Hi friends, Among all the roles we play in life, being a reader is one of the most pleasing. A good reader doesn't read only for entertainment. He seeks materials to strengthen his purpose of life. A good reader improves his life through reading. So, reading becomes a quest to him. During the course of our reading different thoughts flood our minds. They come and go. But, some of these thoughts leaves a long-term or even permanent impression in our personality. Here are a few words that served the purpose for me. "Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are." by Dale Carnegie "Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." by Napoleon Hill "Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get." by Dale Carnegie "In the minds of those who are too attached to sense enjoyment and material opulence, and who are bewildered by such things, the resolute determination for devotional service to the Supreme Lord does not take place." from SrimadvagabatGita What is your best quotation? Please share them with us so that we can have that noble and elevated feelings too. Share with us your sources of wisdom, kind and wise words that motivated you and helped you to attain your purpose. I will provide more quotations during the course of this discussion. God bless you all

@louierrific That was terrific. It reminds me of Robert Browning. He said, "I count life just a stuff To try the soul's strengths on." Wonderful! Isn't it? Says so much, yet in so few a words. Thanks so much for your contribution. God bless you

I couldn't have said it better--the lines struck me that earthly things are just temporal to happiness, but we sure could look upon HIM --he who fulfills our every need. Thank you for sharing those lines with me

Hello, Its beautiful dear. I know how it feels when a sudden thrust of divine sensations surge in your heart. Life is itself a miracle. Here is a few wonderful lines written by Edward Dyer "My mind to me a kingdom is; Such present joys therein I find, That it excels all other bliss That earth affords or grows by kind: Though much I want which most would have, Yet still my mind forbids to crave." Thanks for your response dear, and a very warm welcome in myLot. God bless you

Hi, Determination sparkles from that quote. Let me put here a few very nice lines of romance, "If I swear no more to see her, If I man myself to flee her, Soon I find my efforts vain, Back to her I'm led again." by Goethe Though this is not actually motivational, but it is quite charming and perfectly explains the secret dilemma of a loving heart. Wonderful, isn't it? Thanks so much for dropping by. God bless you

Hi, Its wonderful. I have often thought about it exactly the same way. I really appreciate your bringing this to us. Here is a few lines for you, "Hoist up saile while gale doth last, Tide and wind stay no man's pleasure..." by Robert Southwell The inherent meaning of this is that, man has to take immediate action when the time is ripe, because opportunity does not come and go at his will. Thanks for your participation. God bless you

Hi, I really appreciate that. Welcome to myLot. Here is another quotation for you on friendship, "What a wretched lot of old shrivelled creatures we shall be by-and-by. Never mind, - the uglier we get in the eyes of others, the lovelier we shall be to each other; that has always been my firm faith about friendship." by George Eliot Thanks so much for dropping by. God bless you

One of my favorite quotes comes from Thomas Alva Edison. Edison is the inventor of the electric light among many other achievements. He was considered by his teacher to be a dunce when he was seven years old. He left school after this and was taught by his mother at home. Later he discovered the Detroit, Michigan, USA public library and actually measured the shelves to figure out how many inches of books he needed to read in order to read all the books in the library by a given time. Edison was thorough in all that he did. He really looked into a subject in great great detail. So, without further ado here is my all-time favorite quote: "genius is about 2% inspiration and 98% perspiration." This quote has served me well throughout the years. I hope it inspires others as well.

Hi, Thanks for the quote. Yes, it is quite a popular quote, and why shouldn't it be? Such a depth of experience and wisdom is put into this brief sentence. Now, as you have shared this with us, I have an obligation to share with you yet another quote. I admire these words, but I forgot the name of the poet. "Under the wide and starry sky, Dig the grave and let me lie, Glad did I live and gladly I die. And I laid me down with a will.. Wonderful isn't it? Thanks for your response. God bless you
