Cell phone battery

Last fortnight my nephew presented me a cell phone, China made, it looks nice, has so many features. It says battery can be used for one week without recharging in normal use. It has a standby battery too. But I found that it needs daily charge, most of the time I find it dead, completely discharged. The battery in it looks like the one in my Nokia cell phone, but not made by Nokia. I am happy with my Nokia, I charge it every 3rd day, never faced any problem. What about you, which make cell phone you use, how long the battery last in normal use, talking only. Please share. Happy posting, cheers Prof

ripe yellow mangoes from the philippines - golden yellow mangoes
dear professor, i have had china made batteries but seems most that are on sale are substandard. and i have read tragedies of burning and exploding too on national news and it is not good. since you have had bad experience using said battery, i suggest that you change it with original battery made by Nokia. have a nice day. ann

hi professor I know nothing about cell phones as i have never had one but my son always says do not buy cell phones from china as they are often inferior in quality. I have a supposed cute balancing time piece from china given to me as a gift, It did not have batteries with it so put in batteries and it still does not work, it is supposed to both tell time and play music but all it does is sit there. grrr.stick with nokia as its a proven brand.

Hey Professor! I used to have a Nextel phone which seemed to need charging alot more than the cell phone that I have now! I now have a Kyocera! I believe that is a Chinese phone! It is really wonderful! It can go for days without being charged. I just went to check it because I haven't charged it in a few days and when I plugged it in it was fully charged! What a great little phone!

most china made products are of very low quality and at the best it is a use and throw away kind. i do not buy any china made products as most of them are substandard. its better to go for those made locally which are in fact reasonably priced and maintain good quality. nokia is priced very vulgarly. like the chinese who are bad on quality, nokia is very bad on pricing. i feel LG and Samsung are priced much better than nokia while releasing a new product. brands like micromax, karbonn, onida, videocon also entered the market with good product range at reasonable prices.

well my battery is nokia made and it last for 1 week, i charge it every sunday and i don't have any problem with my battery, china made battery is quite low quality, almost all the battery sell in a cellphone repair is china made and after 1 month of use it easily degrade, it only last for a half day unlike my nokia battery a week

Two things:- 1. If the battery life was poor from the start then you may have bought one with a duff battery. Take it back and replace the whole phone. 2. Check your settings. You may have activated a feature that is on all the time and using power. Try locking the keypad as well. If you put your mobile into a pocket or a custom holder it may press a key and switch on the backlight all the time. Chinese made kit is fine. Open up a Nokia and you will find most of the components are made in China.

China made products are not dependable items. They may be good or may not be good too. I bought a torch light and it is very good. I got one emergency light as a gift for some accumulated points with coffee shop and it lasted for only 15 days. I took to several shops and showed to many electricians to get it repaired. But everyone said china products cannot be repaired. I have motorola phone and I bought it four years back. Now the battery is giving problem. It lasts only for 2 or 3 incoming calls and I have to charge it almost every day if I receive calls.

depend son the type of battery it is, modern phone batteries should last a week or so, you can buy cheaper batteries and possibly if the phone was cheap maybe it has a cheap battery on it, is it a lithium battery ??

My battery usually lasts about a week sometimes more. I use it mostly to text and don't talk on it that much. But when I do its not a whole lot. But, my phone is a samsung. I had phones that required a charge every other day. but I've had phones that would last about a week. like the longer-lasting ones better.
