Just to let ppl know, I have started working on clearing out all the old discussions on my PC. Some are recent and some go back as far as 3 years. So, if you suddenly see an old discussion ressurected, it's just me cleaning things out. I hope no one minds but with over 6,000 saved discussions, I need to clean them out. I'm also working on rating and giving Best Response to all my discussions so ppl should see those as well. Feel free to comment to any of my old discussions as they come to light again? Have you ever had someone respond to a discussion that you had forgotten you ever started? Do you respond to old ones? Do you save discussions to your pc until you have more time to respond to them? Good for you...I try but I can't seem to get through them all each day. I'm pretty strict about clutter too...except on my pc...guess I need to get busy there too. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I usually only respond to discussions that people on my friends list start, so I have my mylot set to notify me when one of you start a discussion or respond to one of my comments and such. I have about quit starting discussions because I do not have juicy enough content for anyone to respond to. I look at every discussion that you start and if I know something about it or have feelings about it I respond otherwise I let it go on by. I never save discussions to my PC.

What do you mean "clearing things out"? I have nearly as many discussions and I respond as often as they come up and do best respones, but other than that..is there something I should be doing with ones ones no longer getting responses? I have had in the past a couple posted a year prior and a new response is made. I wouldn't think one would want to delete dicussions...but maybe I am not understanding something.... fill me in?

I have all of the discussions I've started shortcutted and saved in a folder...that way I can go back to it if I want to but I also have a folder full of links to discussions other MyLot friends have started that I want to respond to...that's the folder with the 6,000+ links...I just stick them in there when I don't have time and pull them out when I do...that's the folder I need to clear out. What they have done to the character... recasting I don't think will be much help. The actor wasn't the problem. It was that they aged him so fast that he hardly fit into him into the show! And then gave the character nothing to do! He didn't go to school, didn't work on anything, didn't do anything more than complain about people not letting him grow up and be a man. Then they make him start trying to "get into the business". At 17 and Mob Boss Sonny is going to say "oh, okay. let's get started son. Here's how you take someone out!" They are doing similar with Kristina... granted the current story is good as it is one of those real life things that the soaps do to help people that might have the same problem..that is fine. But other than that...why is she there? That character is a nothing character to. COurse if we are talking about nothing characters, the list should start with Nikolas and include Liz, that new doctor and then bring in a new, long lost relative of the Q's that is 1/100th or something Quartermaine. What's the point! They got some good Q's right there! But then again, they need new women in town to give the men something to do. This Mia is now in the running for Lucky, Ethan and since in medicine...Matt, Steven Lars and tossing a Patrick! Why don't they do something with that great character! Why do they continue to trash the good they have in the show!!!!! Oh, but let's recast Michael! I'm not to happy with the show lately.

Why did you save them all on your PC? I have had afew members respond to some old discussions I had posted and yes, I had forgotten all about them. Infact, I had started to post a discussion and found I already had one just this way. No, I don't save thos to my computer.

Well, I saved my discussions b/c their easier to find then hunting through pages on my Discussions I've Started section and I've saved links to friends discussions b/c I was either too tired to respond, too busy or b/c I had other plans that day. I just kind of got overrun. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I used to be the same way. Had a couple dozen friends responses and discussions to answer plus alot of newbies and non'friends that I had to deal with. That was several months back. Now there is hardly anyone around and if they are they don't post much.

Wow! 3 years! I've only been with Mylot a year and I've saved all of my old discussions. I probably need to clean some of mine out as well. Oh, yes, I've had a few respond to discussions I've started back when I first joined. I don't have any problem with it, though. Yes, I also save discussions and respond to them later when I have more time. I'm sure a lot of mylotters have noticed that I stay up late a lot. I've always been a night owl, anyway. However, I will save discussions when I'm tired and need to get to bed and respond to them the next day. Kathy.

Personally I have been known to do this with my discussions or other people's discussions from time to time and overall I think there is really nothing wrong with doing this as well. Not sure if you can still earn anything from them if you respond back yourself, but if others do I know they still earn something from them. But it can be interesting to see what you might have missed earlier as well.

6000? wow yea,i've been seeing some of my old ones popping back up-i don't mind if they're responded to. i actually do save some for later myself.i don't always have the time to do them all,and it gives me something to do on days mylot is slow also.

Yes, there's that too...somedays seem really slow and others you just can't keep up. I don't mind having a few but this is way too many. I'm working my way through. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have several thousand discussions to catch up on. So it might take me a couple years to get through all those. Not sure I will ever take the time to sort through them, unless I find an old discussion of mine that I really want to revisit and update with new information. As for responding to old discussions, I do that all the time. I like to read all the older discussions and newer discussions by the same Mylot member cause often they pose new discussions that update their situation and give new information. It's like following along with a soap opera, getting a chance to be part of someone else's life.

Hi twoey68, I'm not even real sure how to clean them out. How do you? Yes, I've had some real old ones brought back and I'd be like, what the heck...wasn't drinking last night so where did that come from and then I read thru it and its an antique. And yes i have responded to some very old ones that I previously missed if I think they are still interesting.

By "cleaning them out" I'm referring to the folder of links to friends discussions that I want to respond to. Also to going through and rating and giving Best Response to each discussion I've started. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Maybe I miss some idea behind your post, twoey68, but I do not see point of saving old discussions on computer. Why? They anyways can be accessed every day once you are logged into MyLot. But responding to long-forgotten discussions is a good way to revive them, so I do it every now and then. It is funny to see how a year old discussion starts gettig new responses and becomes hot again, at least for a while.

Hi Twoey, there have been times when yes I have answered old discussions or gone back on my old ones responded to them and given a BR, it is also nice though to hear from people who look at my old discussions and answer them, as some of them at the time being new here are quite interesting. It will be lovely to hear from you if you haven't been able to respond to my response..obviously this is going to take time so wish you the best on doing what you are doing...hugs LoLo

As a matter of fact I save all the discussions thinking that one day I'll have time , I will view them all and respond , but I never do that . I just try to fool myself because I don't have the heart o delete them , and I want to think I can make time to deal with this . That leads to the fact that I don't usually respond to old discussions . But one time I occurred to me to actually respond to an old thread that I didn't even remembered , but this was because I liked to subject a lot . By the way 6,000 saved discussions seems a lot to me . You remembered me of an old friend that would panic if she found what that number . She erases everything old , keeping just the essential .

I have tons of stuff stored in my pc...I really need to clean it all out and get rid of the junk. I am slowly making my way through the old discussions I've saved and then I will move on to my MyLot mail that is also filling up. I just have to stick to it. Wow, that's a lot of discussions! LOL I have quite a few saved myself, although nowhere near as many as you do. Sure, I've had some of my old discussions resurrected before. And yes, I respond to old ones, although I have to admit it seems to be easier to respond to new ones than it does to go through the ones that I've saved. I wonder why that is? LOL Well, I'm gonna try and change that thanks to your discussion here as I've been meaning to go through them for some time now anyway. Hopefully I'll be able to clear out my inbox and bookmarked discussions before too long. Though with being on dial-up it'll probably take me forever! LOL Happy mylotting!

Hello twoey. I do this some times as well, as i have periods when i can't come to mylot and i might miss responding to topics, and i have to catch up - like i am doing now :D. I don't mind old discussions, only today I answered a few that were.... 5 years old, the owners probably long gone, but they were talking about the subject i had in mind and i believed it to be better if i answer there instead of opening a new topic with the same story.

I think I got an e-mail notifation for mylot letting me know about a respone that was deleted becase the disscuion not loger exiteded. it might have been form one that you started. I do respone to all of my disscussion that i stated. I have never deleted any of mine. I do delete the e-mail alrelts to disscussion stated by friends. I do get respones to old disscussions maybe a few a that I foget about. I do save the alerts that are unanswered, then I respone to then latter.

I seem to be having a similar problem. I was pretty active on mylot a year back. And I got lazy or busy as you put it. But came back to seriously mylotting a month back. So I wanted to respond to all the responses I recieved as well as give the Best response. I got thoroughly confused. I hadnt saved any shortcuts or anything. They are not that many. But still I would love to finish responding all those responses I recieved.
