Do you listen to a song you do not understand?

Call me weird but I do. I love watching Korean, Japanese and other Asian dramas and some of their OST (Original Soundtrack) are pleasant to the ears or I just am fond of because of the show the are associated with. I do try to look for translation but of course when you listen to it on mp3, you just hear it. I think I like the melody so even if i do not understand the lyrics it does not matter. How about you?

I often listen to Chinese songs and English songs, because I can understand them.I like looking at the lyric while listening to a song.So I can understand the meaning the song expressed. Then I can sing the song with my own feelings.

Yes.In most instances,I don't listen to those songs.Only if the song is particularly beautiful, maybe I will listen to it one or two times. But I will not learn to sing or keep the song, because I can not understand it. Maybe one day I can speak korean or italian language, then I will listen to those songs.

I like to listen to Chinese Pop even though I do not understand it. I like to listen to Guang Liang, Eason Chan, Jay Chou, Mka Nakashima (J-Pop), and a lot of others. I always (ALWAYS) look for the translation for every song I hear. I am always curious to understand the meaning of the song. It makes it all the better.

I think I also listed to Jay Chou before and I think a neighbor of mine buys his albums and i also listened to BOA (I think she has a Korean and Japanese album right? By the way do you know her? ). Good to hear that you can find the translation for the songs. And through this translations I came to know some foreign words. Thanks for you time.

I collect music from around the world and I often listen to songs that I don't understand. I think it is interesting to listen to music from many different countries and I am able to enjoy the songs even when I don't understand the lyrics. If the melody is beautiful I still like to listen to the song. Some time ago I started learning Russian and sometimes I listen to Russian music, so far I only understand a few words, but I like the songs a lot and I think that some of them are really beautiful.

Wow what a great collection you have. I think I had never listened to a Russian music. Aside from Kpop (Korean) and Jpop (Japanese) and Cpop (Chinese) I think I have not heard any music from other Asian countries. Oh I forgot I heard some Indian music especially in Slumdog Millionaire. I think I would like to listen to French songs too since I want to learn French. It is a great way to learn their language through their music.

The funny thing for me is since I listen to a soundtrack for almost a day, I sometimes sing it without knowing what it means. But if I really love the song (and sometimes I find it on youtube) I look for the translation. But of course understanding its lyrics is so much better.
