Spring has always been my favorite time of the year & am always excited to see signs of it especially buttercups. When i see them i'm like YES, it's finally here, yea!! Last week i saw the first ones. Wish i had a yard full of them but don't have a one. Did also see a sign of spring that i didn't like. I had a stinking fly in my house, the nerve of that little nasty booger coming in. I don't usually have to many even in the hot summertime so he was getting an early start. He didn't get much of one when i got through w/him, lol. This week my two bradford pear trees have budded out & getting ready to bloom. Wonderful!!What signs do u look for in anticipation of better weather on it's way??

I live in the high desert of NM. This year the bradford pear trees I have in my driveway bloomed before the little yellow flowers in the desert. Usually you can tell when spring's arrived when the yellow and purple flowers of the desert start to bloom. The yellow ones are here. (Oh, and my penstemons are getting ready to start growing and I haven't even pruned them from last fall's growth.)

You are lucky to live in a four seasons world. You enjoy each changes of seasons and see the spring of new blooms of flowers and changes in the scenic views. Being in tropical country we either suffer the long droughts as it is now or the wet season that brings in torrential rains and thunderstorms which often caused a lot of internet disruptions. But now my mango trees are flowering and in a few months time we will be loaded with mangoes again.

Mangoes are nice to eat unlike durians which have a kind of rotten smell and not to the likings of many western people. My mangoes trees gave me a lot of fruits last year and I make sure this year I have to sell some of them as a lot went to the garbage bins last year.

Yes, me too. I am so happy that the weather is getting warmer. Only two weeks ago, everything was covered in ice and snow. 3 days ago I say the first flowers and the tempature has gone up. No more snow and ice. Took out my other coat. I love to see the flowers too. The people all seem more happy too.

I think it's far to talk about the real spring in our country. There is still lots of snow around and it could be warmer, as it is now. However, there are some signs that start to show the presence of the incoming spring. The weather is getting warmer now, the snow is melting. However, forecasters say that the upcoming week will bring a new wave of cold, perhaps even some snow. I hope they're not right, because I don't want the winter to return once again.

Normally I kind of like snow in winter, but this year we had A LOT of snow and it stayed for even more than three winter months. So yea, I am kind of tired of snow too. Regards, Biomech.

I just love the warm sunshine and not having to wear a coat! I planted some crocus last fall and they did begin to bloom already, but the pesky rabbits picked them. So I still have no colorful flowers to enjoy! Where is Elmer Fudd when you need him? The trees are beginning to bud, and the daffodils and tulips are lifting their sleepy heads to awaken in April.

For us the first sign of spring is always tulips. It doesn't matter if it's -20 and there's still 2 feet of snow, when March comes those things are coming up no matter what! It was kind of neat that Saturday was the official first day of spring and that's the day I noticed the tulips and a few other things had started to poke through in the front flower beds. Of course today there's almost a foot of fresh snow on the ground so so much for that!

I loook for the tulips and the irises popping up in front of the house. I have also been peeking at my little rose bushes. I planted them last year and I can not wait to get some roses. They are looking very nice so far. I am so happy that warm weather is just around the corner.

I'm glad to , Jen. I love spring. I hope your roses do well. One of my customers at the shop had over a 100 rose bushes. They were just beautiful. She use to bring a huge bouquet every year. Her roses were the talk of the town. Thanks for your response.

Well there have been signs here and there that spring is here. Of course, for all the signs that spring is here, there are a few signs that winter is not leaving without a fight for the year. The fact remains is while there has been some good weather, there has been some dismal, cold weather, especially over the weekend. Which is a shame, as Friday was rather warm, so warm that I was able to get a walk in. Unfortunately, a couple of days later, snow made a cameo appearance, but thankfully did not stick around for too long. Still, there are signs of spring here in there, in the middle of all of the dismal weather that I never want to see again for the rest of my life. Yet, will come back to haunt me. It will be fairly warm, nice and sunny for pretty much the entire week. The greatest sign to me when spring has sprung is when the weather is nice for an extended period of time.

when can i experience the type of weather/season you got there, my friend? it would be an exciting weather change for us too. after the drought, the rain lightly coming. we already have a light showers from above. but still not too much and we don't want to have another experience of floods. but you know, after the drought, and the light rains, who will be more happy to have the summer. they said, it is officially summer in the Philippines. but who will be the happiest people now, now that it is summer?

We only have summer and rainy season in our country. But the most awaited season is from December to February when we experience cold weather. It feels like heaven to me. Summer is one hot season for us so although we enjoy the summer activities such as going to the beach, I still hope our summer is not this hot. I hope the weather is always like Christmas. I like it when I look at the sky and it is cloudy and then the wind is cold and breezy. It keeps the weather cold.

There is one spring flower that all Texans look forward to seeing in abundance. There are earlier blooming flowers, but the bluebonnet is everyone's favorite. It is our state flower with good reason. Picture a field covered in bluebonnets and just a few orangy red Indian paintbrush to break up the solid blue.

I really love Spring too. I haven't seen any buttercups yet but I can't wait until I do. I look for the buds on the trees, rabbits and the first flowers of the season like crocuses and daffodils. Not to mention the grass finally starting to turn green again.

Hi Jo...the first thing I always notice is the singing of the spring birds...they just sound different! And then there are the bulbs sending little shoots from the ground and the "peepers" singing in the ponds. Those are my favorite signs that spring is on its way :) Karen
