Yes, it is a couple days into Spring already. I am so hyped (as usual) about gardening. I am itching to plant but being in Minnesota I have to wait till I feel we are no longer able to get frost. So anyhow I have started to clean and rake some of my garden beds as the top layer is soft from the unseasonably warm weather we've had. This photo here shows a large area I use each year. The blue tarps are going to be a new area for my acorn squash and zuchinni this year as they will do good together I feel. Have you started to clean your garden beds out yet? Have you got the green thumb itch yet? As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

So far, all I have thought about is growing sage in my indoor planter. At this time, other than checking out my strawberry patch and berry bushes,I haven't done much more because the new pups take up a lot of my time..(Have you seen them? Part beagle and cute as can be..)

Penny and Ciara - Penny is the one staring at the camera and Ciara is relaxing.
They are beagle/border collie mix and a handful, which is why gardening isn't foremost in my mind...yet..You can see the border collie in their colorig and Ciara's long hair, and though they have settled down some, they are still very active.

I seem to always be committed elsewhere when the weather is nice enough to be outside. Maybe tomorrow I will get some done. I need to rejuvenate a bed that did not get used the last two years. I also need to give my raised bed some more soil and then fill a container that I want to make into a great garden. Not sure what I will put in it. Maybe cantaloupe, as I can enrich it with sand and make it a good melon patch. I went to a zoo today.

hi Grandpa Bob well I am stuck here in Gold crest the retirement center so no gardening for me but will love hearing how your gardening comes out as so far you alway do so great.I used to have a green thumb and had a nice veggie garden when my hubby and I owned our own home. long story.best forgotten now. anyway we sure did have fresh veggies all year round there in Arizona. I do miss not being able to do that but love reading your discussions too. Happy Gardening Grandpa bob.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, I bet you are itching to going in your yard, do you really think you are going to get frost? as for us our weather is still cold, can't do much out there yet, we have had rain, and cold wind blowing, the only thing that is a sign of that tells me its spring is my daffs are out in bloom. It looks like you have a lot of yard, lucky you. I am so ready to get out and get busy. I just bought some little table top plastic greenhouses today, and in the next week or so I will plant some seeds of various things and hope they survive my brown thumb. I was happy to see my crocus come up. Seeing something flowering does make me wish it were warmer. Happy Gardening!

No I have not started to clean my garden beds yet. its been to chilly out yet. We did have a day that it got to 70 but the next day it snowed and that was on March 19th but it was all melted by the 21st. I did not even clean out my flower beds yet. But as soon as the weather gets a little nicer out I will be out doing my gardening.

I don't garden, myself. I never have known how to plow the ground up. I wish I knew how, though, because I love fresh vegetables. I have a friend I go to church with who just loves to garden. I think she spent the majority of her time in her garden last summer. Even though she lives by herself, she had a big garden. We always had a garden when daddy was living. Kathy.

No green thumb here Grandpa Bob. But I am excited about spring. I was thinking of putting up a few plants inside the house and I thought that this spring would be the start. I already know what plant to put in. A friend here in myLot suggested it to me. I just haven't had the time to look for this plant yet. Mayber this weekend!

It is rather difficult to get the green thumb when I live on the second floor of a condo building, but the weather change sure has been nice! My wife likes to plant flowers and stuff on our porch, but I wonder if she has ever thought about growing vegetables. we've been on and off a vegan diet so it would be kind of fun to grow our own stuff, even though its getting to be the season where everything is cheaper (I love that about summer time). Maybe I should suggest it to her, does anyone know what can be grown on a porch?

yeah everyone is excited of spring time because they can do gardening, yard sales, walking anywhere wearing shorts and sexy clothes tugging along with pets..you can see tons of people jogging around trying to shred those pounds gained during winter time. My husband is already done cleaning his garden and two weeks from now he is ready to plant tomatoes and corns all kinds of vegetables we like. Finally, we can eat fresh veggies. flowers are blooming anywhere you turn your head and everything turns colored..mushrooms are sprouting anywhere in our backyards with different colors..they look pretty but they are poisons..
