Seriously Embarassing Typo Errors! Just had one a few minutes ago....

If you ever come across a comment that I've made to a certain discussion, please don't think that I'm happy that my dog died! I just typed a somewhat long comment to one of my friend's discussion. And I was narrating what happened to my dog before she died. At one part of the sentence, I explained that before my dog, Ashley was scheduled to be put to sleep, she died. Now, here is the where embarrassing part comes in... I mistakenly clicked on the "happy" mylot code smiley face instead of the sad smiley face! My eyes were starting to get blurry so I guess, I missed that part but I did check my comment before hitting submit. When it was already posted, I re-read it again. That's when I saw it! I immediately made another comment so that anyone who might read it, won't think I was a sadistic person who was happy that my dog died. Another personal rule for me here at Mylot. Don't double check... It may never be enough. Make it three or better yet, six times double checking before posting any comment. To save me from further embarrassment. Did you have a similar experience? Did you just shrug off your shoulders and didn't do anything about it? Or just like me, you immediately took some steps to make it right even for a little bit.

I tried Mylotting using my phone but I gave up!That's why I prefer my old and reliable computer hehehe... I'm usually careful when it comes to typing responses. But today, I've had two or three mistakes. And the most embarrassing was the wrong mylot code! I hope that whoever reads my comment will spend the extra minutes to look down further to find my explanation.

When my husband bought me a new cellphone, he encouraged me to try surfing the net. So, the first thing I did was to access Mylot, of course.(I'm being extra careful with the codes now!) Anyway, accessing Mylot through a cellphone is very frustrating! I had to constantly bring the page up and down just to properly view the whole page. After a few minutes of doing that, I gave up!

Yeah, it's just so uneasy to use phones when typing to myLot/Facebook. I think that iPhone is a bit better for doing that, even if I don't have one. I do have an iPod Touch though and it's screen is the same size as the iPhone's one. I do all my typing on my computer, but sometimes when traveling I do them through the iPod Touch.

Well I have not had any embarassing typo errors myself. But my hubby was ordering a shirt online from some guy. And he had some questions about the shirts. But instead of writing shirts he wrote sh*ts (forgot the r). In the end it did turn out to be sh*ts because the shirts were really bad quality. And I laughed my head off haha. Sorry about using the star but mylot does not allow me to use that word.

That's ok. It's a good thing the guy your husband ordered his shirts from, didn't react. Sometimes, some people will react in a major way over some little things. Online purchases is sometimes a little risky. You can't be sure how good the product really is until you receive it. Did your husband return the shirts?

hi jcj__111776 oh I have done some typos in my time even with the spelling checker, it corrects wrong spelling but sometimes I have' typed the wrong word. I always then comment and tell what the error was and what it should have been. like the day I was trying to tell this poster I thought her discussions were really good, I wanted to say with me your discussions I really rate high. instead I wrote your discussions I really hate high. I got a p message, I feel so bad why you hate me? I had to go back and sure enough I had made a typo it should have been rate. I did explain to her that it was a typo and I really did not hate her discussions. I w as just surprised mylot had not deleted it for flaming but guess nobody saw the error but the poster I had tried to rate high.now I check two ,three even four tiems. lol lol lol.

I have made typos and grammer errors but noticed it when I had just pressed the post response bar. They were never to the degree that people would probably get angry at me. In fact I did it yesterday and I should have use the word "sleep" but I put "sleeps" However, in your case I would have done exactly what you did because that would have been a bad error. You would have had people writing back how heartless you were.

Yeah I'll fix it if the site allows and I catch my mistake on time. Sometimes I won't even notice until after the final post and by then its too late and then I'm frustrated about it.

Yes I make bad typos all the time but mine haven't been that bad. I think my worst ones are when one time i tried to type "the fad" but instead i typed that d at the end of fad as a g and it turned out a little awkward by accident and also i keep on typing "hate" instead of "have" or "have" instead of "hate" it's really annoying XD I stink at typing lol I am sorry about your embarrassing experience, I have used smiley faces instead of sad faces and the other way around by accident too when it wasn't the right moment for it so i know that feels very embarrassing. I usually double check my posts but sometimes I am too lazy to and just leave it as it is.

I shouldn't worry too much about your mistaken smiley face. The rest of the post would have made your true feelings clear so anyone with half a brain would have realised it was a slip of the finger. Not only that, your explanation cleared the matter up too. I don't think there's any need to read everything three or four times. I always check through once. The occasional typo slips through but I think anyone reading it will realise it's just a silly error. Life's too short to worry that much!
