Swimming is recommended by a doctor only sport for every age ! But doctors sometimes forget that many adults do not know how to swim! Fear - phobia - shame what you have done to avoid swimming! If you want to keep in shape even during the summer, swimming practice. Not only cools you, but you and exercise. Thus you can and relax and fortify your body. First do not be ashamed if you can not swim. It is a sport that you can learn at any age. You should consider a few things. If you want to swim, turning to hours of swimming with a teacher. Even if you're willing to swim, do not venture alone into the water. Accidents can happen, so it is good to you to be careful. If you want to go swimming at times, resorting to a trusted friend who knows how to swim. Before you begin this sport you must provide a very good psychic. Especially if you're afraid of water, you should encourage and give you strength alone.

you're right. It does give you a whole body exercise. I remember i was swimming and i didn't notice i was doing the standard swimming position (i don't know what it is) for 2 hours already. after that my whole body was aching for like a day or two.

Specialists say and I think it's true that swimmers have the most beautiful bodies ; about skin ... not to mention, who swims at least twice a week is a very beautiful skin.

Very good advice. I started swimming again 2 weeks ago. But I swam too long. I hadn't swam for at least a year. Here I go, swimming none stop for 40 minutes. Two days later, I could hardly walk. My muscles were acing! I am going to try again next week, but then only for 30 mins at a time. So, that too is important, an easy start. I overexercised, boy did that hurt. My muscles were acing for days. And yes swimming is the best exercise there is.

I learned to swim many years ago when I was 6 years old and then every chance I get, at least once per week swimming, it keeps me in shape, and I do not need other exercise. In my opinion is the best sport, for all ages.

That is the reason why I want to start doing it regularly. At least 2 times a week. But I have to build it up first. I have a bad back, so I need to exercise everyday. Which I don't always do. I do Yoga (only the back training. This is the only thing that really helped me. The medicine did not help the therapy did not help. Only the Yoga.)Pitlatus, Fitness in all forms en stomach muscles training. I hope that when I get the swimming in my training, I won't need the Fitness program's anymore. I would rather swim. Have a nice day.

I would love to swim but I scared of the water, I know it sounds silly, but I'm terrified of drowning. That aside, I'm so fat people will just stare at me...I hate that.

Hey icesmile! I love to swim and have loved to swim since I was 10 years old! That's when I went to camp and learned how to swim! I took to the water right away and was never scared! My Mom has always been scared of the water because of something that happened to her when she was young and won't go near any water! I still love to swim and when I go to Florida to visit my Mom I can't wait to go to the pool and spend hours in it swimming laps! I love sunning and swimming! That is my favorite part of my vacation! My Mom waits for me to finish my hours in the pool and they we go our together! She doesn't come anywhere near the pool! She doesn't even really know where it is and it is only across the street from her house!lol

*stalking mode* What is your sign Miss Opal? It seems you love water. I love to be in the water too but I've only known how to swim during my teen years. It's all because of that floating thing that you can put in your arms. I learned by myself and loved being in the water since then

A lot of people have a fear of water, I can swim but am not very confident in the water, so I stick to the depth that I am comfortable with, and some people are very self-concious of being seen in a swimming costume, then you also have the people that dont want to admit they cant. My sister has never been a good swimmer but now she has had her baby she is looking for mother and baby classes so that her daughter wont grow up with the same fear.

I guess you know that water births are now, as children are born and begin to swim, to survive. Experts say that children, in addition to being very healthy, and intelligence are more developed than children who do not know how to swim, if you learn to swim, water is your best friend.

I am not afraid of water, but have never learned to swim after an accident where I almost drowned when I was eight years old. I do want to learn, but am shy to go out in public in a bathing suit because my body is not as trim and fit as it used to. This is just the only instance where I feel very self conscious of my weight, otherwise I'm fine.

I understand your reluctance to appear in public in a swim suit. I have been blessed so I have never had any problem with weight, but I know our standards have become zeroed in on people who look like they have they have never eaten anything. If you have a local YWCA, they will teach you to swim. It is a great feeling to move around in the water and once you know how, the fear goes away.

I love swimming! Not only does it cool the body, there's a serenity that you can only get when you are in the water. I love the feel of being able to do a lot of things in the water. Everybody should learn to swim! It's really really fun!

Thanks to god I learned to wallow in my infancy, then retire, but one never forgets it, is as when it is learned to cover in bicycle for example. The principal motives for which the people do not want to learn to swim it is for fear or for verguenza especially the big people. It is the best sport because they work all the muscles of the body, develops the lungs, and is not a sport of high place impact that injures knees, ankles, back.

I have heard and read so many times that swimming is indeed a very good exercise. I do know how to swim but not a very good swimmer. In other words, I just swim for fun and not for competition. But well, from time to time, I do go swimming with my family and my friends.

Hi,there.I still don't know how to swim so far.I feel really shamed for this.I'd like to learn it but it seems I never have the chance cause nobody can teach me.Well, I know it's a rather bad excuse.I am just afraid of water, and each time I am on the side of the pond or river,I feel like I would be drowned.Anyway ,I will learn it some day.

I do know how to swim and im pretty good at it, the problem with me when it comes to swimming is that im pretty much scared of marine creatures, gives me the creep.Whether im just in a swimming pool i can still imagine sharks, and other huge species under water which causes me to panic most of the time. Thats why even though im pretty good at swimming i just cant swim that much because of my fear
