I have tried it and I can tell a difference in taste between it and the "regular" stuff. I can't say what the difference is, but I do taste it. (Not saying it's bad, just different.)

I think I have tried it. I did have the clients I shop for try it, and most of them like it. One household said that they did not. Hubby does not eat pasta, so it does not get purchased here. I like whole grain breads and brown rice as well.

I like pasta, but my mother did not, and we almost never had it. My husband threw up whenever his mom gave him pasta, so I am betting there is an allergy there. He gets sick smelling it boiling. He can eat my lasagna, which I never boil, though. Weird.

The only pasta my mother ever fixed was macaroni & cheese. She didn't like spaghetti or anything like that. It's too bad your husband has that problem. I would really miss pasta dishes. Have a good night.

Good morning Zandi, the wheat pasta is more expensive of course. Seems like anything that has to do w/dieting or good for u is more expensive here. I have decided u can't win at the grocery store period. Have a happy day.

Yes, we have eaten whole wheat pasta here in our home. We try to watch what we eat and try to eat healthy. I buy whole wheat pasta and I think it's good. My son loves just eating the noodles plain without any kind of sauce on them. I can't really tell a difference in them either.

Yes I've tried wh ole grain pasta. I liked it, but my husband said he didn't. He saw that the color was darker before I cooked it, and said he thought it was old. Yesterday, I served him a different brand in a salad, and he said the salad was good.

yummy. you are right. cant tell a difference. i love spagetti. and both women my sons had here has fixed it with whole wheat pasta. still good. when the gal in NY visited she made things with ground turkey meat that we usually use ground beef/hamburger in. ive found out that things are just as good with this. i just fix it like i use ground beef and its delicious. guess thats supposed to be better for us also? who knows.

I think my daughter has used the whole wheat pasta. She has gotten very health concsious and is really trying to loose weight and has. She has gone to ALL turkey, and I mean ALL turkey!!!! I tried but just couldn't take the ALL!!! I got a cookbook, Better Homes & Gardens "Eat Well and Loose weight" I thikn is the name something like that. I looked through it and would highly recommend it as it has some great recipes in and lots of tips for looseing weight. I don't have my book, my daughter took it home and I haven't seen it since but she has told me how great it is!!

Hi Jo! I couldn't tell the difference in the whole wheat and the regular when I tried it before. I think there are a lot of really good alternatives out there for othersise less healthy dishes. Turkey has been known to be a great substitute for hamburger. Great to hear you found something new and healthy for yourself. Take care!

I have only made whole wheat pasta once, and found that it has a greater "chew" factor than regular. Whole wheat flour is more dense than white flour. Probably, depending on the preparation, I might not be able to tell the difference in some preparations. I just bought some whole wheat fettucine for my granddaughter to make her favorits Alfredo. We'll see how it turns out.

Yes, I have tried whole wheat pasta before. It isn't too different from the regular kind, at least the taste, like you said. I wonder though sometimes, because I looked at the nutrition facts of the whole wheat pasta and the regular pasta. I didn't see much different in the grams of sugar or fat. Maybe there is a big difference in carbs, although if the sugar is about the same...But since so many health officials recommend it, I certainly try to eat it when I'm cooking anything with pasta as an ingredient.

I love whole wheat pasta. I also love making my own fresh pasta which is totally wonderful and so much healthier for you. I bought a pasta machine a few years ago and have made all sorts of pasta from whole wheat to veggie to chocolate.
I even have a loaf of bread in the bread maker, I am going to add sunflower seeds, oatmeal and flax seed to it. I also have made bread with veggie flours that have turned out great.

Wholewheat pasta is of course healthier than the other. The fact that the crust is not made of white flour makes it really advisable to those who are healthy conscious, like me. But it should not be just the crust, even the toppings should be healthy as well. Even it the crust is made of wholewheat flour but the toppings are lavished with too much sodium, processed meat, too much fats and cholesterol then that defeats the purpose. Now I think you've eaten a real good one that you could not even tell the difference from the regular one. The one I've tasted has toppings of veggies, pineapple tidbits, mushrooms and lots of slices of onions and bell papers and just enough amount of mozzarella. It tastes really great especially with my favorite hot sauce. Hmmm yummy!

Yes I have switched and it's really good. To me it doesn't taste any different to the regular pasta. I love pasta of all kinds, so to be able to eat it and know its healthier for me it makes me happy.
