In my house everyone has a sweet tooth and loves sweets. However, I am aware that this is not too good from a health point of view and I do not make too many sweet delicacies at home on a regular basis .Some people prefer salty, hot savoury items like murukku, Bakarwadi, different sorts of namkeen etc..,[for my friends from abroad--murukku is a fried salty snack and so is Bakarwadi.Namkeen generally refers to salty , spicy, tasty ,crunchy items . What is your favourite? Please do share.

I like both. It's very hard for me to choose because I like being different, I guess you see me mostly go for sweets but I do like my savory snacks. Often I tend to have strewberry cheesecake, as this is my favourite desert but anything with apple is usually a treat too. Also I'm huge fan of chrips. (chips in american) Happy Mylotting!

Some are healthier than others. I make my own healthy snacks, and generally avoid those that are fried or too sweet or too salty. Cashew nuts are also one of my favorite snacks but I like to buy the raw unsalted ones and then roast them a bit at home. My other favorite crunchy is whole grain breadsticks that I make with flax seed. I grind the flour and the flax just before mixing the dough so it is very fresh.

Do you roast your cashew in the rtraditional way or do you have a microwave oven?It is fantastic in an oven.

OK so you just roast thsi in a convection oven.I roasted some cashews and packed some salted ones for son for his honeymoon. They loved it.

Lol, neither. I use a counter--top infrared/convection oven. I also make almond "soaks" by putting raw almonds in water to soak overnight and then drain -- like sprouts except they do not actually sprout roots. But the step toward germination makes them more nutritious, although roasted almonds taste very good and are also brain food.

For me I do not really like sweets that much at all, sometimes I like a Nestles Crunch candy bar but not too often every time I eat something sweet I have to find something like a chip or something to get the sweet taste out of my mouth sounds weird huh? I don't know why, I do like the caramel flan but it is way too sweet for me so I will only eat a couple of bites of it.

I prefer sweets. Snacks spoils my appetite when it comes to lunch or dinner if I eat snack before having lunch or dinner. Sweets keep you busy in the mouth. But do not eat too much of both.

We should avoid snacks at lunchtime because it would interfere with our appetite and would be bad for health too.

I like sweets but because excess sweet is harmful i try to restrict them.I too prefer namkeen especially after a cup of tea in the evening. But the disadvantage with murukku though very tasty is that its fried food leading to weight gain. But a little bit a day or once in a while won't harm anyone.

Hi, Uhm, I love food. The preference really depends on my mood, health condition and weather. I like namkeen stuffs, but in summer they don't have that much appeal. I love sweets, but not when my father eats them, as he has some health issues. I like Dahi ummmm. Mouth watering rasgoollas, barfis, oh, dear I can't take it anymore. You know one of our teachers was exemplifying a program environment with atmosphere in a restaurant. There he mentioned chili-chicken, and I was suddenly so hungry. I love food so much. Even discussions on my favorite food gives me appetite. I like spicy salty and crunchy items sometimes, but not in summer. Also I don't think they are good for health. Sweets are rather good. But too much consumption of anything can be bad. One needs to set his diet according to his health conditions. Fried foods especially those that you cook and serve yourself are safer and healthier. God bless you God bless sweets.

And God bless you with good health that would enable you to indulge in mouthwatering chumchums and gulabjamuns and rasagoollas.Actually, rasagoollas are not harmful to health because they are made out of cow's milk and they are not fried.Does your mother make them?Is your mom computerliterate?Introduce her to mylot if she is. THanks for the participation.

Kala, I love sweets, snacks, pastries - just about everything that I can stuff myself with. I stack up a lot of snacks at my place .The main problem is lack of time , since I get tospend very little time at home - I find that many a times the stuff rots and I throw it away . I am very fond of sweets and addicted to certain kind, like Swiss chocolates and Jalebis !!

I too was born with sweet tooth actually. I used to finish bars of chocolates in one sitting, even cakes and ice cream and anything sweet. But those were the days. I have learned to be wiser in my food choices these days. I've learned to practice self control otherwise I am the loser. Sweets melt deliciously into our mouth but... too much sweets will lead not just to obesity but also tooth cavities, gum problem. and worse... diabetes. So, I decided to watch out on sweets. I am not ready to get those diseases. A wise person is someone who knows what is right and what is wrong and I wanna be wise even in my eating habits and choice.

its just easy to make one. you just need a cardava banana, brown sugar and edible oil for cooking... its just a caramelized fried banana... check this out, you can see its picture there and some more details... http://www.tableforthreeplease.com/2009/07/pinoy-street-treats-banana-que.html

i luv sweets specially gulab jamun and jaleebi(which can be scientifically defined as spongy lumps of carbohydrates which have been soaked up in a mixture of sucrose and oil)....i have made this definition so that i can restrict my self from their consumption(u see after hearing such a definition no one would like to eat them)..but i still eat them some times if u eat them in limits they dont cause much harm...
