Does your baby scream when you massage and bathe it. I have a neighbour here whose infant howls away till this ritual gets completed. Does a child have to cry. Is this ritual not something a babe should enjoy?

In my opinion, Normally the baby should enjoy massage and bath. If the baby scream , I guess there are something happen to the baby which the baby dislike, and baby did not know how to express their feeling except scream. so the person who take care the baby should know what is it.

This is happening every single day. My doubt is may be the water is very hot. As you said a child normally enjoys a massage just as adults do and so there has to be something wrong.

What is wrong there, the person who take care the kids should know it. I take care my baby ,Every time, I can realy catch what she wants, what she wants to do, What she dislikes , What she likes. So In my opinion the main point is the person ... :):)

Well mine is a new born. When our nurse cleaned it, i heard it screaming at the top. I feel they find it uncomfortable or feeling something disturbing them. Especially the water, i know my sisters son runs away when she calls for bathing. But massaging is somthing the kids enjoy.

If the first attempt goes well the rest is hunky dory. It all depends how the first ritual is organised and it is extremely important that the water is just luke warm. Some use very hot water and that is the main cause of the child detesting baths.

Some babies don't really like getting baths while others love it. Perhaps your friends baby has sensitive skin and the water bothers the baby. Also if a baby is crying during a massage the person is perhaps not doing it correctly or the baby just does not like it and perhaps it hurts. The person should not do it to that baby. Not everyone likes massages, and if a baby cries during one they are not enjoying it.

Hi, allknowing. I went through this with my children quite a lot. It was very annoying and frustrating. It seems like the older that they get the more they enjoy taking baths. My 2 year old is terrified of the water and getting into the tub. I hope that she soon outgrows this sooner or later.

Hello, allknowing. My boy loves showering. When he was just a baby, bathing could soothe and calm him, he just loved bathing. He would just lie down in the bath tub and let us bathe him. He never screamed, unless he fall down. It's shame that i never do massage for my baby. I know massage is good for baby but i was too lazy to do so. I don't know why your neighbour's infant does not like massaging and bathing. As i know most of the babies love the ritual. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

When my children were little, I have to say that their bathtime and their message was one of their favorite things. Never did they cry when I was spending that very intimate time with them. The thing that I can think of that would make your neighbor's child cry like that on a regular basis is that they may be being a little bit too rough with the baby. If they are massaging too hard, then it would make the baby uncomfortable.

My son loves bath time, but I have met children that detest it. I guess it just depends on the child. I was a "water baby" too. You would think that they would get used to it and learn that it isn't such a bad thing if you are doing it every night, but I guess not.
