When was the last time you had a soft whippy ice cream from a van?

Were you at home or out somewhere? Did you have a flake in it? Sauce? Nuts? Were you by yourself or with friends/family? The last time I had one was June of last year. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon about 3.15. I was out by the coast with one of my (adult) sons. We each had a single flake in a vanilla(-ish) ice cream. We didnt have the option of sauce or nuts but I wouldn't have had either because the sauce is too sweet and ice cream van nuts always taste stale to me.

Honestly I could not remember. When I was a kid, I used to get excited when the van with its blaring classic ice cream song comes around to my neighborhood. But nowadays, I don't really buy ice cream from a van. In fact, it has been a while since I ate any ice cream, the most recent ones was McDonald's ice cream

We still have the vans in our neighbourhood - which surprises me as I dont remember when I last saw anyone go out and buy anything from them!

I do not remember the last time I had any kind of ice cream from a truck. The kind of treat you describe we can get at a place called Dairy Queen, though. My husband just brought me what we call a float, it has ice cream and then you pour soda over it until the ice cream floats in the pop. We had strawberry swirl with Vernor's ginger ale, which is the best, very vanilla flavored.

Yes, we used to have Coke floats (the drink obviously!!) and then we just put ice cream into different drinks to experiment. I haven't tried it with ginger ale though.

In my place, during the summer time,a coned ice creme that is available is known as WHIPPY SOFTY. It is certainly delicious.. Most of the time I like the vanilla flavored and cashew nuts are sprayed on it.I am fond of this ice creme and I prefer taking it quiet often.

I always try to push the ice cream as far down into the cone as possible so it lasts till the end and you're not left with a dry cone.

Wow! A Mr Whippy! It's been years and years since I had one of those. I like it with the work, flake, red tangy sauce and dipped into that yellow tangy powder stuff..I'm not actually sure they do that anymore.
