Lately, my application to work abroad was approved by my incoming employer, I dream this before to help my financial problem not only for my family but also many people that close to my heart. I felt excited about this but I don't know what will be the consequences about this new endeavor. I don't have any experience yet because it is my first time to work abroad. To all mylotters who happen working now outside their country, what will be the things that I a going to consider while I am away from my country?

The advantage is you can earn more as the currency is higher then your country. Disadvantage is you will be alone there and your family will not be with you. Moreover you are working hard for abroad not for your country.

dreamsharmin yes i can earn more here mate than working in my country although so many things need to sacrifice to have all of this advantages. If ever I am more lucky enough I can buy all my wants after a couple of years working abroad. Better to work our own country but salary is very low, it's lacking even buying your daily needs. It's very hard to balance so I have no choice except to face the reality I need to go abroad. anjalip Better mate you read my post. anyway, this are the alternative of so many country to hire from other places so minimize expenses and maximize works. Most of middle east country hired workers from the Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Lebanon to name a few. They can spend less salary than hiring workers from their country itself because most of their countrymen don't accept low salary.

Hi julyteen, I have got many valid and interesting points from your discussion which you have initialize....I jst want to add on that.. Going abroad for working is good opportunity, you get more than enough money to survive, you get better infrastructure, atmosphere and technology but the ultimate thing is your basics are from your nation and you have got identity here, only at your native place....rest you accept things but sometimes people and culture don't accepts you. for an example if you see the example of MNCs like IBM etc, they hired people here at almost 15-20 dollars per head expenses while the US guys are ready to work on atleast 55-60 dollars...so they jst save their money. no doubt Indians are getting more salary then they have paid in India and got more exposure also but ultimately you are studying in your country and paying your services to other country....If you see govt is spending in crores almost every year to organise the Education system, incorporating new universities and starting new professional and non professional courses to improve our literacy rate but you just going to abroad and filing your pocket.

i cannot talk about personal experience in working abroad cause i really don't want to go out of the country and i never been out to work. but i can tell you some of what i have learned from my relatives who are working or who worked abroad... of course, the first thing you have to fight for is boredom or homesickness. i know everyone who went out to work abroad for their families suffer homesickness. but i believe, that never last long. when you are away from your family, especially from your spouse, you will miss the most intimate time with her. and that is another one to fight for, missing her, beside you, when you sleep. i just hope, people who looks for a living away from their loved ones will be faithful to their spouse. worse of it, when the one who's left in the country became the unfaithful one. if you have kids already, they will be included in the fight for homesickness. but of course, if you win against those fights, you will be looking forward to a better lives of your kids and you spouse. working abroad means bigger salaries. and if the employer is great, the earnings could be more. meaning, more "pasalubong" when you come back home.

I already work abroad and so far the homesick you will experience only on the first 3 month and last month before you go home. Talking about faithful. Of course I did it to my wife. Better I don't have kids yet that time. Now, in my second work maybe it's hard because I have a baby boy already.

I have worked abroad a couple of times, and I have learned a lot from that experience. In the beginning it was hard to live in a country where I didn't understand the language and I felt left out when I didn't understand the conversation around me, but my co-workers were nice and me and they helped me learn their language. I also had to get used to living in a different culture, but I saw that as something positive, and I found it interesting to learn more about a new culture. Sometimes I missed my family and my friends from my own country, but I wrote many letters and I often talked to them on the phone.

Well, I have not tried working abroad, and I'm still trying to figure out whether I can really do it or not. My sister on the other hand has been to another country for quite some time now, just following her dream. I envy her courage, but I guess I can never really know until I try. I say just be brave and I guess everything would all soon fall into places. I hope you succeed in your new endeavor.

Hi julyteen currently numerous populace depart abroad because of different reasons. One of them is looking for a job. Working in other countries has both advantages and disadvantages. At first, I desire to underscore excellent sides of working in a foreign country. The first one is that you will get knowledge and experience, which can be useful to your forthcoming career. The subsequently motivation is extraordinarily easy-money. At the first glance, they do not bring happiness; however, they facilitate us in our existence. In other places of European Union, you can earn supplementary than in Poland. On the other hand, leaving your nation has also disadvantages. Working abroad can be dangerous. Occasionally employers want to swindle inexperienced foreigners. When you do not know the language very well, you make them it easier. As far as I am concerned, everyone leave in the country several measurement of his life. The majority of people overlook these things, which are capable of be impracticable to regain afterward. To cut a long story short, it is possible to find equally superior and dreadful sides of working abroad. The way I see it, this experience is significance risk. One can constantly come back to the mother country with the acquaintance and reminiscences he will be unable to find.

Well, I am sure that in terms of earning, you will be earning more as compared to working here. With this, you can save money for the future not only for yourself but for your family as well. But of course, there is also a disadvantage, considering that you will be there away from the comfort of your family and friends. What is important is to continue to keep in touch most especially with your love ones. You have not told me if you have a child or not, it would be more difficult, but still its a matter of adjustment and keeping in touch. With the advent of new technologies, then it would be easier to be close even if your far away. Congratulations on your new work. I wish you the best and hope to still hear from you here in mylot.

Sorry to tell since our wedding I don't have enough time to stay home because I am so busy with my application for abroad. A good result I am now ready for my new endeavor aside for being newly married. Yes mate, I agree that communication now is our bridge for constant keeping in touch with our family. Unlike before the only thing to do was to write and record some of their voices in a tape recorder and sent it to their respective hometown. Now we can talk in a couple of seconds and see each other even in a great distance.

ADVANTAGE: *You can earn higher income. *You can help those dependent to you. *You can give a good life to your family. *You can go to other country and know their culture. *You can explore and learn many things. DISADVANTAGE: *At first you will be homesick. -But you can overcome this. Just be strong. *You don't know the tradition, culture, policy. -It is important in order for you to be aware of the surroundings and to avoid rules violation that can cause you to be prison. And also to avoid people to abuse you. *Hard to communicate. -Since they have different language you should know their language specially English in order for you to not be insulted and fooled. *Hard to express yourself. *You don't know their behavior and attitude. For me.. You can do it. Be strong. Use your knowledge. Dont let them abuse you.

I am now here in Riyadh, KSA. it's my 17 days here. So far, i didn't felt any homesick maybe it's because a lot of Filipinos working in our firm and they welcome me like their old friends. Yeah, you're right i found difficult to express myself to people who really don't know our culture. Working with other culture is difficult but now I am trying my best to bear with them specially during working hours.

hell0! well, for me and for all the people who prefer to work abroad the greatest advantage of working abroad is the money, because that's why they are going to work abroad. and the greatest disadvantage is the family, because we all know how hard it is when we are far away from the people we love and how much we miss them!

Hello Julyteen, I have worked abroad before & yes it's a new experience to you...lots of advantages like earning more, spending less & sending more to your family back home....and many others. However there are also disadvantages while you are away from your family & home country. The greatest thing that you need to consider is HOMESICKNESS...it would really give an impact to you especially if you are close to your family....if you really want to do this to your family, you need to have a very strong will....it will help you a lot & try to look for your fellow countrymen community so you can meddle & join them to avoid getting bored & to get rid of your homesickness even just for a bit.Just think of it as a new adventure & challenge & that you are all doing this for your family & for yourself as well Good luck July & God bless you in your new adventure.

I live away from my family since I am 18 years old, I work how many kilometers to sustained my my needs and of course for my family, working abroad is different, it's outside your country, maybe at first it's hard to battle your feeling of being away from your family whom I am very close to all of them. You're right, I need to be strong. I know later on I can make it.

Congratulations julyteen. Being first time in abroad was actually exciting and bit of nervousness. Excited in a way that you'll see a different country, people, culture and feeling nervous since you'll be in a country were you have to follow and not break their rules and regulations especially in your work, go on with the flow (so you won't get culturally shock). Am back in my country though been working abroad for more than 12 years because it was all for the sake of my family whom I love so dearly. I brought my siblings too after they finished with their studies. Just enjoy every minute of your time in another country, be kind, courteous to your co-worker and your boss. Make more friends, and join good peer group. Try to avoid joining group with drinking session every day off, it's good to have fun sometimes but try to remember you need to save and your doing it for the sake of your family. Goodluck to your future and happy mylotting.

i feel mixed emotions as of the moment, am so excited with my future job but i also afraid to face the reality that they are all different in terms of culture and lifestyle. Now, I clearly convinced myself to fight for this, I know after few days or weeks of doing right what is good for the company will make me feel comportable working with my co-workers and also my boss. I will update all of you here what my doings and undertakings after few days. Thanks for your good comments.
