How would you rate the customer service of your telephone company?

I have had such terrible experience trying to get through automative responses in my telephone company..It's press 1 for billing, 2 for customers service..etc. then when you get to right department ..you hear..Due to an overwhelming response to our offers our agents are currently busy ..please stay on the line and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. Two hours later and a few cups of coffee after..someon comes on line and says "oh, I am sorry ..I have to transfer you to another department" and you are waiting again:)+

well our phone service used to be very bad..50 million options then a repeat in spanish..then the numbers like i remember all that by then..then the music..then after 10 minutes of holding someone whom i cant understand and who dont understand me..so i go on hold another 10 minutes transfered to another department..to be transfered back and forth and then finally maybe get an answer to the question of repair to have to wait about 5 days for repairman to come..~rolls eyes~..we have vonage now..havent had no problems out of them..~crosses fingers~

I have been thinking about getting vonage..can you tell me about the tone quality..is it tinny? I really think I may transfer to them..What kind of phone do you need for them..Do they answer you when you call for help..how helpful are they with regard to difficulties if they arise?+

I hate it, I usuaully get someone who doesn't speak very good english and I can't understand a word they're saying. And different people tell me different things, so I dont know whats going on! It's so frustrating

I think that this happens more with the cell phone companies around my area than with the local phone company..If they were not English speaking it would excuse their ignorance of what I was trying to get across to them..but since they are native born english speak csr's there is not excuse for their flakiness;)+

I like my phone company. It is also my cable and internet company, they do an excellent job. However, I will take a moment to say that prior to this company, I was with SBC and that was the worst experience of my life. Their customer service skills are lacking in every way imaginable, their service is horrible and their billing department is pathetic. They are arrogant and only in it to make a buck. I will take a moment in hopes that someone from that company reads this, the service needs to be upgraded in every way and the cost should be reduced. They should think more about satisfying customers, that's how you make money. I have heard numerous horror stories from other people about the lack of decent service through SBC, I know it wasn't just me. I hope that if anyone who is about to switch to them reads this and changes their minds. It is not worth the time, effort and in the end, extra money you will end up shelling out to a company of morons who can't do their job properly.

I have heard that sbc is linked with yahoo somehow ..or is it owned by the same company of yahoo? I have my internet and cable through the same provider..but have my voice over through netzero..since our cable provider doesnt provide telephone service in our area.

I have excellent service with my telephone company. I had to get some things with my phone bill today and they were very helpful. I never have to wait long.

you are lucky..i am not so lucky as to have had the same luck with my phone provider in the city..I have my voip through Netzero voice..and it's great..so far.

I have been really lucky since we moved to PA. The phone company here is really quick to get someone on the line to talk about the problem I may be having. I think the longest I have had to wait was maybe 5 minutes. They are really wonderful here, and so quick to make an appointment to have things fixed within 1-3 days. So I cannot say anything bad about my phone company!

You must have a different phone company than mine, but next time I'm going to just hold on like I didn't hear a word the recording said, then maybe I'll get a customer service person without any trouble.
