not allowed to eat.

I understand the situation your husband have. My father is also diabetic and he always have a hard time especially if he is traveling because he often get hungry and its not good for him to be hungry so he would always carry some biscuits with him whenever he has to go somewhere. Buses here in our country allow people to eat and there are even buses who give give free snacks to the passengers but its a deluxe, its more expensive than the normal buses.

Yes there should be a proper place to eat BUT BUT BUT there's always an exemption to the rule. It is okay to eat in the bus and public vehicle as long as you're food wouldn't ruin your seatmate's dress or shirt . I always eat in the bus, I really love to do it especially if it takes more than an hour to reach the destination.

Right! I also do that too. When I go to my hometown, it usually takes 5 hours to get there so riding in the bus could really make you feel hungry so I usually buy some food to eat and sometimes the bus has to stop at some place where people can eat. Maybe its going to be rude if we are not going to mind our manners when eating. And maybe its rude if you're eating really delicious food and the other people in the bus are not.

Hi I don't really like it and I don't do that but I don't really blame anyone for doing it, they may not have the time and opportunity to eat at home or thier place of work so they resort to this.

I am actually thinking of the same thing because one of my students shared to me her experience about eating dinner in the bus because she goes to a lot of academies after school. She would usually finish all the things she needs to do at 11 pm and she's already hungry. She thinks that it was rude to do that but she doesnt have the choice because she would rather take care of her health first then that time people can tell her that she's acting rudely. We really just cant blame them if they are doing so.

i dont mind them as sometimes i also do that specially if im in a hurry and so i only eat inside the bus though i see to it of not to mess up inside. i only hate those who eat inside and mess up. but as long as its a finger food then its alright, if they are really hungry.

Oh when I commute on a jeepney, I feel abashed if I eat because the design of the jeepney which is opposite seats can make you feel conscious.Whereas if I eat on a bus, I won't feel shy. I love to eat just junk food or food that don't have strong smell. I would feel guilty if I eat a very fragrant food. It would just make other passengers salivate and feel hungry.LOL.

If you are in a jeepney then that's a different story. I could just imagine if you eat there and the person sitting across from your sit is looking at you then that's funny. I think its also very uncomfortable eating in a jeepney. Good thing you are also considerate about not making other people salivate by just eating junk food.

It's not rude to do that, unless there's a sign that no food or drink are allowed inside. I can eat on bus and train if I am with my friends but if I am alone, I'm shy to do that.

They are the sort of people that become the reason for discussions. They do what they want, we tell what they do, we earn from our discussions, we benefit because of them. It is like oxymoron.

I believe it is okay as long as you don't make a mess or disturb anybody. I would have a drink or eat a burger, but I won't have an ice-cream or something like that. There's a sign saying that eating or drinking would result in a penalty but I haven't seen anybody being prosecuted. If the train company is gonna sue me, they should rather sue that guy spitting onto the rails publicly instead.
