I started watching when in high school and it was new...watched on sick days and read the recaps in the newspaper on sundays in 1971. The years have been interesting but this past year or so...it has really dropped in my view. They have character come and go so often, returning after death, (Greenlee twice now!) and David and others leave and come back and Ghost Dixie pops in every now and then and of course Erica is nothing but a self righteous arrogant, holier than thou, prima dona that has just gotten old as the hills and twice as dusty. But the storylines are just to pathetic lately. Last "good one" they had was when they brought Frankie back and then Jesse... but other than that... it has been so boring... yes, I have to say.. I have stopped watching. I catch the last half hour (as I now watch Y&R and it aires half AMC time) and I will tune in to the last half of AMC sometimes, but I have absolutly no ambition to watch it anymore. THey have hte characters come and go so often, and the ones left, are just redundant divorces and marriages and who's with who. No good storylines. Doesn't anyone have anything more substantial in their lives than their next bed partner? The writers have not shown us anything else. They drag the storylines out for an eternity and by the time the "who done it" is revealed...we are all.."who done what? Oh, that... forgot all about that!" And now Kendal and Zac "come home" and there goes that eternal fight between Greenlee and KEndal and rumor has it Zac actor is leaving for good and just the same old stuff rehashed over and over again. SO yeah, I am stopping watching. Taking a nap is better time spent! But even more...spend that time here on MyLot and have some fun, get some info and learn things! Good bye AMC... What about you? Are you staying?

I could never get into the daytime soaps on ABC. I saw all on NBC and CBS. Back in the 80's I saw Days, Another World , and Texas or Santa Barbara, Y&R Bold And The Beautiful, as The World Turns , and Guiding Light. then one by one they started a stupid storyline Or "killed " off a favorite character and I left. Or they were taken off the air. Byt the 90's I wasn't seeing any U.S. soap, I was watching Mexican Telenovellas. late last year I finally got back to Days and Y&R but now I am not watching either. Stupid storyline is the reason. For a while they had my attention but in a instant I wanted to leave.

They all used to be good up until about the late 80's. Then they just started trying to compete with prime time (Dallas, Falcon Crest etc) and after that they just got trashy and that's where they've been dwelling last decade! They get a good storyline and then they drag it out for SOOOOOO long that by the time the "who done it?" is revealed... no one cares! No one hardly remembers what started it all or why that person did it! All the soaps are like that! I mean the one...AMC of where "who shot Stuart"...started in May and ended something like November.. come on.. you mean to tell me that the police departments couldn't figure anything out in that time! I mean, I know there are always cold cases, but this is soapy world! Poop or get off the pot, writers!

Staying? I never showed up in the first place. I have never watched a single episode of that or of any of the shows you sometimes mention here. In fact, when I first saw discussions you started about these various people you mentioned, I had no clue that you were talking about television shows. I just shook my head in complete lack of comprehension, first because I didn't know what you were discussing (RFLOL) and second because I could hardly believe that anyone actually watches that stuff. You must enjoy it, but I would sooner do just about anything else, including a nap--and I'm not really a nap person either. The last sit-com I ever watched was SOAP and that only because it had no laugh tracks. When they discontinued The Riches in the middle of their first series, that was when I stopped watching TV altogether. My community requires us to pay for cable, but I have not turned the TV on since June. I like real life better than stories on a screen and internet news is much more interesting to me than TV news. PS: My cell phone gives me the weather report.

Oh my gosh drannhh... you are to funny! I guess if you didn't know what I was talking about you probably thought I was a picnic shy a whole bunch of sandwiches! Few bricks shy a load? Elevator didn't make it all the way up? I have been watching them off and on since 1969. Why? I got no life I guess. They used to be good years ago and it was the same as tuning in every week for a prime time show. I watch them now, frankly, just cause they are on at the time I have to lay down and rest for health reasons. They used to keep me awake cause I didn't want to sleep all day and not at night, but honestly, lately, I have been dozying between noon and 3pm! They can be fun to watch and enjoyable to "look forward to". It is just lately, last couple years, they have gotten crappy and disgusting trying to make storylines from the local news and since marriage is a "dirty" word these days...they trash that all the time. That is why I am stopping watching. Life in these citys is just disgusting and pathetic and I don't see anything enjoyable about watching them anymore. They don't have a real storyline...just drag the details out into eternity and beyond! I don't watch much TV anymore either other than these. Prime time is disgusting. Crime, violence, s)ex, killing, murders, etc. Can't see why anyone wants to sit and watch that gross stuff. No funny sitcoms anymore or good dramas like Gilmore Girls or nothing a family can watch together. Therefore I mylot!!!

Y&R is getting a little more interesting since the Lauren switch..although it is just a rehash of a story few years back. Just the faces have changed...literally!

I agree a bit. I will keep watching out of loyalty and because it is on when I am eating lunch, there really is nothing great going on at the moment. I am so sick of the whole Adam and Annie thing. The Greenlie and Kendall fighting is older than dirt, Greenlie is just behaving rediuculusly. I think they need to use Tad a bit more and have him get in to one of his old delightful mysteries, that would be fun.

I agree...Tad antics would be fun! Even throw in a goofy Krystal. Or throw in jelly beans at the whole lot of them! All the story lines are rehashed lately. I mean how many times is Adam going to be married...or Erica? Double digits for both of them and that is just to much to even care about. And then they have Jackson come crawling back to her over and over again. Yes, please end the Annie Show!

I'm still watching but yesterday I had to turn it off because Greenlee was getting on my nerves. She has come back being mean and nasty and I don't like her this way at all. She wants to believe that Kendall tried to kill her so she could be with Ryan. Its all so stupid this story line. Then you have JR trying to get Annie out of his fathers life but then he goes and sleeps with her. Its just a bit far fetched and aggravating to watch. I will stick with it for maybe another month to see if it gets better. However, with Adam leaving I doubt it will. I do want to see the tribute they are suppose to have for Palmer and I want to see how Adam leaves the show since he is retiring this month.

My main reason for watching is Annie but I do get tired of everyone beating up on her. They have turned all the old "good" guys into total jerks. Erica and Ryan lead the pack as just selfish, egotistical know it alls who think they can do anything(they kidnap people all the time), legal or not, and Jesse or Natalia help them.
