Past Life Thoughts…

Some ppl believe in past lives…I’m kind of on the fence on the topic. It may or may not be true, until someone shows me proof one way or the other I guess it doesn’t hurt to think it might be possible. That being said, I do wonder what kind of person I would have been if I do have past lives. I think I would have been a scholar type person, someone who kept records of the time. I love doing things like that and I think since it comes naturally to me, if I had past lives it probably would have come naturally then too.
Do you believe in past lives? What proof do you have to prove or disprove it? What kind of person do you think you would have been…fighter, scholar, royalty, peasant or something else?

I can’t say that I believe as much as the concept makes sense to me. I certainly do not have any proof of any kind. I was brought up Catholic and when I reached the age of 12 or 13 I began to question many things and reading about different religions and what they entail. When I came across some of the Eastern religions and their conviction that most of us have lived before made a certain amount of sense to me. I liked their belief that Karma is carried from one life to another. To me it gives me a fair explanation for some of the injustices in the world like sick children etc, people who have misfortunes befall upon them and have done nothing to deserve them. The idea that it may be karmic debt from a previous life at least gives a reason and the world does not seem such an unjust place.

I believe that all things can be possible, but I certainly am not positive about the fact that there is such a thing as a past life.
Now, for me, if there are past lives, I think that I would have been very much the same kind of person that I am in this life. I believe that the major difference would be that the technology of the times was different so the ways that I communicate would be far different from the ways in which I communicate in this life.

Yup I beleive I have been alive bbefore and some ways think I might have been a man as for the way I liked to fight and had moves that would through a person way across the room as I had no tringing for this in this life I think I had it in another life also Doctoring came natural to me as I have been Doc to my whole family So I might have been a Doctor at one time or its in the genes as my great grandfather was a Doctor.
I beleive some are young souls just getting started and others of us are old souls that have done things that we have never learned but comes natural

I don't feel a need to prove or disprove this. I do rather believe in the idea that we live in parallel universes, so that some of the things I see that others cannot see are indeed there for me. That way I don't fault others for their inability to do certain things that come easy to me, nor do I feel bad it others can do things I cannot do. To some extent I think that what we believe is reality becomes our reality. So if a person is preoccupied with the idea of past lives, then they probably have had them and will again. People who don't believe in that concept, on the other hand, may not and may never. It seems so short sighted to me to think that everyone has to have the same perception of reality.

Best I can do on this is...wish I'd known "then", what I "know" now. Life sure would have been easier!

we are appointed once to die, and after that the judgment. you don't have to worry about what you used to be, only about where you are headed.

I do believe in past lives. I am the only person in my family who is Jewish. When I started to learn Hebrew it felt like I have done it before. My mom told me I used to not eat bacon. And Being lefthanded writing Hebrew is easier.Plus I love the act of writing but not the creating the piece. Plus I am the only one who Loves, loves the U.K. I think I was a Jewish refugee that lived in England or Scotland. And in another live , I was a scribe, A writer of the words but Not the author. It is just a feeling.

I have sometimes felt that I have lived in some other time. In school I was really interested in ancient history and felt that I could have been an ancient Roman or Greek philosopher because I felt a kinship to that time period. I guess it could be possible but if it is possible how come no one seems to learn from past mistakes in past lives so they won't repeat them? On the other hand maybe the past lives don't connect to each other.

Hi twoey, I believe that we have lived many past lives on this earth, probably hundreds or even more and some of us will likely be back a few more times. There are children who remember past lives but we don't hear a lot about it because usually parents are afraid their child will be treated differently from others, so they discourage him/her from talking about it or even ignore them when they speak of it. Nevertheless there are some stories which do come to light and I feel that reincarnation makes more sense than any of the other theories that I've heard. I seem to have been born with a belief in reincarnation, not that I could remember another lifetime but I had a feeling that this wasn't my home despite the fact that I had good and loving parents. I hadn't heard the word reincarnation but I just felt that I'd been somewhere before coming here. I was around thirty years old when I obtained a copy of the book, 'There Is A River' by Thomas Sugrue and felt that I had come home. The book tells the story of Edgar Cayce, America's most amazing clairvoyant and the seer of Virginia Beach.
Later I read of Dr.Ian Stevenson who has devoted the last forty years to the scientific documentation of past life memories of children from all over the world. He has over 3000 cases in his files and many people, including skeptics and scholars, agree that these cases offer the best evidence yet for reincarnation.
In recent years the work of Dr. Brian Weiss who uses hypnosis to heal people of mental, emotional and even physical problems by regressing them to past lives where their problem first began, has come to my attention and once more I've been impressed. If you add to all of this, the fact that I know two people who as children could remember past lives, you'll understand why I believe as I do. Blessings.

I do not have proof, therefore I neither believe nor disbelieve!

I beleive in past lives...but i also believe in heaven and he ll. I beleive that you tend to live life/lives with the same souls (hence the feeling sometimes that you've known someone FOREVER) I believe though that when you die there is a resting place...or a punishment before you move on to your next life.
When i was a little little girl like before the age of 4 My mom says (she believes in past lives too) that i used to tell her when i was the mommma and she was the baby we used to do this and this and this or I'd let her do this. And that she would ask me why i thought that and i would tell her it happened. I beleive that as people age they forget past lives..and some dont even remember them at all.
Other than that i was once the momma and my mom was the baby...I dont know what i would have been.

Ya, I think I am up there on the fence as well. But, hey, I am also ready to leap over to the past lives side at any given time too. I once was hypnotized and I think from what the guy told me that I was a witch back in the day. I don't know why it wouldn't be true either. Haven't had any other work done on it though.
