James Cameron is in India to attend India Conclave 2010 in New Delhi. He said that the blockbuster movie AVATAR movie is linked to India. Cameron said that the paranormal land in his science fiction movie Avatar may be subconsciously linked to Hindu mythology. He said that he just loved everything the mythology, the entire Hindu pantheon, seems so rich and vivid. He added, “I didn't want to reference the Hindu religion so closely but the subconscious association was interesting and I hope I haven't offended any one in doing so.” The title of the film Avatar, which means reincarnation, is a Sanskrit word and the filmmaker referred to it as a subconscious reference to India. It is really nice to see that Cameron agreed this when a director asked about this.Indian mythology is full of great things and mystery. But somehow he used that in his film...I think Cameron is a good director...What you think about this Inidan mythology and James Cameron ?

I think that Cameron is great director and I applaud him for making the Avatar movie. It has a great message in it and I hope that a lot of people got it so that way they can see what we've been doing to the planet. The Hindu religion is a very beautiful one and I can't blame him for referencing it in the movie. I hope to see more Avatar movies in the future. I've seen the movie 3 times and today I was contemplating seeing it in I-max theater. It truly is one of the best movies to come out in quite a while.

Wow, you seen Avatar 3 times.Great.I have seen two times. One in 2D and another in 3D. And he is not blamed and it is not good to blame him as he didn't do anything wrong or against it.Anyway thanks for your response..

It was disappointing that Avatar didn't won the best picture in Oscar instead Hurt Locker won the award and the director of it is the ex-wife of James Cameron. I don't know anything about the mythology of India but I think James Cameron have an idea to that so that's why he uses it.

I know very little about Indian mythology, and I haven't seen the movie yet, but Cameron is a very good director, and it's interesting to see what direction he turns each time he does a movie.

I haven't seen it yet still but I think Cameron is a great director. And making a film mostly involved a lot of research before hand so Inidan mythology might be one of the source he has found during his research.

hi Gany,I didnt knew about the Avatar's association with our hindu religion.James cameron is a great director and he worked on this project for too many years---i think this movie was supposed to be released after the Titanic then but he postponed it looking for the best graphics and he did made a lot of changes to his script and here is the result of his Awesome creation.I thought of it winning it an oscar but it failed---heard that he is on his way to make the sequeal of it which would be out in a couple of years so we can enjoy it as well and lets see what does it project that would be the movie to lookout for.great day.

Ya, it is somewhat related to hindu religion. You see that avatars in blur color like God Krishna in hindu religion and worshiping under a big tree..like that.. Ya he made this story 10 years back.Due to the lack of technology he can't able to do..I too thought that Avatar will win Oscar but hurt locker won..If he did a sequel then it will be great..Lets hope the best..

I think it is awesome. At least someone sees the potential in India and the culture are so rich. Indian mythology can be very interesting, if you know where to look. TATA.
