started painting again

I get up very early each morning and I watch PBS on the TV, they have painting classes. Well I couldn't resist anymore and started watercolor painting the week.
It's been a very long time since I've done any painting but it was fun and I feel
better now that I am doing something not just watching. What inspires you? Have you suffered long dry spells?

Im afraid Im not suffering from dry spells but rather lack of time. I used to paint all the time but life took over and now I cant seem to find the time. I learned on PBS also from watching Bob Ross (rest his soul). I love working wet on wet, such fun and like he says, no mistakes!!
Lucky you to have been able to start again.....what did you paint?

THATS IT!!! I kept looking at my painting and not be able to know what it reminded me of......you got it Dawn........it does look like Japan. Maybe in a previous life I was there!!

I started with oil painting this year, after not being crative for about 5 years.
in the past I did lots of drawing and painting, but during the last years I kinda hated my life. so 2010 it´s time to "restart" and painting helps me doing that
I started with landscapes(I uploaded them to my profile) and I plan on more painting and also get back to drawing
for me it´s a great passion that helps you to calm down and just dissapear into another world for a while

Maybe you will inspire the rest of us to get back to some of our creative pursuits off line. I have not been a painter. I do like to paint ceramics, but I was told that was not art nor creative because I painted on poured bisque. I still enjoyed it.

I have had a dry spell since November. I miss it. I had started something but just haven't had the time to finish it. I am really looking forward to the summer months because I am thinking I will have time to really enjopy it. I don't know that anything in particular inspires me except maybe seeing something that is exceptionally beautiful. Sometimes I'll just get a "picture" in my head too. I haven't really been painting for a longtime but I have grown to really like it when I get the chance to.
