Hi everybody, Pat Boone was one of the most beloved singers of the late 50`s and early 60`s. His deep baritone voice and his handsome looks endeared him to everyone especially the ladies. He was and still is one of my favourite singers. His song Bernadine topped the charts and catapulted him to fame. Then came Love Letters in the Sands, Speedy Gonsalves, The hallelujah song Wonderful time up there and may more.after the advent of the Beatles he sort of faded away and there is no news of him at all. do any of our American mylotters know where and what he is doing at present? Please find out.

www.patboone.com reports on 09/25/2009 that he and Shirley Boone will join Mike Huckabee in an Israel trip in February 2010. I don't see anything in the news about him.

Hi Veejay - at first when I read your discussion I really thought Pat Boone had passed away. I was wrong, Pat Boone is living in Los Angeles with his wife keeping busy writing and playing golf. Since 1977 he has hosted an annual Golf tournament in Chattanooga, Tennessee for Bethel Bible village which is a faith based home for children of families in Crisis. He was inducted into both the Hit Parade Hall of Fame and the Christian Hall of Fame in 2007. Did you know he was a direct descendant of the American Pioneer Daniel Boone?

This is very interesting information that you've shared here. I am familiar with some of his music, but I never knew who the artist was/is. It sounds to me that after he faded from the spotlight with his music career he became quite the humanitarian. It is great to hear that he is doing well and that he is doing so much good work for children in crisis. I hope that his humanitarian work continues for some time to come.

He has a website that is patboone.com and I remember reading he celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with Shirley in 2009 I think. I remember my mom loving his songs and seeing movies on tv and him on older television shows. But haven't really thought about him for long time now. As far as I know he is still going strong. Hope I am right.

I remember Pat Boone, my mother used to love him! I believe he may be in the mid seventies now and still very active. I read somewhere that he is a descendant of Daniel Boone, Uhmmm...I wonder if that is true...Anyhow according to this link (NOT A REFERRAL LINK) Pat Boone is alive, well and not ready to retire. http://www.popmatters.com/pm/article/118944-pat-boones-not-ready-to-retire-just-yet/

Yes, I remember Pat Boone very well. I was a kid at the time and my mother had a few old '78' records. I think he sings Red Sales in the Sunset on one of them. I believe he is still alive, but having been born in the early 1930s I shouldn't imagine he would be performing any longe. _Derek
