I Had A Wonderful Easter Holiday!

I really did! My brother came down with his youngest daughter on Saturday night and they stayed with our parents that night and the next day they came over to my place. My brother showed me what he had done, in his car he had a big load of groceries that he had bought for mom and dad! Whoa! YEAH!! COOL! Later on that day, our parents came down for Easter dinner. Mom brought a ham and we cooked a turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, brussel sprouts and rolls. It was so good! YUMMY!! Everybody really enjoyed it and was "fat full"! Then we all sat around first in the kitchen then after the clean up, we all moved into the living room and just talked away. It was really nice! Then our parents went home and my brother and niece stayed over night with us and we all watched a movie together. The next day my brother and niece went home and stopped by our parents place to drop off the things he had gotten. Needless to say, mom was right shocked and very happy and tried to pay him back but he wouldn't take a dime. So how was your Easter Sunday?

Ahhh Cats, that is so cooool. Is so nice to hear that you and some of your family got together and had a nice time. Theres hope for you all yet. I had a nice uneventful Easter. My mom and I went to church, then to the Golden Corral for dinner. We got there just in time too, before the line got long. Of course since its a buffet we got stuffed. It was all good.

Well, at least one of my brothers is helping. I understand the one can't because he's not getting any business and the other is sick with MS and is legally blind but still, they could help some physically but they don't. Such is life, I guess. Glad to hear your Easter was nice. You're making memories to cherish in the days ahead!

I went to my friends in Wisconsin.....and it was wonderful! We had our Easter on Friday night though when I got there..she invited her mother and her husbands son too....that way the rest of our weekend was reserved for shopping and stamping....So I was basically on the road over Easter Sunday driving back from a wonderful weekend.

Awww that's great! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! That's what it's all about, having a wonderful time and making memories! Now I have a bone to pick with you.... lol You went to Wisconsin and didn't bring back a coffee mug for me? Now what's up with that?! LOL Seriously though, I've been trying to get all of the states and I still have a few to get and Wisconsin is one of them. I'll get it some day, God willing, I'll get it.

OMG! YES!! YES YES YES!! LOL Are you serious? I'll be standing on my head from excitement! I'll tell you why, I've tried so many times to get a friend of mine, who's from there, to get one for me and it's been a few years and she continues to forget. Then my brother marries a girl from Wisconsin and she goes there for a visit and got me a mug and when she got home, it fell out of her hands and broke. She was soooo upset over it but hey, accidents happen so I'm not upset with her but at the situation. So if you do get me one, let me know how much it cost you plus the shipping to send it to me and I promise to pay you back! Thanks a million times over!!

Hey Cats! For once some good news! Yay! I am so happy to hear that you were able to have a wonderful Easter with your family! And that one of your brothers, for once was reliable! And you all had a civil time together and your brother stayed with his daughter and then brought your parents food! I think that's just wonderful! I am so happy for you that you were finally able to enjoy a nice holiday together with your family!

Yeah! Good news for a change! LOL Oh gosh, I hear ya. Boy do I hear ya! lol You are right, at least one of my brothers is reliable. I didn't think he was going to be although he made promises. It took a few months - close to a year for him to come through but come through he has. He's the only one I can talk to and tell what's going on for the other two don't want to hear it. They talk to mom or dad almost daily and get what ever information mom and dad want to tell them. What I tell them they don't believe because mom and dad won't tell them OR they'll down play it so it's me that's helping them - A LOT. Oh well, to each his own thing, I guess. But yeah, Easter was great! Although we didn't have everybody here, we had a few of us and it turned out to be a lot of fun, plus dad got a break from cooking and I know he SO enjoyed that! lol

Hi Cats, am glad your mom is fine now. For sure she's so happy seeing and dining with her children last Easter Sunday. So happy for you as well. I remember and miss my mom who's no longer with us. After visiting churches, attending masses and a long walk in joining the processions. it's so nice to stay and relax at home. So, after hearing the Easter Sunday mass, we just bought all ready to eat foods and dine together at home. For a change as every time there are occasions like this, my son would treat us out.

Hi bing, I wish I could tell you that my mom is fine now but she isn't. She still has her dizzy spells and she's not steady on her feet with or without the dizzy spells. Her coordination is way off and she still can't handle cooking because she can't hold heavy things such as a pan of water because she gets so shaky and spills it on the floor. She can't clean all of her house because well, she just can't BUT, BUT, BUT.... lol She is doing A LOT better than she was doing because at first, she couldn't talk or walk and now she's doing that and more but thanks for your kind words though!! You're really sweet! I'm really sorry that your mom isn't around anymore, bless hers and your heart! Remember, she's looking down on you and watching out for you. She'll be there when it's your time and welcome you with open arms. But for now, try to enjoy your family especially during the holidays for you're making wonderful memories for all to share one day.

Yeah, I was quite happy to have a nice Easter with my (foster) brother, niece and parents. After my brother left the next day, I called mom a few hours later and she wouldn't mention what my brother had done. I had to ask her and told her that he had already told me and she said, yeah and he wouldn't take a dime for any of it! lol I just wish she wouldn't feel that she has to keep everything such a secret because it really irks me to no end because we're family! We need to know what the other has done so it won't get repeated and instead, we can do something else that needs doing but she's afraid it'll be a competition kind of thing. How ridiculous!

Sorry I am behind. mom sounds like like a lot of moms. they feel like they can't say anything for fear of jealousy. Take the family you have and the wonderful Easter you had and enjoy it.

We started Easter weekend on Friday, driving down to Oklahoma. I made a little extra trip and I met AmbiePam and she is terrific. Just the same as she is online. Went to Good Friday service at my brother's church, then practiced some music and went to his house, my two nephews were there. Saturday we just visited a lot with everyone, and my older sister and I practices some other music, with her playing on her autoharp. We have not sung together in over thirty years, and most likely it was forty years because it was before I got married the first time. Sunday we had a lovely Easter service at my brother's church, with lots of music. I sang two songs with my sister accompanying, and then sang in a short musical. He has a very small church, so I get asked to participate a lot.We of course ate way to much. Hubby and I came home Sunday night.

I love this kind of family get together especially during specially occasions like christmas and Easter. It is not always that we are able to meet as everyone is busy with their own life. I was not able to go back to see mom over the Easter holidays as the weather did not permit me to travel the long distance but I just wish her a happy Ester. Ester is not well celebrated here compared to Christmas. I just attended the Easter mass and came home to a small family dinner.

I love family get together(s) too which we used to have all the time when I was a kid but now a days, everybody has spread out and gone on with their own lives and so many family squabbles have gone on that a lot wouldn't come if they were invited which is REALLY sad but, it is what it is, ya know? I'm just glad I have ONE brother I can talk to and shows that he cares. I mean, the other two do too, I think, in their own way but still, I wish they'd help out a little bit even if it were just physically. Sorry you weren't able to see your mom. At least you called her, that's what matters. You showed that you cared and I'm sure she's grateful for that.

This easter was a little fast for me and I didn't get to see my partner much, not much chocolate eating either. It went so fast I didn't even realise at the start that it was beginning. Someone had to tell me. I guess I was a bit lost this year when it came to easter. The holiday part was nice but I spent most of it alone, however I did try to not let that upset me especially that I was able to come to mylot and that made me feel good again. I don't what I would do without it now.

Why didn't you go out and get yourself a big ole chocolate bunny? LOL Or even treat yourself out to dinner? You shouldn't have to stay at home alone! Where is your partner anyways? Well, like you said, you had mylot to come to and it made you happy which is good because that's what we're about! Making friends and helping each other all we can.

I got to spend another Easter with my dad. He's 89 and won't be around too many more years so every time I see him is a blessing. We had ham, au gratin potatoes, green beans, yams and german chocolate cake for dessert, my favorite! He's having a knee replacement later this month and hopefully will be able to be active again, it drives him nuts to have to sit around all the time. And it was a beautiful day, too! First nice weather on Easter in the past three years!

Awwww that's really sweet of you to go see your dad! 89 years old and having knee replacement surgery? WOW! He must be a real toughie! That's really cool! I can only imagine the stories he has to tell, especially at that age. I wish so much that I had recorded my grandmother as she told her stories. I'd have them in my treasure box for ever! lol

Sounds like you had a great time! It is nice when family comes together and everybody is appreciative of one another and gets along. We had an egg hunt for our daughter in the morning and Easter lunch at my parents and, although we don’t always see eye to eye we put differences aside and had a nice day with them, my sister and my niece. I love Easter holidays. I sometimes prefer it to Christmas because Easter always falls on a nice long weekend whereas Christmas is not always necessarily the case. The meaning behind the two holidays is not to be forgotten though! Oh...We were 'fat full' too!

Like the saying goes but I'll put it nicely, doo doo happens. God knows what's in your heart and that's what counts. You meant to go to church and celebrate but you couldn't make it, so be it. God knows what's in your heart so don't let that worry you one bit, Ok? At least you got to spend time with your family! Good for you!!
