As strange as it may sound, nasal spray almost always takes away my sore throat. It doesn't happen too often, but thanks to my allergies when I feel a scratchy throat coming on, I'll use nasal spray. It does the trick! Have you ever heard of this? Have you ever tried it? If so, what were the results? If not, you should definitely try it next time because nasal spray is fairly inexpensive; the most basic kind contains a kind of saline that is pretty cheap. Those of you who try this because of this discussion, please share your results!

Well i heard it from my friend, they have some irritation on it. I never use it and prefer not to. But what i suggest you is do take it under dr consultation, whether to use and the problems after using it.

The nasal spray I use is prescribed by my allergist, so I've never had issues with it. If I ever started to react to it, I'd definitely get into my allergy office right away.

I use saline spray to try to clear up my sinuses. I really hate the stuff! But it seems to work. It's really cool that something so simple, and without a prescription works so well, isn't it. But when the stuff accidentally goes down the back of my throat...

You're right - nasal spray isn't the most pleasant thing to use, but as long as it works (and doesn't go down your throat the wrong way), it's a necessary evil.

The saline spray, such as brands Ocean, or Aeyr are the best to try, because you absolutely cannot overdose on anything with it. The reason this works for you can be one of two things. Either you have been mouth breathing and the back of your sinuses is very dry, in which case you are adding moisture and it relieves the pain. The second thing is that if you have allergies you will have a discharge that will run down the back of your throat and irritate it, because of the allergies. The saline spray washes it away, and is also good to help heal the irritated tissue. When my husband has a lot of nose bleeds the doctor wants him to use the nasal saline spray as much as ten times a day. Oh, one more benefit--if you are being attacked by a bacteria or virus, using the nasal spray and blowing your nose washes those bacteria out before they can latch on to your immune system and start an infection.
