Here's a photo of parts of one model car I am building. This was some very tedious and time consuming painting to do. The body got 3 coats of paint. You can literally read the gauges on the dashboard almost. The door handles and keyholes look awesome as well. Even the handle on the gas tank was painted. Just wanted to update as some had asked about it. Thanks all. What type of project are you working on as far as a hobby/craft goes? As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I am crocheting a baby afghan for Hallie. I need to do some organizing so I can use my space a lot better. I do read a little more now than I have in the last year or two. I do a little decorative painting and some sewing, but I have been out of the habit and it is hard to get back into that routine.

I'm crocheting a baby afghan too, I also need to get organized. I envy people who are so organized, they make it look easy. Good luck with it.

I am glad they deleted my double. I have been doing that all day, and I do not know why. I did not add in my comment that I admire your great attention to detail in your models.

You may be working on presents you have received from last Christmas, I, on the other hand, am working on presents to GIVE for next Christmas. I have one, the local university teeshirt that I am just going to give as is to my brother, and I've stitched a shirt for my niece already. I am currently working on my brother's girlfriend's present and after that I will look for a shirt for my sister and my mother to stitch. I have already picked out the pattern for my sister and have an idea what to put on my mom's. THEN, if I have time, I will work on something for other people.

I have been crocheting a baby afghan for a friends daughter, she is going to have a baby boy in the next couple of weeks. Although she is hoping it will be in the next couple of days. I like building things too. I once built a 3 story doll house from a kit. I had so much fun doing it. I put windows in and even had window ledges, molding, stairs, the works. I still have the dollhouse, I am going to give it to my granddaughter. Have fun with building your models. A few days ago I had tried to respond to your discussion about the models, when I tried to post it, mylot showed that it was down for maintenance. I haven't been back to mylot since then, been busy.

Yeah I was here when it went down as well. I typed a long thought out response to a discussion only to have it go blank for repairs etc when I tried posting it. As always..... HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Do you use any type of magnifying device when working on the models? (I'm still working on The Young Botanist.)

hi Grandpa Bob well the only hobby I have right now is collecting beanie babie, I got another one for christmas from my best friend's husband, a little brown bear beanie baby. I have about thirty or forty now, sticking their little heads up all over the place, even have a Garfield the cat one from Christmas several years ago. Right now I have Garfield, and elephant, porky pig, mimi the moose, a walrus and an easter bunny staring at me all sitting here on my big bureau where my monitor and computer are.I have seen some of those model cars and they are fascinating so I can imagine how much work that takes and how much fun it is too. I guess my only other hobby is this, my lotting. he he.

MyLot is a great hobby, takes up little or no space really, and you can earn while you learn.

Building model cars is great fun and certainly not boring or "tedious" as one poster mentioned. My brother would get those when he was younger and I would "help" him put them together. Then, my husband was given a couple and I also gave him at least one that I remember. We were both very much into cars. Later, I had a guy rent a room in my house. He had a large glass cabinet that held about 40 model cars he had done. He would enter them in shows and he had several prizes which he had won.

I just finished a craft sale.....so I am relaxing a bit. But I had my kid's crib made into a bench that I want to paint then paint like a rosemaling on with their name on it...in fact...the crib is 62 years old. My brother was the first to sleep in it....all my sisters and myself slept in it....and all my kids did too......so it's a total keepsakes. It's a project I'll be working on soon.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, I love these little model cars and you have made them so well, you are so clever with your hands and so patient, I used to do tapestry but since I've leant how to work on the computer, I don't do anything else now, Countrylife and Faryland on Facebook keeps me going as well as Mylot, lol! webeishere, you got me feeling bad about myself. I am indolent and i don't have a hobby, except for watering my garden. I just peeped in to see the corn and I saw the car, too. And the happy children. You must have your hands full. So I am resolving to do something creative and productive. Problem really is not I am not artistic at all, nor industrious, nor disciplined. But I will do something about that. Just wanted you to know that the corn and the car got me to thinking... God bless the children.
