As the persons getting more educate they are forgetting to respect their elder ones...they think they are superior as they have a better education...Neglecting everyone..Which is very much hassle..Go in the rural where u find the persons who are not well educate but by seeing their respectfulness towards their elder u will feel glad..so what is the use of getting education if they doesn't act as a literate persons..it is better to remain uneducated rather then wasting time in study...What u think...Did u notice this things..?

it seems clear that most people agree knowledge/education does not directly improve one's manners. it should, but it isn't necessarily the case. i do get what you're saying tho. things like this happen all the time in my culture. some kid travels the world and have a PhD and comes back acting like they're some kind of god. unfortunate isn't it when educated people start to think they know everything and dismiss whetever they did not know of (or believe in) where they, having the education and a bright mind, should know better

I dont feel that literate persons do not respect their elders. Rather i think that we all need to understand that if one wants respect then one should learn to give respect and love. If this is there in the elders then there is no reason why they wont get respect in returm. If they try to be dominant without understanding the needs of the younger ones this supression does not work for long and results in revolt which they feel as disrespect without introsepciting what they had done which forced the younger ones to take such actions.

Dear friend, I hope there lot of who are illiterate but have practial experience. Those mechanics mostly during eithies in our local areas were illiterate but they are experts in profession. Moroever those practical and theorical experiences have lots of difference in illiterate and literate persons. Literate persons are much systematic in their professional approach but most illiterate people tend to have their own styles in their professions. I do not feel to remain uneducated we need to educate for the well being of ourself and to the society.

Hi silguri, I don't think literacy has got anything to do with respecting others. It has more to do with the way individual has been brought up, the value imbibed in him/her during childhood. A literate person, should understand what is good and what is not. Accordingto me, even if not brought up properly, a literate person should understand the importance of respecting others and put it in practice. Education should never lead to arrogance.

Hi siliguri, I do not think that is the case. There are a lot of literate persons still respect their elders. And there are a lot of illiterate persons does not respect anybody, they care about themselves only. For me, it is not someone educational level that determine he/she being respectful to their elders or not. It is more to their manners. If he/she has no manners, it does not matter is he/she is educated or not, he/she will never respect others.

Some people are just like that. When they think that they know everything they will act like they know everything and therefore acting superior over anyone, even towards the elders. I find this rather wrong and horrible. If they're just kids they should act their age. Not some guru who seems to be the king of the world when the only kingdom he's king of is his own vanity
