Do you maintain multiple email accounts in yahoo, gmail, etc.?

I have only one account in yahoo. This is where I have my personal emails and my other stuff. Of course my work-related correspondences would be straight to my company email. My one account in gmail is for back-up purpose only, in case for any reason at all I cannot access my yahoo account. I know some really have multiple yahoo accounts and for diiferent purposes. How about you? Why do you maintain more than one email? Isn't it hard to manage? The passwords, etc. Not to mention you have to open them everytime.

well, i have two yahoo email accounts. primarily the difference is that one for personal and one for internet stuff like email subscription, signing up in the forums or download zone. also for yahoo chat i use these two, one for chatting with real friends who know me personally. it depends. so i am maintaning two and I have not encountered problems so far.

i have only one email each with yahoo and gmail. but my yahoo is my second account since my first account was permanently disabled or locked for reasons i have never learned about 2 years now. i guess i also have other accounts with other email providers but i am not sure if they are still active since these 2 are the only ones i have been using for years now. i don't have to go to gmail everyday since all message coming to that account directly forwarded to my yahoo account. with yahoo, i go to the site and opens my inbox everyday.

hello neildc! from what i've read from yahoo services, if an account is not opened in 90 days, they will automatically cancel or deactivate the account. however, some of my friends were still able to open their emails even beyond those specified period of time. i personally choose yahoo too over gmail. nothing against gmail, but its just that i created my account in yahoo first and i have no problem encountered with yahoo. :)

Hi Ysabel, I have accounts in both yahoo as well as yahoo. I sign in my yahoo account once I get in the internet. I have only a single account in yahoo. It's enough for me and I'm quite content having it for it works really well. It did give trouble for me for a short while when the site having certain renovation earlier. Though I have another account in hotmail I rarely login it. After reading your discussion I try to login my account there but in vain several times. May be my account was banned as inactive for quite long time. Anyway I'm happy with only one account in yahoo Have a nice day

You are very much welcome Ysabel. I like to pick discussions from my started by my friends which interest me to share a little of my idea and feeling Since you are in my friends list so there is no exception for sure. Thanks a lot for telling me that the wonderful advantage of gmail. I think I will try to have one in case I feel unsatisfied with the service of yahoo mail later. Just like you I'm happy with my yahoo mail account. Moreover if changing of mail account, I have to take the trouble to inform my relatives, friends, as well as people who will keep in touch with me via email. And at the same time I still have to check my old mailbox every now and then as I don't want to miss any email from my loved ones and close friends Take care

hello Ikbooi! first of all thanks so much for always responding to my discussions! you are so kind to do that! :) have you tried gmail? it has a larger/ bigger capacity and the speed is a lot faster. i have one but as a backup only, i seldom even open it. primarily because i have a yahoo account first and just for a routine, yahoo has always been my first page to load/ open everytime i'm on the internet.

I have two email accounts in yahoo and one at my company registered Lotus Notes. I have a personal yahoo account and one for my online get-paid-to sites. I have to separate those two because my get-paid-to sites clogs the inbox on my previous email account so I decided to make two yahoo accounts. Two accounts are not really hard to manage. It really helps to distinguish personal mails and work mails.

And Not to mention a lot of spam messages from those online sites which you have registered, right? I experienced the same. The bulk unsolicited emails and all those invites and don't know where they came from messages for online activities. I think thats the reason why almost everyone wants another email for this purpose.

Hey Ysabel, Well I have just two email ids one on gmail and another one oh yahoo, And i can say that i'm quite active on both of them, but still i use gmail more, and its not because i like it or something its just that my gmail id is much more circulated, and plus i've signed in to many social networking sites through my gmail id only, I know and i'm sure that i cant handle more than these two emails because i really am not good at remembering so many passwords and security questions and all, it really is a hard job to maintain more than 1.

I think i have got 2 accounts each in both gmail and yahoo, as well as hotmail.. lol =D MOst of the time, i'm only active in one of them, for they are usually concerning to my online activities, and online earnings.. haha =D As for others, they are more for private and work usage, in receiving mails etc.. haha =D Though i have different passwords for all my different mails, but it's not really difficult to remember them all, because it's become a routine thing, to type whatever that comes after my username.. lol =D

hello kun2349, its a common practice with all the other mylotters here to have a separate email account for their online activities. i think its more and really helpful to keep track and separate the personal mails! we can also hide our identity to prevent hackers in the email addie for online activities as we can opt not to give our real names.

I have only two active accounts which are both in yahoo. My first account is solely for business correspondence, this is strictly for work-related matters. The second one which I jokingly call my "monkey-business" account is what i used to communicate with family and friends. I've never thought of having a third account for back-up... hmmmm... i guess i'll make one too. Thanks for the idea!

I have many email accounts, and they are from many providers such as gmail, hotmail, and 163. In fact, some email accounts have not been used for a long time, I don't know they are still available or not. Anyway, I keep several email accounts active.

My memory is not good and not good also in remembering passwords. In this case, only one email since that is good to remember. And I am not force to open several emails. Only one email daily.

For some reason i do make multiple accounts from yahoo and other email accounts, but then again its funny because i just use the one, the one from gmail my experience from the past is that i keep on forgetting my passwords due to multiple accounts until i realize i just need to keep one and maintain it so that i wont be confused when im going to use one with any transaction or private use of my emails ;) My piece of advice just maintain one accounts specially if your prone to forgetting passwords and all

I have to e-mail accounts, one of them is at my local e-mail service provider and I use it as my basic account. I have another account at msn hotmail. I actually don't use it much for writing e-mails or receiving important information here. I use it only for logging in at Windows Live Messenger.

I have two different accounts in both yahoo and gmail. One account in each has my social connection with my friends from school, college and some from work. Other one is just to make sure that I have separate account for my online earning activities. So that I can have a separate set of friends who wanted to earn money. Also sometimes I used the other accounts which has not good amount of contacts for joining several other sites so that I will get trouble in my personal mailbox. This helps me make my personal mailbox little clean.

I have different e-mail accounts hosted in different servers, but not two in the same server. I find it easier to remember about all of my accounts and passwords if the domain I'm writting is different, as if I had a few in the same one, I would have a hard time to remember which password is the one for each one.
