It is grammar, not grammer. I suggest you practice more on conversation, being able to communicate your ideas is important. Read books with English dialogue for every day use. Talk with English speakers. Try to find a language exchange partner. Many English speakers would also like to learn Chinese, you can learn for free if you engage in language exchange, this can be done online thru chatting. Learn grammar through self-study, buy grammar books or any materials. You may check this blog below for ESL materials or for more ideas in learning English. http://teachersandtutors@blogspot.com

Good day to you Xinlingchengbao, With regard to your query, for me, english grammar is not that important. In this world where we live in, there are different nationalities wherein, different intonations and grammar are being use. Different countries, different pronounciation, what might be correct to other might not be correct for you or vice versa. What important is, the understanding, as long as you understand each other there will be a better communication irregardless if you use the correct grammar.

Hi, With reference to your question, I think, its better to express the word clearly. And maybe you can combine the words with action so they can understand you. As the saying goes "Action speaks louder than words". Aside from that, you can also express your words into its simplest term or meaning so they can comprehend it quickly. In addition, maybe it could be an additional point if you express it clearly. Sometimes, its not the word that they cannot understand, its the deliberation of the word that comes out from the one who does the talking. However, the usage of a wrong grammar somehow affects. Let say, the officeboy is talking to his boss or supervisor. The officeboy must at least show a little action so that his boss or supervisor must understand it.

It seems as if you are underestimating yourself. From your post, it can be safely said that your english is pretty good (as compared to other chinese people) and you can improve a great deal, within a few months. Oh yes, grammer is must. Grammer forms the backbone of any language and hence, it must be paid attention to! I am not telling you to study all the rules and then start using English. That is tedious and those who have started that way, haven't reached very far for a long time. My own learning was done through newspapers, English movies, TV serials and anything that had English in it... I think you should try it too... Good Luck!

Hi, friend. Welcome to mylot. You may figure out my nationality from my name. Yes, i'm from China too. As to your question, i've got a definite answer. Yes, english grammar is the most basic and fundamental element of this language. Sentences cannot be well-organized without grammar. Some people may see grammar as something not important and they think as long as the person is able to make himself/herself understood, that's okay. There is no need to bother with grammar. But that's a totally wrong notion. Without some knowledge of grammar, a person can never express himself clearly and correctly. I've seen lots of poor grammar in mylot and can hardly figure out what the person wants to say. So it's wise for you to focus on the improvement of your grammar. Once you become proficient in grammar, you'll find yourself having a good command of this language. Have a good day!

Well, first of all, learning to spell grammar correctly is important. Many people mistake it wrong and write grammer instead . I hope not to offend you, I think that correcting mistakes is a good way to help someone who wants to learn like you Grammar is very important to learn in any language. Even if you learn a lot of vocabulary, you need to know how to link that vocabulary to make a sentence, and to understand the meaning of that sentence. That's all linked to grammar Don't worry, little by little you'll learn more English and become more proficient on it!

Hi, xinlingchengbao! My answer is Yes. Whenever you say or write a sentence, there is grammar. Without grammer, there would be no English. Any language has its own grammer rules. But as an English learner, you must not put grammer to the firt place. You can only learn Grammer through practice. You must enlarge your vocabulary and improve your grammer at the same time. And her mylot is a good place for improving your English both in vocabulary and in grammer.

Hi xinlingchengbao, English grammar is very important if you are dealing with business people or if you want to write something like an articles that most site would do some grammatical check before they approve your articles. A slit mistake in grammar might bring a different meaning of the sentence and you do not do that in business. It might cause you a big trouble. But for informal communication, even though its still important, you can loosen your strict code of grammar. As long as your companion understand what you are talking about, it is good enough. For the speech, it is very important to have a lot of practice because we need to get familiar with it to make our speech smoother. Practice make perfect. If you can not very convenience to talk to strangers, you can practice it with your friends and/or family members. Try to be comfortable with it.

for a beginner I think grammar is not too important. if you want to speak, just speak! don't afraid of making mistakes on grammar you use. communication is about knowing and understanding each other, if your partner knows or understand to what you said, so it doesn't matter whether your grammar is correct or not. if you're too afraid of grammar you won't be able to speak English soon. so, never give up trying, friend. practice as much as you can cos practice makes perfect while you are studying grammar. good luck!

You know what xinlingchengbao, one of things I'm so proud of my alma mater is our English subject. Because I believe one must have good foundation in English, you cant change it overtime. What you knew in skills in talking and writing will flourish as you grow old. For me, English is important, in relating with people, connecting people and expressing oneself, may it be orally or written, in grammar, in everything. So that your listener or reader could understand.

I think English Grammar is important, not only for Chinese but also for everybody. English is the major medium of communication. Through this language that we could understand each other, regardless of nationalities. And of course, we could understand better when the grammar construction is proper..Although, myself I would have the tendency to be improper grammatically, but I always do my best to be understood and sentences must be at least 90 percent in right form..

If you want to study English to it's fullest extent, then you will need to learn how to use grammar and be able to structure sentences in any way possible. However, for practical speaking, it isn't so important as most people will probably understand what you're trying to say. However, it does make it easier for English speaking people to understand if you do use proper grammar.

of course my friend English grammar is very important, if you really want to learn english you must enroll to a refutable school who can teach students a good english grammar. you also need to examine the sentence before you say it because wrong use of word or wrong construction of it may lead to misunderstanding. so be very careful in using word in english and also study the subject verb agreement it will be very useful in having a good communication with other especially when using english language!

Yes, I do think that English grammar is really important if you want to work at a job that requires you to communicate in the English language. I think the English gets better the more times you speak it with people. But there are some places where grammar isn't all that important either.

As far as I am concerned, I think the grammer is so important for a English learner. For me, I think my English is not so poor, just because of the learning of Grammer in my high school time. Have a nice day here. Happy to see you have more improvement in mylot.

Indeed it has been a waste of time to learn english grammar even though the practice of grammar has to be emphasized more than the learning part. I know it's difficult but one only has to keep studying until a few mastery of english occurs. It is much better than to learn nothing at all. It doesn't really matter if you learn grammar or not as long as you sound well to others and they understand what you're saying.

For me, English grammar is important. It is considered to be the required international language in the world. Knowing English makes it possible for us to communicate with other people from other countries. It gives us a common ground to communicate. It is now used in many fields like communications, radio, business, entertainment, aviation, diplomacy, medicine, science, and occupation that's why it is the most taught language around the world. I, myself, is not a native English speaker. It's my secondary language and taught in school since kindergarten, and like you, I also find it a bit difficult to speak it. Don't worry if you're grammatically wrong when you speak, as long it is understood by the person spoken to. But I think it might be best to try to improve your knowledge of the English grammar. Try to read English books with a dictionary by your side so that when you encounter a word you don't understand, you have the dictionary to help you determine its meaning. :)
